How crafty are you??

I'm more of a DIY kinda person, I also enjoy making crafts that are useful.

When DH and I moved into our first apartment together (we are both just finishing up school) alot of your stuff was free from family or picked up off the side of the road. Of course when you are getting things for free you do not really have the option to pick and choose style, so I have been slowly re purposing or just updating the stuff we have now.

I only like making stuff I will really use or gifts. I don't like clutter so I am afraid I would end up with a cluttered house for myself. I made a FIRE STARTER KIT for a friends wedding shower.
I cut out exact placements for items to lay in a box. Made it look official with matching labels. Did it all in HOT pink and leapord. Each item was labeled with Directions. Also had a warning on the box that we are not liable for any fire out of control. In it was a bottle of champagne with directions of it being for a fire starter aid. Leopard panties, candle, massage oil etc.A black feather boa, chocolate body paint etc. Each item had legitimate fire starter names and description of a real one you would buy. When they opened the box there was a warning that I made look legitimate. Kind of fun. It was a hit. Thats the kind of creative stuff I like to do.
I made bath cookies once as part of a gift, they look and smelled real. People thought I was giving cookies at a gift and thought it was odd. I like doing that kind of stuff.

I WILL ask my hubby to load the couple of pics I took of my ruffled knitted scarves and a necklace I made for our DD for Christmas....BTW...she LOVED them all...amof, one gal at her work had one, and she asked her who made it, and was about to ask that person to make one for her!! VeeVee....I really DID make them, and I promise to get them on here!

Donna, your jewelry is lovely! I love polymer clay..I made some maple leaves for a conference I had in Toronto years ago..I used (iirc) a gold, tan, bronze and a weee bit of black. They were a hit...I surprised myself with how nice they were...I used pieces of foil to keep their shapes irregular, like fallen leaves, and glued a pin on the backs..I may have one hanging around here, still...if I find it, I'll post it, okay?

...I did mention it to him this morning, but there are NFL playoffs on and shows about the playoffs...so I HAD to help my teams win!! I'm an NFL-aholic! And there isn't a 12-step program out there that will ever do any good at trying to cure me....ahhhhh...so many NFL stadiums...so little time...but 2 down already!

I promise that by the end of tomorrow it'll be on here!
