on hold with Smuckers atm about the 2 Jif recall products I am hoping they will reimburse me for. They said the wait could be up to 15 minutes. Yawn......

    UPDATE:

It took 1.5 hours on hold BUT woo hoo! Very understanding and efficient CS rep served me.
I recited the UPC and lot numbers to her, coupons are coming in the mail for both jars.
What stressed, busy days the CS reps are going to have at work.....I wanted to let them know
I was NOT changing brands, this will pass. She thanked me for my loyalty.

guess who just got power back after it being out the entire long weekend...

Hope everyone had a safe weekend, and hoping if you lost power it came back on relatively soon after it went out.
...and I guess if it's still out for you...you wouldn't be browsing on here...

WTF??!! Oh @danger_dan I'm so sorry you were one of the unfortunate affected so badly from the sudden ice storm.
Are any of your freezer contents a write off? That is always my first concern here.
How about foliage? garden plants/flowers? I trust you and the Mrs. were not physically harmed?
Did Cooper freak out at the sound of the high winds and hail?
    Sorry....a minefield of questions here.
Glad you have your " juice " back.

    We're all safe and sound.
Copper felt the first few drops of "regular" rain, and made his way into the garage just as the torrent of rain hit and wet his tail as he trotted into the garage. He was fine with the storm...he actually just laid down on his pillow and watched the storm.

We were incredibly lucky and had zero property damage. Nothing other than a slew of tiny branches on the lawn (small enough that I'll just much them when I cut the grass)

Food wise, our deep freezes (2 large ones) held their cold temps, we just didn't open them.
Our fridges, we alternated on the generator to keep them cold-ish.
We didn't 'lose' any food, but we decided to toss things like lunch meats and the milk...just in case.

DD and I were at a softball tournament. The bottom of the 1st inning has just started when the skies opened up and dumped a load of crap on us. Then the winds came and started hurling the crap at us sideways. Thank goodness for the cinderblock washrooms that sheltered us from the majority of it - first outside the building and then finally we were able to get inside the ladies room. I've never been caught outside in the middle of it before. In cars, sure, plenty of times, but not on foot.

Good morning, busy week, chiro today, eye(s) surgery tomorrow.

Happy you southern folks got through that storm relatively unscathed. We just had big rain at night.

@GoJays , that "people coming into our lives" is absolutely hilarious! We're lucky to have such wonderful people at camp, not intrusive yet always ready for a good chat and gatherings which I do try to avoid most of the time.

Hubby, DD, SIL and GS all golfing later on a gorgeous day!

Enjoy your day, everyone! Time for toast with rhubarb jam I made from our rhubarb....one of the joys of spring!

@walkonby I was also successful today after 1.5 hours made the call at 8:30 am I was just about to hang up when the CS answered. I will also have my product replaced . The rep that I had was very nice after giving all the info from the jars she confirmed that it from the recall batch and was told to throw it out . It already thrown out.

    Nice balls @walkonby

Im glad everyone is ok with you’re wild weather! We just had a coup,E of days of sun and then back to rainy weather but I’ll take it, it could be worse.

Dh is back to work today after viddy came to visit him so I have the place to myself which means laundry and vacuuming. All the fun stuff. I have to clean the shower and then tend to my garden. My lettuce is INSANE and needs to be eaten.

Hoping the sun comes out later today so I can go for a walk.

    Have a great day everyone.

Oh brother! @Darth Penguin ...this not having power has become more than a minor inconvenience. The storm must have really damaged the power lines in your area. Was there much waste with tossing out freezer foods?

Hooray! @flemeth it takes a bit of waiting to get the call answered but their CS people are very efficient and also polite.

    @harbie tee hee
the size of the hail balls were an anomaly for us .....for about 15 minutes....then much like a dog we became distracted.....SQUIRREL! Figuring out what got ruined became more important than gawking at the ice balls.

I agree you're lettuce does look insane!
