Off to my moms to take her to lunch for her birthday. It’s a bit of driving but nice to be able to do normal stuff again. This means groceries and household stuff will wait until Sunday. I may go to giant tiger when I am in her town as we don’t have one here. It’s also a gorgeous day for a drive.

Late last night, I decided to update my Chapters Indigo Wish List. After several things from other sections were added or edited, I clicked on Shop Canadian (in the Holiday Gift menu on left side of screen). I discovered a cookbook aimed at new and expectant parents, with personal essays by the two authors about expecting, delivering, then raising their kids. The book was published this spring as How to Eat with One Hand. There are several personal essays by the authors on their journeys to parenthood and the realities of parenting. Plus lots of recipes for food (sour cream fans, take note, as it's in about 1/3 of the recipes for baking or cooking) and fun things to make with the kids (play/art/bath stuff). Be prepared for some laughter while reading the essays (I stayed up really late to read them all and skim through the recipes, as library has an e-book edition I was able to borrow last night;print copies have holds). Think the title ought to get out to anyone who is a parent or is on the journey to be a parent as a gift combined with a grocery gift card and a baby item. Wish I learned of the title earlier!
A sheet pan of chopped potatoes was roasted for lunch today. Randomly thought about baking and I forgot to start the cookie dough because I got the vinyl floor washed and other little tasks done while the oven was warming the place. Then after lunch and dishwashing, I totally skipped baking. Just not feeling in the mood-dishpan hands and whatnot (Bro will have a third week off of work--YIKES!!!)
I will give a little time to leaf raking in a small section this afternoon (last "long" daylight day for a few months). The big push will be on Monday to rake and bag most of the leaf drop. Cookies will be needed then-maybe for breakfast with tea.
CLOCK CHANGE tonight for most of us before bedtime (I try to do it around 9pm then get back to whatever I am doing).
Toy I ordered is now removed from the Bay's website. It is likely that of the two stores that had stocked listed, only one store actually did have the item physically in the store. So the listing is now gone.
Our Living Room is not quite ready for darker hours. I'll probably keep out of it more this winter and snuggle under my throws and comforter while reading in bed. Tea mug optional with hot bevvie nearby...ambition is going to be a big mountain to climb for the next few weeks.
For the lucky ABBA fans who acquired their new album yesterday and started to listen to the last songs they've performed. Enjoy your fabulous Saturday, everyone.

I cannot remember if I gave a stair update but on Thursday well I was at work Mom texted me they were here working on the stairs. They did not replace them but they are better, all of the steps are normal except for the top 2.
When I got home I was looking at them and I see the issue, it is like the railing on one side was installed too low. On the top two stairs there is no clearance so the railing is pushing the stairs forward. The top step still slants forward and the second one down because it that was one of the stairs they reinforced underneath just the front plank slants down, it is better but not perfect.
As well because our basement now has no insulation it is freezing down there already. They have confirmed they will be repairing the basements (putting the insulation and drywall back) but it won't be until June because we have to get through the spring thaw and rainy season without flooding. So I talked to my Dad and he explained to me exactly what I needed to do and hopefully this week I can borrow his truck so I go pick up what I need as it won't fit in my car. I really should have done it last week but there was not a day I had time and could borrow the truck.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

Good Evening Everyone,
Not a lot got done today, my sinuses are not happy with me today. I spent most of the afternoon on the couch wrapped in a blanket and took a few little naps.
I did get our cheese grated for the week, we needed Parmesan, Mozzarella & Cheddar and made Spreadables mainly because I needed it for my lunch LOL.
As much as I wanted to get more done, my body needed a day off so that is what it got. Hoping tomorrow I feel better and can knock some stuff out because this week coming is going to be busy for me.
Still working on the meal plan for the week. We were not very hungry tonight and it was getting late so we just made Nachos with Melted Cheddar, Homemade Taco Meat and toppings of choice.
I was looking over my grocery list for this week and will need to find some time to do some local shopping, there are sales I want to take advantage of.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

It was a long October filling in for a teacher on medical leave. Just before supper tonight the principal called and offered me a temp contract to continue doing this same job, but with benefits. I’m now on contract until November 29. It’s unfortunate that the administration didn’t have the forethought to give me the professional development training in recent weeks that the teachers on contract received. Good thing is that I’ll have medical and dental coverage for the next few weeks and it this contract might get extended. It’s not my preferred subject area, but it’s a job.

Good Morning Everyone,
Not feeling 100% today but feeling better and have ambition which is good.
I woke up wide awake at 3 am, not good but I did manage to go back to sleep until 5 am. Hoping the extra sleep helps get me back on track, feeling better.
I am not sure what my week will bring, on paper right now it looks like my week will be insane but as we also know it can flip on a dime so today I need to focus on some ingredient prep. I want to have stuff in the fridge so that I have a few meals I can just throw together quickly if needed especially if I am not feeling my best. I did find a couple of slow cooker recipes so those may come in handy this week.
Big goal for today is just to get everything I can organized. Do any ingredient prep I can so that I can just toss together meals.
Happy Sunday Everyone2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

Hubs and I have a date morning today-doing a Costco run-lol. DD boyfriends brother will be staying here overnight-he has been driving from Ont to Whistler where he will work and ski for the winter. As I recall 21 year old guys have good appetites-can't imagine he got much fruit and veggies with driving long days-but at least he has had good weather-and then to get through the mountains!

Morning! I woke up at 330 and stayed up till about 5. Then up after 830 to drive DS to work.
Grabbed a free coffee at Mcdonald's and just made myself some breakfast. Will wash up the dishes then put a load of darks in the washer and hang to dry when done. Then I'm heading into the garage!
Have a great day everyone!

Change in plans, I looked at the long range forecast and think I better change my meal plan. This week looks to be on the warmer side with cooler temps coming in next weekend. So, I think I will save the soup recipes for the following week.
Now to come up with plan B for this week. Not quite sure but plan B will be yet but maybe some time on pinterest will help.
I made Lemon Breakfast Muffins again since they were well liked in our house and I just bought another bag of lemons. As well as a One Bowl Apple cake to use up some of the apples I have on hand, I still have a lot of apples to use. Might throw together an Apple Crisp as we have Ice Cream, always a good combo. Thinking of making something Chocolatey too, I have a craving just not sure what to make yet.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

During the height of the Covid lockdowns I called l a trip to Costco an adventure. So I would ask dh if he wanted to go on an adventure and he quickly became wise to me. I went today and holy it was a madhouse. Usually I go alone and this time he was with me so I parking him in the line that was the longest I have ever seen and I did the shopping. I got lots of steps in but it was worth the crazy wait as they had the iPad we wanted for DS2 in stock and it’s been out of stock the last few times. So one kid is done for Christmas. Now I need to go for groceries. We have no roasts on hand and no sales or offers so I am going to have to just accept the prices and move on.
