DD and I were at a softball tournament. The bottom of the 1st inning has just started when the skies opened up and dumped a load of crap on us. Then the winds came and started hurling the crap at us sideways. Thank goodness for the cinderblock washrooms that sheltered us from the majority of it - first outside the building and then finally we were able to get inside the ladies room. I've never been caught outside in the middle of it before. In cars, sure, plenty of times, but not on foot.

Wow! @GoJays you and DD were exposed! In the outdoors when this happened. So glad you found a solid structure to huddle under.

Oh brother! @Darth Penguin ...this not having power has become more than a minor inconvenience. The storm must have really damaged the power lines in your area. Was there much waste with tossing out freezer foods?

It was mostly fine. I threw out some of the food at the top but most remained frozen. I did throw out most of of my fridge though.

Thank you, @walkonby , @flemeth . I didn't sleep well, for worrying.
Depending on the hour, I go from, "meh, I'll be fine" to "terrified ".

So no matter what your day presents, folks, no one is sticking needles in your eyes!😳

Rain here overnight and a few drips made their way through our bathroom vent, so that'll have to be solved before we head back to camp.

Everyone had fun golfing yesterday, DD had her best round ever and shot 46 after 9 holes. Not bad for someone who only golfs a handful of times each summer!

Mom's are serious when it comes to protecting their offspring AND their pets!

Good day my friends! I come in peace!
ItÂ’s nee awhile as getting old(which could be a whole thread in itself)and because often when I sign into SC I am sucked into a gambling site so I get offline ASAP.
IÂ’ve still been following the posts here and I am glad that for the most part we all didnÂ’t suffer like some with that storm.
Stuff not people can be replaced.
I hope and pray that our friend @Lynn49
is now done with her procedure and that all went well.
The body still aches but I am still walking (and running inside!).
Giving some of the news a pass, especially these last few days. I just donÂ’t want to go there as it breaks my heart.
The cat and I are enjoying the nicer weather outside each day. HeÂ’s just like a kid and goes exactly where you donÂ’t want him to go!
Already nearly dinner time! Where did this day go? (And June next week!).

Hi!
Thank you, @Skippy , and everyone, the procedures went quite well.
I mentioned to my Dr that I'm "one of those people who take a long time to freeze" (as was my Mom and is now also our DD), and he knew exactly what I meant, gave me an extra drop of freezing in each eye and gave me time to actually freeze.
So the procedure was like that contraption where you put your chin on to have that puff into your eyes, except I had lasers drilling new holes into the back of my eye, about 6-8 zaps and although it wasn't at all unbearable, it did pinch, and felt a little burning. I'm not sure that's normal or if I wasn't fully frozen, yet.
But it's all done, and I'll likely never have to go through that again! 1/1000 he said may have to be repeated, but that won't be as scary for me next time if that happens. I just have prednisone drops to use 4x/day for 5 days.
So all in all....if anyone has to have that done, it's not scary at all and not worth the non-sleep I got last night from worrying!!

Skippy, I'm with you wrt the news; I put it on in the morning, likely CBC, then BBC, then Bloomberg to check on what kind of day our DD will be having, catch the highlights, and that's it. I can't let it all into my life.

Just relaxing now, the dull day has become a sunny day, so I may venture outside for a while.

Good to hear your eye procedure went well.
I know one sc member ( @Silk !! ) who is over the moon right now as her GSW beat the Dallas Mavericks.
They advance to play ??? on ????. I am not a very informed NBA fan, just a looky loo when things get exciting.
The Alberta NHL battle is very exciting!! Still a 4-4 tie in the 3rd period and our Blue Jays still have a 5-2 lead over the Angels.
@Skippy sorry that you still experience pain and struggle with the day to day of things. Your cat seems to be a wonderfully naughty source of distraction though.
I agree about the news in the USA atm, just too much. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

MUCH RESPECT for the New York Yankees for replacing their game coverage on TV with coverage of the shootings as well as facts regarding mass shootings and gun violence in the US! Apparently the team was deeply affected by this most recent one in Texas.
