Oh my, great adventure. Not one I am likely to take. Severe Thunderstorm happening. Tootie decided that being outside wasn't worth the bother.
A friend dropped around we had a long chat. Now I have kind of lost my "oomph" Just watching a bit of TV and then will get back to work. I have done most of the laundry. I'm hoping that this is a "low" time for electricity since it's a holiday.
Will ask my brother over for supper and TV watching for the evening.
Hope your final day of the weekend is a special one.Last edited by avoncallingu; Mon, Aug 6th, 2018 at 03:28 PM.

Hahaha.....well, @walkonby , either it's mistaken that mower for tall, dark, handsome and noisy and fallen for it, or it loves freshly mowed grass! Too cute!!
@Newfiescreech , yep, they had a really great time! I hope you get to do the same one day!!! Ahhh, bucket lists...what else is on yours?
Does anyone else have a bucket list???

I guess I should start a bucket list. I would like to go to Ireland and Scandanavia, St. Petersburg.
Be able to prepare a meal where everything is ready at the same time.

I used to have a bucket list but that has long ago been trashed.
Milan is here, we just finished supper. He came after lunch, and has been sorting through some of the stuff in the basement, there since we moved.
He came up with a few folders, so we went through some memories. On my side, high school and University transcripts, cards, wedding invites, funeral programs, drawings and writings from when he was little. On his, samples of his writing and drawings - including stories he would tell me when he was three and four, and I would write them down right away.
That was a nice time to spend together!
Have a nice evening, everyone!

um....when's it bed time @Natalka ...? tisk tisk young lady...
Good morning everyone.
Back safe and sound from travels to the smokey north...
It actually wasn't that bad.
Like @Lynn49 said, the winds definitely cooperated this past weekend. We didn't see much of any smoke at all driving up on Friday, and really didn't smell much either, just a few whiffs of what smelled like a stinky camp fire (wet dirty wood).
It down poured for about 3 hours on Sunday, and kept a steady drizzle for most of Sunday night into yesterday, and then on and off most of yesterday.
But alas, that wasn't enough. I'm sure it helped out tremendously, but the fire still rages on. The crews seem to have it fairly well under control, although Parry Sound 33 is still listed as 'uncontrolled'.
The Lady and Cooper stayed up North for the week (vacation week) so I'm living the bachelor life this week.
I didn't read thoroughly through all the posts from the weekend, but it seems like everyone had an enjoyable time.
Have a wonderful day folks.
Back later.DANGER

Dan, I started trying to fall asleep after ten. To no avail.
I have had a bit of sleep so far, but much much more awake than asleep. I have stayed up now to be my husband's alarm clock at six, and will try sleep a bit more.
I think it's time to up the melatonin to see if it helps more.
Have a great day, everyone!

speaking of sleep....sometimes I just intend to watch a little tv in bed when the mysterious sleep hammer hits me!
I have no idea what that schedule I had going on yesterday was all about but once my head hit the pillow I was out for many hours.
I sure do feel ready to do something but can't seem to pick a task.
the list includes:
- complete sweep and then wet mop cleaning ( extra soap will be needed ) of the main living/dining room/front entrance way
( all these areas are trafficked by the 2 dog's )
- an overhaul of the stockpile room, reorganizing and inventory required here.
- reorganizing the kitchen dry cupboards, tossing out remaining dregs of uneaten but opened crackers/cookies etc.
- Serious full on emptying and cleaning of the fridge. Tossing mystery jars out.
- purging of both DH and my own closets....we'll never wear any of that stuff again
So there ya have it, I could have lots to do but just don't want to start.
Hope everyone who returned to work this morning is there bright eyed and bushy tailed!
Naw, I'm kidding...anyone who showed up at your work like that today just SMACK 'EM!!
