I did that when Mom had a second fracture cast and the colour to her hand around the base of thumb and fingers were restored to normal within an hour after asking the RPN to make sure Mom was more comfortable (not that the specialist cared or stuck around). Mom had a horrible 2-3 weeks with first cast and complained of pain as well and the skin looked like a sulky bruise where Mom was feeling pinched (this was during a June/July humidity spell as well).

I certainly can't wait to get better and I hope everyone else here does too (*and all furry friends included). Two days ago, I was up until 4:30 AM coughing until I gave up and took a spoonful of Buckley's. Last night I was up until 3:30 AM coughing, plus one spoonful of Buckley's. I'm hoping to get a bit more sleep tonight.

Well, another financial boo-boo happened. I can't help but wonder if my head wasn't such yogurt these past few weeks if I would have caught it. DH didn't contribute anything to his RRSPs in the past year, which means that the amount owing on his HBP needs to be declared as income. His piddly refund quickly turned into an amount owing. Luckily, he had next to nothing in RRSPs until I met him and convinced him to put a small bit in.

I think after we get financially sorted next month, things will be back on track. Only three more weeks until my big news now!

@coupongirl: Yes, it's hard to hold yourself back from getting our little toddlers something once in a while. I have to put blinders on when we go out.

Found the benefit in having subscribed to Rexall's e-newsletters-the flyer preview! Tomorrow's flyer shows that several Rexall and Be. Better product categories will be on sale. So I have to see if that hand cream in the Be.Better skin care line is 20% off tomorrow. For Air Miles fans, some of the store brand items have bonus Air Miles points.

Checked on one clothing sale date and found it posted for April 30, which is two weeks later than last year's. I'm going to be tempted to spend my $20 budget on something else well before that date. I am going to suggest to SC members not getting Kijiji pickups or sales to consider looking at their local area for sales that allow you to rent a space/table for a morning in a community sale to see if your items sell to people who attend the sale. I do read the Friday Too Good to Miss section in the Spectator as well for upcoming sale events so I don't miss a potentially good one.

Plan on making another coffee cake to use up frozen berries and eggs. Probably will have pasta for dinner unless I find soup more interesting. My earlier baking and braised vegetables are all consumed. CT sent me a sale alert that a muffin pan I'm interested in will be on sale tomorrow. Hmm...

@Sweets parrow - you are still going strong despite that coughing. Wish I could send you a pot of cash to dispense with financial worries and set you up for a salt cave session and holiday in Ontario! Since you are looking out for everyone and yourself, sometimes things get by when illness is present. Any chance you have someone willing to be you for a day so you can take a sick day at home?

Went to No frills at lunch since I found my coupons. Country Naturals bacon is on for $3 a package and I had 600 PC PLUS pts per $4 spent. So bought 4 less $2.50 each coupons. $2 cash plus received 1800 PC Plus points. And then I can buy the Maple Leaf Bacon on Saturday at RCSS $2.50 less $2.50 coupon. (Now I don't have to buy the bacon crumble for salad. I will cook up a few packages and save for salad)

@YOU AND ME - sad to hear your wrist is still broke BUT happy you went to get it checked out ESPECIALLY when you are feeling the way you are. Has your doctor sent a referral for an assessment or talk therapy. (Hugs)
@Crochetlady sorry to hear that things are still dragging on, yeast infections are awful I had them chronically before I had the kids and the itch and the burn are dreadful hope you get it cleared up quickly....as they say when it rains it pours (sucks). Really wishing you feel better soon
@lilo0003 great that your young lad is cooking, it will make things easier when he's on his own AND his wife will be very grateful
@lizzie bargain hope you feel better soon

Logan had his appointment last evening took advantage to run into SDM had an offer and needed milk, lunch snacks etc. Really taking advantage of the sales and my offers. I already have 127K in points

Then popped into Freshco for water and a few odds and ends.

Rec'd a call this afternoon from PC financial offering me the elite hard so happy...more points to save up for Christmas gifts/shopping. We used all our pc points & sdm points last year for Christmas and what a god sent that was financially.

Supper tonight is pizza & fries for the kiddos and homemade pasta sauce (made from tomatoes from the garden) from the freezer, easy peasy and so tasty....Dh loves the sauce and he's not a pasta eater so win win and cheap meal with leftovers for 2 lunches etc.

