Hahahaha..., oh @walkonby , we're having the same kind of day; could it be the lousy, dreary weather that's unmotivating us??
I may just call it a day and head over to Micheals to poke around a bit.
Let's share this one:

@Newfiescreech, I was looking for a dessert recipe to treat the girls this weekend at camp...our DD has 2 friends joining her for a girls' weekend, one from the Sault and the other flying in from ThunderBay...anyway, I found a section in Pinterest for Newfoundland Recipes...192 pins! Thought you'd be intersted in peeking at them. The baked beans recipe #2 is so close to mine! So the rest MUST be yummy, too!
@walkonby, yep...DH printed off the coupon and hopped on his motorcycle to head over to Metro. Thanks for the head's up!
...saw this on that site:
For some odd reason, almost every recipe I've come across and 'pinned' today, has come from the web-site:
Rockrecipes.com, then it hit me: the "rock" he's referring to is Newfoundland! Duh!!
Oh, what a beautiful collection of recipes: I just pinned the pea soup with "doughboys", and the cod cakes!!
For the sake of our waistlines, I'll have to omit the doughboys..Last edited by Lynn49; Tue, Aug 7th, 2018 at 12:08 PM.

Wow, they should have a "Lazies" warning out as it is affecting the whole province. I have a long list of people to phone but after I found that the first guy is away in til Monday, it kind of put the others on hold. Started several little projects but Tootie keeps whining for me to come and sit with her-so I will blame my lethargy on her.
I was taking my BrotherR home last night when he remember ed he had left his phone at my place. Turned around and went back. Went in for maybe 4minutes and when I came out it was THROWING it down with rain. Came out of nowhere. I got soaked just going to the car! Thunder, lightning, huge downfalls all the way to his place. Then it slowed a bit while he got in and then huge bucket fulls again but as I got home, it had subsided and no more thunder but it was still hugely humid.
Bad Air day today out there for me - not too great a Hair day, either😁.
I am waiting for the highly anticipated call from the US CPA at 1:30 and then I can call Revenue Canada and plead my case to put off my payment for another few weeks. Then I will call Social Security who were supposed to call me yesterday but didn't -why am I not surprised?
I have some medical appointments to book. Hmm. Any bets on how much will get done?
It IS senior's day at Value Village today😈 30% off.Last edited by avoncallingu; Tue, Aug 7th, 2018 at 11:55 AM.

Ah. "seniors' day", THAT explains our lethargy today, @avoncallingu !
Good luck with those phone calls; I hope at least some of that paperwork gets cleared up!

@Lynn49 and any others who dashed over to get bacon.
update from MY metro store here was they did not have even ONE single pkg of any of Schneiders in the bunker. lol
BUT....they did allow me to grab whatever other brand I chose in its place, so I chose 4 pkgs of the Olymel Maple flavourded thick sliced version.

Got a bit more sleep, every bit helps.
Breathing is a bit rough, but not horrible.
Just finished doing a bag of dill, stripping it, chopping, and putting in little bags to freeze. I should have enough now to get us through the winter.
I don't want to wash my hands, they smell so good!

Oh Nat, I love the smell of dill, too. What do you use it in through the year? I put dried dill on mashed potatoes.

Oh, @walkonby, how inconvenient, but good on them for offering you another choice! My DH picked up 8 pkgs of the Schneider's bacon, so thank you very much for the note!!
@Natalka...oh, I can just smell that fresh dill from here! Which reminds me: why don't we grow the stuff? I wonder if somewhere along the line we tried and it didn't 'take'. We do have some wonderful sage (I use that in my dressing at Thanksgiving and Christmas), oregano, and mint (for my tea)! Oh. And mint juleps that DH promised to make me this week! (note: remind him to pick up the bourbon!) But dill is still my favourite...I remember my GodMother serving a bread roll that had swirls of dill in it...why didn't I ever ask her for the recipe, although I imagine any bread recipe would work.
It's HOT out there!! Hardly a time to go prancing around doing chores. OOutdoors. Indoors. Even if I have the air on 70.

Agreed, Lynn, absolutely anywhere!
However, the absolute best is with butter on new baby potatoes. I use it in the rice mixture for cabbage rolls, borscht, barley soup using rib broth - well, I usually put it in any homemade soup. In the onions sauteed for pyrohy, in the potato mixture inside, in lazy perogy casserole or perogy shells. In the cream sauce poured over beetniks. In a mushroom cream sauce used over buns, pyrohy, potatoes.
In nalysnyky, mixed with the cottage cheese filling; in buns which has dry curd cottage cheese mixture inside.
Great, now I want nalysnyky! Smachnoho! (Good eating!)

WHY would you say the word, "nalysnyky', Nat!! I haven't had that in years!! So many calories...our DD loves them, too.
Now I want some!! {{{Stomping feet}}}
