Sheets, I'm DIYing those balls I posted previously (a soak in strong TSP water overnight gets the color off everything), and I'm doing some red ones with the Canada Post logo (drawn by me, so not perfect...) for my manager.

I also made a set of purple ones for my mom's friend. I think they're great gifts because they're something they'll use again and again and you can do them up in any colors you like. Hockey team colors, school colors, shades of [blues/reds/purples/pinks/golds], add a vinyl letter to each, make them look like characters, etc. The possibilities are endless.

I think you're on the right track with food gifts, though. Everybody loves food. A cookie assortment? Biscotti? (I just made some, LOVE it.) A 'bark' of some kind? Then all you need is a cute package for it and you're done.

I was just going to buy a bunch of things on Amazon but noticed the advertising for Black Friday so I think I will wait! I am going to surf this weekend and get some ideas!

Chalkboard paint seems to be crazy big thing right now, make ANYTHING into a chalkboard. Also, distressed signs with a special quote. HUGE right now and I think seem very easy to do.

Ordered some kids clothes from children's place all clearance for dear niece and for Christmas family. Free shipping too. $30 got 5'pieces including one super cute summer dress which I may hold onto for her birthday in May.

Putting in two orders for gifts tonight. One to a friend who sells Scentsy and another to Steeped Tea (joined on a kit promo to sell to myself). Direct sales pricing for Scensty but supporting a friend and The Steeped Tea is discounted for me. While pricey, I have (almost) always been pleased with my direct sale purchases.

I made a thread in the Parents forum, but I thought I'd try here too.

Any suggestions for great toys or board games (~$30) for 8 and 9 year old girls? It's for a Christmas donation, so I can't ask the girls or the parents for ideas.

    Thanks!

Maybe something Shopkins related? All the girls around that age I've taught are obsessed with them...

Walmart has their seasonal aisle full of holiday candy, so I picked up stocking stuff for DD: huge kinder egg, lifesavers book, and chocolate alphabet letters, plus candy canes for my students

I've looked at two toy flyers this week-the Walmart one and Toys R Us one. Do I ever wish I was a kid again!
Mind you $229 for a Simpsons house or the Kwik E Mart set is awfully steep (Walmart online exclusive).

Toys R Us has coupons in its book. There's one for this weekend, when you buy past a min. amount. I noticed that the Hasbro old favourite games have updated box art-there's a Minions Operation set, Connect Four, Monopoly. Girls still like play money!

I have no idea what Shopkins is but since other members have posted about Dimensions (figures for Wii games), I noticed that Toys R US has Unikitty from the Lego Movie for $14.95. I don't know the Wii games but I remember some of the lines Unikitty had in the movie--the figure would be a fun memento of the movie for me.

Playmobil seems to have its own take on the Friends sets by Lego-there's a modern luxury mansion for $115... http://www.toysrus.ca/product/index.jsp?productId=63207076

Hey, there's a food truck set! Talk about timely trends! http://www.toysrus.ca/product/index....uctId=66200366

I'm doing coffee mugs with the kids for the grandparents. Going to get each girl to do a side.

And apperently I'm making matting and frames for the pictures I got done, since I can't find find frames with right amount of picture slots in the right orientation.

And debating on making soap or lip balm if we need to kill an afternoon.
