Good day! Hope everyone had a great weekend. I feel like I did lots- Productive and fun!
Our freezer is stocked and organized.
We made nice meals with leftovers that the boys enjoyed - Sat we had chicken on the bbq with potatoes and salad. Sunday we had roast beef with broccoli and mashed potatoes.
Leftover roast beef sandwiches for today's school/work lunches.

Sunday- We had sold concert tickets to the show at the casino last night so we went down to pick them up and have breakfast (free with coupons) Kids didn't want to come. We used free slot play we each had and made $1100 between the 2 of us and left right away! We stopped at Costco on the way home and bought a few things we wanted. The money from selling the concert tickets paid for our Costco membership and a few treat items and the balance ($340) is in our trip account. Was a great day!!!

Tonight- I have laundry to put away and continue (never ending). And should clean out my purses (I have 2 on the go) and a bin of purse contents! That is my chore tonight!

@Frugalbigmama congrats on the great wins. I always see you post about free dinner or entertainment at the casino and it makes me wish there were similar opportunities where I live. The casinos are 2hrs away and don't offer the same coupons, etc.

I'm supposed to meet with two potential daycare families this week. I'm hoping to get another signed daycare contract.

I'm currently outside with our kids. Today is the warmest day in the forecast. We received over an inch of rain between Thursday and Saturday. I'm hoping that frost says away.

I'm trying to stay on top of the fresh produce, especially the stuff from the garden. I've pulled chick drumsticks, chili, and cooked deer roast from the freezer.

I'm starting to get more freedom as my boys are getting older which is nice. it is our cheap entertainment. We don't smoke or bar hop so figure we are allowed We try to use the perks to our benefit.

Second coat of paint/primer is the charm with the light paint colour>tiny bits of green tint peek out but not as badly as last week. I used the last 1/3 of the pail to get ceiling, biggest wall and two small walls painted today. Had sticker shock when buying a small can to do the remaining walls-$23.99-tomorrow (with luck I'll maybe have paint for one coat inside the closet). Well, I certainly missed my chance to buy it at 25% off last week. I have a feeling this room is going to take two more weeks depending on how energetic I am in removing paint from trim or maybe windows. One area at a time...

Enjoyed two DVD movies yesterday and kept drinking water as the room was so humid. Cooked rice while I had two small meat pies in the toaster oven before the movies. That rice was handy with tinned fish for two meals today. I had purchased pop at Food Basics last night so I had refreshments to keep me going during today's painting session. Finished the official novel based on the Valerian movie-almost exactly like the movie except for two or three things I don't remember were mentioned in the movie.

Need new pants. Both current pairs have issues and obvious wear showing. No idea where to look for replacements as usual places seem not to offer what I need. OK Universe, pants help sought.

While the daytime weather is great, I am finding the earlier dusk/shorter day a tad annoying. Bugs bite before it gets partially dark yet temperature is still warm so long sleeves cannot be worn *unless we have a cold wind.* Yes, the bugs seem to get me every night that I do a walk.

@coupon girl Do you another code, I have at least one box with this promo and we don't need it. At 17 and 14 the kids would not be happy to be labelled.

Taking a vacation day Tuesday to hang with DH. He has just returned from 9 days in Europe and it was his birthday while he was away and we never made it out for our anniversary in June so we are driving down to Niagara for the day. This is something we rarely do and since he is not working we are taking advantage of it.

Well I did nothing at all last night. I had a massage at the end of the work day and it just made me so tired. My man was hoping to be done work at 6:30 but he decided he was ordering Chinese when he returned to the office and picked it up on the way Nobody should be cooking after a 12.5 shift

Tonight I will get at my stuff (my back is so sore today but I will power thru). Thinking simple dinner of eggs and toast for me and will make sausage to go with it for the boys.
So my plan tonight: Make quick dinner. Clean Kitchen. Put load of laundry on and put away the clean stuff.

I'm going to take out a family pack of ground beef tonight I think so I can make mini meatloaf (in muffin tins) So that will be dinner tomorrow night and hoping to have some to freeze for quick dinner for boys. Trying to make some easy pull out of the freezer dinners ready for the teen when we are gone to hockey.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Well the humid weather we were expecting today changed. Glad I didn't put the AC on at home.

Getting some good ideas for the boys for Christmas which I am happy about. Now we can look for deals and get Christmas wrapped up lol

I haven't been entering many contests, but I started playing the peel to reveal game last week. I won a $1 and a $2 off Laughing Cow cheese on the weekend. I won a free product this afternoon. I was happily surprised. We all like cheese, but I haven't bought this type before. It might be a nice addition to our son's Kindergarten lunch with pretzel sticks.

I love the laughing cow cheese. I use it on sandwiches instead of butter or mayo and I add it to my carrot soup to make it creamy.

Happy Hump day! I took peameal bacon out of the freezer last night for DS's lunch. His brother ate it. Good thing I had cooked chicken in the freezer

Found out our hockey tournaments for the season and we are having a cheap year!! So happy. Some years they are so expensive. (and they collect way too much money then "buy" stuff with the money that they shouldn't.) And our organization actually gave us money towards tournaments this year. And we are in one we sponsor so it is free entry. And if we win and go to finals (its in Niagara Falls again this year) then they pay for us which is nice. The only bad part is it is usually the 1st weekend in January and usually 5 days long! Bad time of year for me to be off for 2 weeks at Christmas then Jan 1st holiday then off to go away again. Oh well- it's the life of a hockey mom. I'm excited for this season.

I cleaned the kitchen this morning before we left so will be able to start dinner right away. Will be making mini meatloaf, fries/rice and veggies. Then kitchen clean up and start laundry. I didn't put a load in last night (didn't really have enough for full load) but I did put away all the clean laundry. Never ending. We are having a fun night Saturday (free show and dinner at casino with another couple- treating them) so I want to get all my chores done

Waiting for my hydro bill. Called yesterday and was told they were billing this week. I have a credit of $49.94 on my account. Thinking this bill shouldn't be too bad but did have the AC on in August a bit. I put the balance of my utility budget of $140 on the account so should have a good credit next month. I like to pay everything on pay day and be done with it.

Hope everyone had a great day.

lilo-hope you had a great time in Niagara on the lake with your hubby -my daughter took me to a winery for lunch in may and it was lovely
frugalbigmama--yes I love to pay bills as I get them ,but unfortunately a few have to wait this month because we took a trip and I am waiting to pay that visa in full
ceil-cant stand the little bugs at night and I just went to read the paper out back and the bees are driving me insane

-well I was up at 6.00 a.m this morning had to get Ashlyn off on the school bus as my daughter-in-law had to work early as she had a midwife appt today-I am trying to make myself a to-do list every day as I find I can just relax and read or do a puzzle
-is everybody enjoying these hot days in southern Ontario my 7 month pregnant daughter-in-law is saying she is done with it -lol
