Yes...there is a lot of things we all do personally, but we can't assume everybody else does the same, as you so rightfully pointed out. Like you said, "there is something to be said about the people", who choose to watch fluff over stuff that challenges your cerebral oblongata

Some say to legalize small portions of Marijuana. Look at what is happening with booze in Alberta
A pizza shop in Edmonton has been under investigation for the past month.
Northwest Community Beats officers received word about an unlicensed establishment in the area of 97 Street and 119 Avenue allegedly was selling alcohol after hours.

On CBC radio's The House yesterday (6 min), and this morning's Sunday Edition (20 min) - very good info on what happens if there's not a majority, etc.

Fawlty Towers......Manueeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel
U.K. comedian John Cleese is the latest world celebrity to cast a vote via Twitter in Canada's election.
Cleese commented via Twitter Oct. 16, saying: "A wave at my Canadian friends … Could we have another Trudeau please?"
While it may not be technically legal, nothing is stopping the wry advice sent with a tip of Cleese's bowler hat to the ghost of Trudeaumania from clogging Canadian Facebook accounts. Cleese is not the only celebrity to urge a vote for one party or another.
Barack Obama campaign adviser David Axelrod also tweeted support for Trudeau.

So these will be the final numbers from CBC Polltracker.
http://www.cbc.ca/news2/interactives...015/index.html
Not much change from yesterday, still a 5% lead for the Liberals and likely a Liberal minority. The seat projections give the Conservatives and Bloc an additional 2 each, the Liberals 3 less and the NDP with another loss. Still a healthy seat lead for the Liberals. 137/122/73/5/1 LPC/CPC/NDP/Bloc/Green.
I wonder how many party leaders will be announcing their resignation tomorrow night.

I think it goes without saying that if there is no final result, the incumbent gets to stay in power until there is a result. It's akin to going into overtime in any game or shootout in Hockey

From Macleans RE post election survey from the last election
So either they chose a very bad sampling for polling or people just lie when polled
