Costco always has good deals on "stuff" I received the Christmas cards from Heart and Stroke too! They were really nice! Wish they wouldn't waste $ sending me that.

Good luck @YOU AND ME would it be beneficial to rent or purchase a cheap heat gun to loosen the glue? just a thought that may save you a lot of time. $50 not too shabby for babysitting cats indeed

    Good morning all,

It's a beautiful sunny day here. Yesterday we had ice pellets and it was cold, the boys wore their winter coats.

Bedding is washed and hanging out to dry along with a load of fuzzies (sweaters, pj pants, etc).

I've washed 1/2 the walnuts and have left half not washed. It will be an experiment as washing them has been the most time consuming part so far. In my searches some say to wash while others don't say to do so. So I'll know with the experiment if there is a difference either way. Removing the husk only took 1 hour which was great considering how many I had. I will post pictures later.

The husk on the butternuts don't need to be removed until they are black and fluff off which is great news as the husk is much thinner and hard to remove.

I've worn rubber gloves while handling the nuts and well I suppose it did help, however, my hands are a beautiful walnut color (haha). I guess the stain will wear off in time.

    Wishing everyone a fantastic day.

Good Morning, busy tv night with the jays and the election. Lots of surprises!!
I ordered a pressure canner yesterday, my big splurge, actually my husband bought me one for Christmas last year but it wasn't compatible with our glass cook top so after much reading I found one and am excited to start canning after a long hiatus. Antipasto is first on my list to make!!!!
I am bummed I have to work this afternoon/evening and will miss the Jays game, hope they kick some butt!!
Sweet Sparrow hydrosense makes saline nasal spray for little ones, it was lifesaver for me when my son was a baby, he has a heart defect and was always sick with colds/respiratory issues. I agree with Natalka that a cool mist humidifier is better than a warm one. An emergency doctor told me never to use a warm one as bacteria can build up in them and make things worse. That might not be accurate but I have always remembered it.
have a great day everyone, the weather is so nice here, I plan on doing some yard work this morning as soon as the chill leaves the air!!

If the nose is plugged the saline won't work and travel through the nasal passages. But I imagine it will still loosen some mucus. The solution was found on the clearance shelves, but you can also find it with the cold medications and baby Tylenol. There are specific ones for children.

It's salt water in a bottle that is perfect to squirt up your child's nose. I think the Hydra sense has a nice application system which is why parents like it. I just hold my kids in a gentle headlock. 😉

My neighbour invited me over for fresh home made borsch for lunch today. Yum. Dh doesn't like beets, so I don't tend to keep them in the house.

I sorted and labeled boxes of baby girl clothes. I picked up 3 garbage bags full for free and just now got the boxes and time to sort through it all. Baby girl slept the entire afternoon away. I don't know if she's not feeling well or if she is just having a growth spurt. She's still her usual happy self. She rolled over for the first time this weekend. Her twin brother was early at rolling and has been rolling from his tummy to his back for quite a while now. He's bigger and stronger than her. Baby girl weighs about 9lbs and baby boy weighs about 11lbs. I also sorted, recorded, and put away the boxes of diapers that I have bought in the last while.
