Wow! I've never gotten to start the new thread for the month.
Happy Thursday! Yippee! It is almost Friday :)
I need to pop out and get cheese and paper towel since both are on sale and want to make sure I get some. (my cheese stock up is almost gone...DS loves his cheese.) I don't normally use paper towel but for some cleaning jobs I like it.
Didn't do any laundry yesterday (I was busy with work and didn't take any breaks) so put a load in the washer first thing this morning. Will hang it to dry when done. Then will put a load of white towels in the washer and try to follow through today (dry and put away!)
Cooking up ground beef now to make meat sauce. That can be dinner and leftovers will be put in the freezer for another day.
Goal today- Pull 10 items for sale and post on Marketplace. I need to get back at this to build the crap sold envelope! I have $60 in it from a few sales in Dec/Jan.
Have a wonderful day!
Just went to RCSS and the PC App was down. I didn't bring my wallet so couldn't use my card to get the cheese.
The lady checking out in front of me wanted to redeem points and couldn't.
I just went to shoppers seniors day for me spent over 50 so got a 10.00 promo for next time .This time i got 2 milk 4 litres .I noticed all the fruit in shoppers has gone up in price strawberries 30 cents etc ,maybe other stuff too.
I did get apples 3.99 a bag i paid -500 points =3.50 i had points on my bread a nd my lays chips also .
At least i saved on the milk and a few other items,oh and i id get a dented box of granola bars for 50% off =1.74.
Oh and my points card worked at shoppers.
OMG, I am seriously lol here. I am over in the January thread thinking were is everyone why do we have no action today. Then it hits me. Happy February.
I went to lunch at Panera today with my BFF and skipped the drink and realized I had 5.00 off on my card, they must have missed me. So my salad was $13.00. I am taking this as a win as we are leaving for NS soon so I won’t see her until March. It was nice to catch up.
RCSS soup sale on Swiss Chalet is back, after one week hiatus.
3x cans of 540mL Swiss Chalet chicken noodle soup for $3
TGIF!!!
Last night went out shopping with my friend. PM'd the broccoli at No Frills and received the 4000 pts. Will make a roast dinner Sunday so it is ready when they return home. Broccoli will be the veggie! Will invite the oldest to grab dinner on his break. (He is usually busy Sunday afternoon/evening with work)
Will get stuff off my work desk. Clean my office.
Put away clean laundry. Wash the dishes in the sink. Make breakfast later this morning. I am going to have the house to myself all weekend! Not going to lie...kind of excited :) My boys are going to a hockey tournament 3.5 hrs away. I would usually go but it would mean asking the oldest to stay here with the dog and I just didn't want to have to bug him to do so. Also we are dog sitting for my sister so I just want to make sure they are aren't lonely. I was thinking of going tomorrow to catch a game but that is a lot of driving for one game. Will be good for a Daddy/Son weekend away.
So I am taking advantage of DS being away and washing his bedding and work clothes! Will toss his bedding in the wash as soon as they leave so I can hang it to dry.
I used a salad dressing glass jar to collect toonies. Finally counted it yesterday. $490.00!! Now to roll it and cash it in.
Going out for dinner tonight with my bestie and then thinking Chinese food tomorrow night :) I'm a party animal :)
Have a wonderful weekend.
Good Morning Everyone,
Yesterday I had to go into the office for a meeting so I decided I would shop my way home but of course this week did not line up that the best deals were at No Frills.
But I did run into Suprestore for a few things including to see their price on Oregano Oil, there price is still $10.99 and I got the last bottle. I also grabbed:
1 x Mandarin Oranges 4lbs $3.99
1 x Mini Cuucmbers 11-pack $6 + 300 pts (grrr my cucumber offer is now 50 pts/$ instead of 100 pts)
2 x Artichoke & Asiago Dip $5 WUB 2
3 x Astro Yogurt $8.25 WUB 3
No happy that Loblaws has recuded the size of their "family-pack" Mini Cucumbers for 15/pack to 11/pack but since I do not know when I will make it to Costco, I grabbed them. Also we are almost out of Greek Yogurt which I buy at Costco so I grabbed some to get us through until I shop.