    Wishing everyone a wonderful evening

I just realized I need to get laundry done, we leave early Saturday to drive to South Carolina. I stayed up,to get one done and into the dryer, it's times like this I hate the Time of day use.

@Ciel: Surprisingly, there aren't a lot of volunteers for my position. It's not very glamourous, there are few breaks and long hours for no money. There are savings to be had, but DH is completely not interested in money matters and no one nearby to mind LO. That's okay. I hear these years go by quickly, so I'll take all the toddler hugs and kisses while they're available!

A pot of cash? That would certainly make you my fairy godmother! April should ease things up a bit, though I do wish we won a six figure amount in the lottery like DH's brother. Funny, because I was just telling him how mathematically slim the odds were of winning the lottery and he goes and wins that much.... Apparently his odds are better than being struck by lightning twice.

I certainly wish I felt as strong as you think! The only time I have felt strong these past weeks was through the snowstorms we've had, plowing the stroller through. After I finally managed to lug the stroller up the front steps, I said huffing and puffing:

    "Is Mommy a supermommy?"
    LO replied: "No"
    "Mommy isn't?"
    "No, you're not a supermommy. You're Superman!"

I guess Superman trumps all when you play with the daycare boys.

@jasperandchar: Congratulations! It didn't seem that long ago that you got the PC card! Now you can use the PC card at SDM and get even more points.

Hi friends. I am trying to help my food bank win some meat for Easter.

If you feel inclined to help by even voting once it would make a difference.

Here is the link to the contest thread:

Hugs. I have been reading, just not commenting much. Kinda tired after my course and needing to rest but also find the momentum again.

    Good morning, everyone.

So, the good - Lily dog is on the mend and tried to play with the neighbour doggy, Quincy cat is his usual obnoxious kitty self (I gave Lily dog some cat food yesterday as a treat since she's still underweight from not eating while she was paralyzed, went to make my bed and heard a slow crunch instead of the hurried shlush-gulp when Lily eats, so went to check and found the poor girl crying in the corner while Quincy cat had his face buried in her bowl), the weather is nice and I'm more-or-less healthy (we won't mention my stress levels).

The annoying - I have my annual tune up over the next 2 weeks, so I can't be with my Mom on Monday (first day of my testing) when she has to go in to hospital to have a shunt put in to drain the liquid that keeps building up and pressing on her lungs.

The ridiculously annoying leading to me seeing red - even though my Mom lives a block away from a hospital, and even though Toronto has some of the world's leading specialists, the cranky third specialist (since every millimetre of the body has to have its own specialist these days, it seems) insists that my Mom has to go to Oshawa to have the procedure done & possibly all follow-up treatment. Sigh. She had a last minute appt yesterday to go in to have fluid removed - I couldn't have gone with her if I wanted to, since it would have taken me longer to get there, so bff's Mom took her (other bff - of travel fame - had a previous commitment). Doctor didn't care about these factors, insists she must go to Oshawa and that someone should be able to take time out of their busy schedules to take her (yeah, cause it's so very easy for me without a car to take her, or bff's Mom, who's 83 and just lost her husband, to drive to another city). I am not a happy camper, to say the least. The first 2 specialists were very sweet and organized (I put in a call to the receptionist at the first specialist, who is going to see what can be done, when I explained the issues), this last one, not so much. Sigh.

So, at this point, not sure what is going on. I'm waiting to hear from someone (told my Mom that if someone calls, to redirect them to me) to see what is next. If she has to go to Oshawa for the procedure, I've secured a ride for her, but it can't be for regular treatments, that is just not doable (I go back to the fact that the specialist she is seeing is in Toronto - last I checked Scarborough is in Toronto - so she shouldn't have to go out of town for treatment, sheesh). She doesn't want me to come home right now (I think the brats might be too much for her), but we'll see. If she needs help, then I'll go there. For now, it's wait and see.

On the plus side, she sounds much better with the fluid removed yesterday and is less stressed than me (I think we're both lying to each other, but meh). I'm off to the theatre tonight for a bit of stress relief - please let there be no emergency like last week - then friends are coming by tomorrow to distract me.

Sigh. "What doesn't destroy me makes me stronger." Right now I want to throttle Nietzsche.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day. I know I will try to (the weather is lovely, if grey, the brats are happy, I'm alive and kicking).
