Good morning! Happy 🐈 urday!
Oh, how I miss my kitty!!!
Last night, such a bonus for me. Had a lovely night nurse who knew I was hurting suggested a shower would relax me and make me sleepy. So I had a shower at 10. Nurse and aide were much better with the lift than those last week, so all went smoothly. It felt SO good!
Weekends are quieter here, but that's okay.
Glad I am inside, windchill is -36.
Have a great day, everyone!

G'day, everyone!!
@flemeth , our charter doesn't preclude that someone who doesn't drink wine or any form of alcohol can't join. You're more than welcome to join us. You just have to master our hand-shake and pledge to hate snow in any form and find joy in every single flake that melts in spring!
@Natalka , I have so many joys and blessings in my life that I can afford to direct all my hatred towards that white crap.Great that you had that evening shower...I hope you had a lovely sleep after that.
Nothing on the agenda, -24 this morning so I doubt many people are venturing out today unless they absolutely have to. I don't have to.

^^^ ha ha Tell us how you really feel @GoJays !
Can ya believe this Murphy's law stuff??
Coldest day of the winter thus far and our furnace conked out last night! ARGHHH!! Was it all the bad mouthing I directed at the snow that caused this Technician came, examined the situation and ordered a part.
Uh.......
So....now we wait till the part gets here ( Canada Post I presume ? )
Then I must call and get another technician to come here and install it.
In the meantime NO HEAT!!!
Oven is now my best friend and the electric micro-furnace would be greatif I could remember where I stored it.
On a happier note, don't forget to rush out to Cineplex for you FREE small popcorn today ( just show your Scene card! )

Oh. Geez @walkonby - so sorry about that. We had it happen a few winter's ago, too. Git yet parka on!
So, is there anything more irritating than a nurse with vocal fry?
Methinks not!

Oh @walkonby ! Is there somewhere that you can go to stay? It's going to be SO cold! Do you have sleeping bags?
Well, I have taken the first step and put down a deposit on an apartment-got some boxes from the liquor store and taken pictures to help me plan.
I'm so glad you were able to have that bath, @Natalka - it sounds so comforting.
I'm pooped after the open house visit and then shopping today. Poor old Tootie is not liking what is happening outside.
I'm going to think about the evening and whether or not I will venture to church tomorrow. They need me in the choir for this baptism. We'll see.Last edited by avoncallingu; Sat, Jan 19th, 2019 at 05:16 PM.

One year our furnace stopped working on New Year's Day, so I feel your pain. My family seems to be unlucky around holidays though... basement flooding a day before we leave for vacation, tree falling in our yard, missing our house, on Christmas day and many more

@walkonby , I hope you don't have to suffer in the cold for too long. This is the first real cold snap that we've had... couldn't your dang furnace hold out til it was done? Damn that Murphy guy.