Then I went to No Frills and got:
1 x No Name Peppers 2.5lbs $6
1 x No Name Limes 2lbs $5 - 50% off stock $2.50 + 800 pts (100 pts/$ on No Name Veggies)
2 x Russet Potatoes 10lbs $2.44
2 x Blueberries pint $2.84 (PM Walmart) - I know Food Basics is a little cheaper but they were from the wrong place so I could not PM, my No Frills checks, they almost denied these ones because the packaging said Chille and USA but the supervisor said to go ahead because I did check and didn't see USA where is the cashier saw USA and not Chille.
2 x Dijion Mustard $2.49 + 500 pts (250 pts/bottle)
9 x Campbell's Beef Broth $1.69 + 1500 pts for spending $15
1 x SkyFlake Crackers $5.88 (PM Walmart)
4 x Gay Lea Sour Cream $2.49 + 2000 pts (50 pts/tub)
2 x Eggs 18-pack $4.99 (PM Sobeys) + 1000 pts (100 pts/$)
1 x Oasis Orange Juice $3.49 (PM Food Basics)
1 x Almond Milk $2.98 (PM Food Basics)
I bought the eggs to make Breakfast items for the freezer, but forgot to buy the bread Mom needs to the French Toast Casserole and the avacodos to go with the limes, so this morning I ran back and got:
4 x Broccoli $1.25 (PM Food Basics) = 4000 pts
1 x Avacodos 5-pack $187
1 x Hot Dog Buns 12-pack $3.49 - 50% off stick $1.74
They had none of the bread I was looking for even thought I checked online and it said in stock but they had to Broccoli they were out of yestrday. I did check Sobey's but there bread was $1.99/loaf vs No Frills at $0.99 and I need 6 loaves so no thank you and Giant Tiger has nothing so that may have to wait till next week.
I am sorry, I am going to rant:
Why does PC have to assign a Home Store, I get it, yes 80% of my shopping is done at No Frills, but when I work in our other location I shop at RCSS, why can't the offers be at any Loblaw Banner store, I got an offer to Vitamins which I would LOVE to use for my oregano oil but none of the No Frills close to me have a pharmacy and only sell like a handful of vitamins.
Happy Friday Everyone.

Cineplex Canada Offers: Enjoy $5 movies every Tuesday in February
https://hotcanadadeals.ca/cineplex-c...y-in-february/
Alas, I checked the listings and there's nothing worth watching, even for $5. They haven't had this price for 25 years. :)
Good day my friends!...and Happy February given the rodents predict spring sooner than later! I do hope they're right but was thankful to get out walking and taking in much appreciated sunshine!
QOTD do these sudden weather changes affect anyone else's body? just asking as I would like to think I'm not weird(at least in this respect cuz I maybe in others!).
Took a brief look at the "sales" but again much to be desired IMO, so glad I took advantage of what there was when I did because now it seems you can't necessarily count on any consistency from one week to another!
Whatever you're up to,wherever you are this weekend stay safe and well my friends!
@Skippy , I find the weather affects my head, today I have just felt pressure all day.
Made it through my work day, mid-afternoon all of a sudden I got super tired and the pressure in my head was really bothering me. All I wanted to do was lay down but I also wasn't giving in.
I think I have a meal plan for next week. I do not know why, I keep second-guessing it.
I had hoped to get some cleaning done today but did not get any done, so tomorrow I will focus on the house. Will also write a prep list I have some apples and blueberries to use so will do some baking for sure. Plus I have a bunch of produce to prep.
@Skippy if it wasn't for my birthday at the end of Jan. I'd say the entire month was hell. Physically I suffered tremendously ( joint wise )
and I say it WAS due to this up and down, back and forth with the temperatures. Deep freeze with no warning, then mild, then back to
the kind of cold that makes a man know he has nipples! Then rain, let's round it out with rain because arthritic joints love dampness.
