I have to agree with Lizzie, when we went shopping on Friday it was surprising how slow the stores were. Great for me but I expect total chaos but no in RCSS walked right up to the cashier in Wal-Mart 1 person in front of us. In and out quick and easy

Last time I went it was crazy...but it was seniors day at SDM. No disrespect meant, I think everyone over 55 decided to do all their errands after SDM.
I have 3 dozen birthday cupcakes to bake tomorrow for DD's party on the 23rd. All ready for Christmas...just a few thinks for the party (which is at an indoor playground)."There are more important things--friendship and bravery...."

Dh and eldest are out doing their Christmas shopping.
I called shutterfly and received full reimbursement for my order as it has not yet arrived and according to them it won't before Christmas which is disappointing since I place the order on November 30th.
Also got a $23 refund from amazon.ca as a few items have gone down in price since placing my order.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that 1 of my deposits (pays) are early in the bank vs. the end of the month....SO it's a great day.
Wishing everyone a fantastic day.2019 is the year that we continue to save before we buy!!!

Sounds like a good day. Government pensions are always deposited early in December. It`s nice if the money is needed for last minute shopping.
Called my niece (nephews wife)tonight. Was going to take her daughter`s gift down. Thought she sounded really strange. Turns out, her mom died during the night. They knew it would happen soon...so glad she got to spend time with her on the weekend.

sorry about the loss in your family crochetlady -its hard this time of year
watched ashlyn yesterday -my daughter-in-law told me about santa coming to a tim hortons in their town on dec22 from 10.00 to 1.00-so we headed over at 9.30 and found one vacant car parking spot -bought ashlyn a tim bit and hubby had a coffee-they asked for food donations or money donation going to tim kids foundation so I gave ashlyn some money to drop in -well when santa came at 10.00-it was so cute to see she went up to him as he came in the door and said hi
-then she sat on his lap and hugged him and snuggled into his beard soo cute I took 4 pictures -then other kids came and seen him and again she wanted to sit on his lap -he asked her what do you want santa to bring you "George" she said peppa pig George -she is obsessed with that cartoon -she got a big peppa pig in oct for her birthday that goes to bed with her at night
-son called me last night and I said "your daughter was hogging santa " he laughted -oh and santa gave out a coupon for a free hot chocolate for the kids which timmies provided -nice event
then we took her to the park cause our weather is awesome -and she jumped in the puddles
-when I came home was sooo tired last night -all my bones ached didn't even come on here at all yesterday
-so went to bed early after talking to my daughter -she is all excited as her and hubby are going to Italy on boxing day for 2 weeks -so happy for her she deserves this she works hard in life (she is even staying at 2 other peoples condo's -cheaper than hotels) nice to see a bit frugality in my daughter -hey she has always worked the shoppers points way before me she got me on to shoppers then I seen the lightLast edited by coupon girl; Wed, Dec 23rd, 2015 at 08:19 AM.

Good morning, everyone.
Still recovering from the party Sat night (my friend and I figured we'd been on our feet 17ish hours before we called it a night). A couple of grumbly neighbours (why is it starting so late, why don't you have a or b or c, etc), but for the most part, all had fun. The food got devoured, so couldn't have been that bad, even with me in the kitchen heating things up (I'm sooo not domestic).
Off to my Mom's later today, after I help out at the theatre. Brats have already packed up their things and are waiting at the door - seems someone overheard me talking to my friend about chauffeur services and is excited. Forget Santa, car rides are far more exciting.
Still have a couple of presents to wrap (forgot about a few little items - it's hard to wrap when one has a feline assistant who is obsessed with the ribbons one tries to use).
I should be back online this year. Critters might decide to stay with my Mom and have a longer vacation (it can be hard to drag the sort one away from the catnip plant).
Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas! We'll be having cabbage rolls and strudel (other items mentioned, but those are the ones that I'm excited about). And liver treats. For the brats, not the humans. At least, I hope not (I haven't been *that* naughty this year).

Trying to get everything done today for tomorrow. So far the following are done and ready to go:
Chai Truffles (recipe was off still a little soft so I have them in the freezer)
Peanut Butter Cheesecake Balls
Pecan Pie Bark
Nutella Fudge
Lemon Cool Whip Cookies (Not a fan but will see what the fam thinks)
Vanilla Pudding Cookies
Still to be made:
Butter Tarts (These are for Mom to make, I don't make them but she promised half bro some after I didn't bring them to the last manager meeting)
Cranberry Pavlova (Cranberry curd made, just need to make the meringues)
Also something cheesecake, thinking chocolate, the whole fam goes wild over cheesecakes
I think this is enough, I have other items I could make but I do not think my sanity can handle much more. I lost one day as I wasn`t feeling well so my schedule went a little out of wack.
Time to fine a cheesecake recipe, have a great day everyone

Yesterday I baked a dozen mini pecan pie tarts. Today we baked 5 dozen sugar cookies. I haven't made sugar cookies in so long that I had to research a recipe and buy the cookie cutters. My neighbour was over with her 4yr old son while we made these. They are pretty yummy.
