So sorry to hear about your sons cat @walkonby , i hope U were able to get back to sleep!

It is Thursday already! DH has a periodontist appt, DD has a parcel to P.U. from SDM, then off to work in the afternoon, but me?? I'll be lounging around here today with no plans to cook on the horizon....lol.
Last night DH concocted a mixture that he and DS will take for their work meal.....He used the rice cooker CORRECTLY!! ( woo hoo! )....so mixed the cooked rice with chunks of kielbasa and then added frozen mixed veg.

I am reminded of some famous last words that my FIL said to my MIL during one mealtime when she inquired about how the dish was she had made for him........
he mumbled......
" well...........it'll make a turd of some kind "

Omg! That man can still make me laugh when I remember his reply.
Now truth be told I believe he was trying to be funny but I am sure my MIL was hurt by it, even if she retold the story a few times over.

Oh wow about that " pedestrian" who was killed on the 401 this morning!!? Imagine the trauma the driver had when he saw he could not avoid hitting her? Investigation should reveal wtf she was doing walking on the hwy.

DS took a mental health day off and his co workers ( a few older women who adore him ) were so sweet and generous with their condolences. They are probably furbaby-loving-owners themselves. So he and I chatted up a storm again a short while ago. This sad event somehow brought us a little closer.
o.k. tears are coming....so I better run!!

.. @walkonby ...your DAD!! hahaha!!! And your poor Mom....she'd surely have to own a good sense of humour to live with him.... In the early years of our marriage, whenever I cooked something that was less than stellar, I'd ask my DH what he thought of it, and the only criticism he'd give might be something like, "Well, maybe it should be a while before we have it again." hahaha!! I can take the hint!!

Oh, @Natalka , I'm glad that lion/lamb thing is a myth, because we are having one lovely "lamby" day today and I want the month to end like that, too!!It's -2, but it's sunny!!!

@Lynn49 lol, I remember cooking for my mom and usually I'm pretty good. One day I decided to make this lemon chicken thing. I told my mom be honest let me know how it is. She told me it was the worst thing she ever ate. Well I asked her to be honest lol. It only tasted like lemons but I managed to fix it a bit.

I saw a report of more snow for you southerners. Wow, you've really been innundated lately. @danger_dan, we had a melt yesterday.....heh, heh....

Well @Lynn49 , all of my snow has disappeared over the past week's+ thaw...
Also, the 'dump down' of snow we're supposed to get is supposed to impact the west end of the GTA really...I'm well far east of the GTA so we'll see if the white stuff makes it that way.

@danger_dan, on the weather report, there was snow almost to Kingston, definitely through Cobourg, so hoping you're past that for sure, although that far east may only get 5-10cm.

@avoncallingu and anyone else in the Toronto-Windsor corridor, be very, VERY careful out there if you have to leave home tomorrow morning. School closings likely in the Niagara region.

Hey there early bird crew

We did get the white stuff last night. @GoJays , the system looked massive! Not sure what happened though, although I'm happy we didn't get as much as forecasted. @Lynn49 , I'm east...but not as far east as Coubourg, and definitely not Kingston...Kingston would make for one hell of a commute into Toronto each day!

We ended up getting less than an inch on our driveway (mostly blowing snow), less on the roads, and virtually nothing on the 400 series coming into work.
Here's hoping the next few days of milder weather does this stuff in, in short order.


Going to be a busy day at work here, gotta get a bunch of stuff done as I'm not in on Monday or Tuesday.
The Lady and I are heading down to Nashville to visit with her Bestie and husband and our newborn nephew , born New Years Day.