I'm thrilled the groundhog has offered some relief in the prediction of an early Spring. This does sound a tiny bit like a rant... :hahaha: oops.
Good Morning Everyone,
Today is not going as planned, it has been a super slow start to the day. I woke up with a headache and no ambition.
Then I sat here for 2 hours knowing I needed to eat something but nothing sounded appealing so I just sat here spinning in cirlces. Finally decided on a slice of Everything Bread with some Cucumber Spread and Fruit Salad made from Pear, Clementine and Blueberries with a Lime & Honey Dressing.
I went on Pinterest to look for a recipe and went down a rabbit hole. I am not sure why, but I am craving all things sweet right now. Instead of finding the recipe I was looking for I planned about 6 sweet treats I could make.
I am torn on Dinner tonight, I cannot decide between Chicken Parmesan or Beef Stroganoff.
Honestly, I feel like I am in a bit of a funk. I feel like I am falling back into the funk of well I should but am I going too. Or knowing I need to make dinner but it is because I have to, the excitement to cook isn't there. So I am hoping to recoup and reset this weekend and start fresh next week.
Happy Saturday Everyone.
Just came back fro sobeys and dollarama
I decided to get the fruit tray at sobeys 12.99 as its cheaper than fortinos 16.99,plus sobeys had my schneiders meat pies on for 4.99 so got 2,then got a few other sale items used my 20.00 in scene points .
Spent 34.00 in dollarama they have aveeno body wash on for 5.00 which is a good deal,as i never see body wash for 3.99 anymore softsoap is often on sale 4.49.
Just relaxing before we go out tonight.Called my son and cara now has strep throat (goodness that little one is always sick )she is on meds as of yesterday .I cant wait to see what the ear nose and throat specialist says to my daughter-in-law next week concerning little cara-they have waited a whole year for this appointment.
@coupon girl, kids in school are germ magnets.
Also now we have kids in school who due to pandemic never developed a proper immune system. My cousin's two youngest, one is always sick and they pass it back and forth.
I invited my friends 4 year old triplet boys and 6 year old brother over for a play date. Boy they sure have lots of energy and eat lots. So much fun.
@SassyAshley and @walkonby thanks for your feedback! although nice to know I'm not alone with the weather and its affects I'm sorry that you have to go through it too.
Beautiful day in this part of the world with the most welcomed sunshine! Man does it ever lift one's spirits..I could just skip and break out in song!...right...
Indeed "sales" still lacking and we'll see if indeed Metro raises their prices as mentioned.Apart from sale items and whatever worthy Air Miles offers I can't afford to shop there on a regular basis. I feel for people who don't have a car nor transit nearby or can't use them, that have no choice where to shop :(
Lizzie ,triplets sounds like so much fun .Glad you enjoyed yourself.
Well, hair is curled and i have my fancy top on with dress pants ,off i go to a 75Th birthday -its a surprise also .
Good Morning Everyone,
I got nothing done yesterday, I feel the whole debate on breakfast pretty much summed up my day. I knew I had a ton of stuff I needed to do but my body just went nope.
Although we did make Beef Stroganoff for dinner. It was so good, I have been craving it for awhile but just never made it.
Originally I had planned on Chicken Parmesan but we had a leftover piece of Pizza Dough in the fridge we used to make a little Pizza for lunch so I thought Chicken Parmesan would be too much.
Tonight's dinner is a mystery, we have options just not craving anything. Well, I am craving Chicken Tenders but since I do not deep fry and Mom doesn't doesn't like them in the oven or air fryer it means Mom would have to fry them. Will see how she is feeling when she gets up but thinking not the best since I heard her get up at 10:30 and she went back to bed, usually a sign she isn't feeling well.
There are so many things I need to get done today but honestly, again I have no ambition. Hoping after I have breakfast I will find some. I am trying the viral custard toast that was apparently all over TikTok last year. I do not have TikTok but found it on Pinterest and I am always looking for new Breakfast ideas.
