Organizing a cookie exchange and craft afternoon for the females in the fam! Did some pinning on my holiday board...it includes ALL holidays but I thought I would share.

Recent pins are at the top! I plan to put out supplies and let ppl choose their craft with pictures as samples on display for inspiration.
I may do a preschool morning for friends with kids too, hence the kids crafts you see."There are more important things--friendship and bravery...."

I actually started Christmas shopping yesterday. The joy of shopping online is fantastic! Free delivery and no crowds and will be wrapped by the weekend. Two down and three to go.

I'm not sure where I posted this...I get so turned around sometimes on these threads, but Amazon.ca has a pre-Black-Friday sale on now with some very good deals in a wide variety of items. Just head over there and click on the top banner.
Hope you find something you need for Christmas!

Bought mom a white fleece zip up top with quilted front. Thought it would be nice for warmer winter days, as she doesn't like big bulky coats. Mom called this morning mentioning RCSS has 5x7 rugs for $49 for dad for his tv room. Also have an 8000 pt offer for housewares wus $40 so timing is good. Will go tonight and check them out. Started doing the big pre Christmas clean. Cleaning out kitchen cupboards and reorganizing. It's like Christmas, I keep finding things I didn't know I owned!

I love the food truck!
I keep finding little this and thats while thrifting for my sister. She is SOO easy to buy for. But spent the weekend with my carpenter bf and ruled out a project I had considered. Turned out to be $300+ in supplies. She is a Dr.Who fan and longing for someone to build one for her for a few Christmases now.

We used to do cookies/sweets exchange between us sisters, but now that each of us has our own families, that just stopped...
I just finished reading this heartwarming novel about a cookie exchange that had been going on for years and years, mostly with the same members - they have rules and all, but lots of fun - it was a great read, as they each told their story about why they chose that particular sweet to bring (so it went into their background story) - and there are recipes. I like that each woman brought 13 dozen, 12 to share, and a dozen from each woman that would go to their chosen charity.

Took advantage of the awesome weather and did my front porch urns this afternoon. Bought 3 birch branches thinking that I could cut them in half and have 3 for each urn but decided that they would be to short. Didn't want to spend another $15 so had some regular tree branches Ina pile in back yard to took watered down white paint and an old toothbrush and lightly dry brushed them to look like the birch...decided they were too white so rubbed dirt into them and they look pretty good. Then ran around the yard with clippers and cut cedar branches, different types of evergreens like frazer fur, Australian pine, weeping Cyprus and holly, added in some kiwi vine branches and ivy and they look great. Will add in a bow and some Christmas balls on Friday and all done! This seems to be an off year for my holly...not many berries. Last year they were loaded with berries? Too bad.

If anyone is planning to make those homemade turtles, don't. Just save yourself the headache. I tried last year and it turned out horribly. So messy.
Maybe if you're a wizard you can make it look like what they made and have the proper consistency of a turtle but for the average person it's just going to kill you a little inside trying to make it work, lol.
