Thank you for starting the new thread. I found info today about big Canada Day celebrations in our town on June 30, many of which are free. There are always the traditional Canada Day celebrations at a park near our home and in a town 10min away. It'll be something fun to look forward to.

Good morning!
June is going to be an extremely frugal month, due to us getting the used van a few weeks ago - and, of course, it's needed repairs.
Hope everyone has a FAB day!

Good morning! June already, wow! I took a chance and hung bedding out to dry this morning. Sky is blue but chance of rain. We will see. I had 19 KM's left this morning before I ran out of gas (I know it would still go but I don't like to run on empty lol) Since I have been using my CT Gift cards for gas I had PC Plus offer this week for 5000 PC pts with $40 in gas so I did that today. $5 in free groceries
Last night we made homemade burgers for dinner with ceaser salad. We made 18 patties total and cooked them all. My man used 2 in wraps today (gross!) and I will grab another 8 pack of buns so the boys can have leftovers tomorrow. We had so much lean beef/pork that we made a cookie sheet of meatballs as well and I cooked them in the oven last night. So the plan was to make quick pasta tonight. If not they will go in the freezer and leftover burgers it is!
We are going away for the weekend with sister and brother in law. Free concert tickets, hotel rooms and fancy dinners. Then I need a break and need to be home and get stuff done. Too much fun time!
A lady from a local church came into our office a few weeks asking if we were interested in a fundraiser they were doing. They were making and delivering lunches today so we all did it. Nice to help out and nice that we didn't have to worry about lunch today

I did a bunch of baking yesterday afternoon. I enjoy baking, it's a good distraction, and my grandma liked to bake when she was healthier. I experimented and bake chocolate chip oatmeal crusts in Purex pie pans, then added a cheesecake filling. I'm sending one to work with Dh today, along with a container of strawberry sauce. I also baked a pan of oatmeal chocolate chip cookies for the kids.
Our son son doesn't have Pre-K today, so he will have a 4 day weekend. It's supposed to be fairly hot for the next t week, so we'll use the water table and water guns outside.
Lunch: roast ham, KD, cucumber tomato salad, let the kids pick some fresh fruit (strawberries, apples, oranges, bananas, cherries)
Supper: chicken mushroom dill sauce with speghittini and garlic buns, baby carrots and cucumber slices.Help me out with Swagbucks and we can both earn gift cards and PayPal money

It's hot today, 32C. The kids played in the water table with new water guns and watered the vegetable garden. It didn't take long to dry their clothes on the deck afterwards. Dh got home from work late and was hot from working all day, so I took our son to soccer for the first time. It was interesting, not necessarily a good thing. The coaches are all volunteers and you can certainly tell who our coaches sons were. Dh has watched some issues before, but didn't tell me about it in advance of me unexpectedly taking our son to soccer tonight.

TGIF!!! Beautiful sunny day here but not sure it will last. Get this work day out of the way and then pack for a 2 night hotel stay. As much fun as I know we will have I wish I could stay home this weekend. Hope to head home early Sunday morning so I can get some things done around the house.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Dh booked today off work because he has an appointment this afternoon. He also booked next Tuesday off work because I have a bone density scan in Regina, Dh can care for our children for the day. I'm taking his truck and he'll have my van. I had a bone density scan done 3yrs into taking my injection bloodthinner. It is very uncommon for a person to take this bloodthinner for longer than the length of a pregnancy, so no one knows all of the long term side effects. They know that the IV form of my bloodthinner is known to be bad god bones, and I received that medication while in hospital in 2007. I've now been on this injection bloodthinner for 9.5yrs, so it's time for a new scan. I'm the person in SK who has taken this bloodthinner for the longest, so they pretty much write papers about me. There are a few people in Ontario who have been taking this medication for 15 or 20yrs. This is why I have such a high calcium diet and take a daily multivitamin.
Dh's annual work golf event is tomorrow, which the employees pay for. Someone is hosting a BBQ afterwards and Dh has been told to bring a meat platter and macaroni salad. I have an FPC that I can use on the macaroni salad. I might spend $100 at Sobeys tonight with their Blue Friday, rain checks, coupons, etc. I often go shopping on 10% Tuesday, but I'll be driving up to Regina that day...I won't know how happy the kids would be for me to leave them that evening to go grocery shopping. Anyway, we decided to book a babysitter so that the two of us can go to the BBQ without the little ones. I'll stay home earlier in the day while Dh goes golfing.Last edited by Angela273; Fri, Jun 2nd, 2017 at 10:47 AM.