I did spend some time on Pinterest yesterday looking for new recipes. I did not find many for dinners but I did find a few breakfast ideas so I will try them over the next few weeks.
Happy Sunday Everyone.
The weekends ARE for some R & R @SassyAshley , so good you just took a day! Mmmm, beef stroganoff sounds so inviting, been ages since we've had that as well.
Not a whole lot of frugal shopping happened this morning as DH came with me....ha ha . He was so helpful in areas where I needed a runner to find various items.
He'd disappear into an aisle and return minutes later with the exact thing I needed. So when he put a few treats in the cart, I turned a blind eye.
We cooked up a large batch of quickie pasta and meatballs ( used the large tray of 30 premade Marc Angelo meatballs ), baked a frozen garlic bread up.
That will be lunch, dinner and work meals for today and Monday...maybe even into Tuesday. Funny, we can eat multiple servings and not get sick of it.
Enjoy the remainder of Sunday all!
Another day of getting nothing, I am not know what is up but I have zero ambition. Actually, today I do not feel sick but I feel like I am fighting something off so not sure what is up with that, but let's fight it off.
I am proud of myself, when I realized I just wasn't going to get much done today, I did think about doing some work. My thought was if I can knock out a bunch of the stuff I have to do tomorrow, maybe I will find time tomorrow to get the house stuff done. BUT, then I realized I have no idea what is going to happen tomorrow and what happens if I put in 4 hours today and tomorrow is insane and I cannot walk away from my laptop.
I am really trying to cherish my weekends off and make them the norm vs getting the weekend off being a treat. But I will admit I know I have a super busy week this week. Although not sure if plans will change, I heard we have a change coming so not sure if that puts some of my plans on the backburners.
Tomorrow I am going to try to get it all done, work, house, prep and just see how it goes. I do not know why, I know it is going to be a busy week but I feel like it might get busier than I expect, so we shall see.
I did set up my budget for February, I had planned to do it last week but got side tracked and did not get it done. I know I spent a good chunk on groceries this week but still got lots of room in the budget, plus I have some carry-over so we will be good. But I do need to go to Costco, there are a staples I need to pick up.
Going to finish my budget and then hopefully finish a new Dish Cloth I have been crocheting, our current one is falling apart.
Walked past the RCSS dumpster and someone had abandoned a bag of perfectly good groceries.
4x loaves of bread (best before F 12), 3x cans of Tim Hortons soup, jar of jam, jar of spaghetti sauce, and bag of potato chips; all with 2025 best before dates. Odd, why anyone would do that. Oh, well. They'll fill my tummy just fine. :)
I washed four loads of laundry yesterday, since I hadn’t been home in 10 days. I was also freshening up our summer clothes, since we leave for Mexico in mid Feb. I was shocked to discover cuts in two of my favourite cotton blouses. Today Dh discovered a bobby-pin sticking out of one of the drain holes in the dryer. Dh had to use needle nosed pliers to remove the bobby-pin. I haven’t used bobby-pins in my hair in at least a year. Our sitter has occasionally used these in her hair…which is likely how the bobby-pin got into the washing machine. :(I’ll need to buy more dress shirts. Side note, I managed to get new second hand dress pants for myself, pants and pjs for Ds, and clothes for twin girl.
Tomorrow is my birthday. Dh had a dozen red roses delivered to the house when I was home on Friday. I hope they still look ok when I return to the house again on Friday. The rental house is over 2hrs away, and I didn’t want to transport the flowers that far.
Nothing exciting here this weekend. I bought some groceries but we leave Friday and the kids can sort them selves for meals. DS1 has a few things planned this week so they have leftovers and freezer meals next week. That is my kid. I am glad we leave next Friday because wow what a weekend for weather. Last Monday we have 30 cms and the NS house and then this weeend another dumping and with high winds.
I did pick up some bacon on Flashfood for 1.97. Since I never found the coupons this was a deal so I picked up 6 packages. That willing keep us in bacon for a while.
@Angela273 , Happy Brithday
A very Happy Birthday to you today @Angela273 !!
