Brakes today.
Dealership opened on Saturday. Some don't. Met someone there who was helping their adult child buy a car. A senior citizen was helping. The dealer saw this senior citizen and probably thought this was an easy sale. I took mental notes about her tips. She had some very good tips about asking for extras if they would not reduce the price, buying used, researched the best used cars at that dealership, and she even scoped out the right salesperson to negotiate with. Lol.
Waiting for the brakes to be done was worth it today.

Turkey is in the oven, we are hosting a thanksgiving potluck and it’s another gorgeous sunny day here. We had some crazy winds yesterday but it looks as though other than a few already dead branches our trees are ok.
I am going to run into town for fresh dinner rolls and I then I think we are good.Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

Good Morning Everyone,
Super slow start to the morning over here because let's be honest I have zero ambition, my job is kicking my butt and leaving with no ambition by the time the weekend comes.
I did make myself my new obsession breakfast meal, Blueberry Muffin Oatmeal, oh my so good you make the oatmeal on the stove and then bake it with a crumble topping, oh my so good and it gives me three breakfasts.
I have taken out a whole chicken plus some stuffing we had frozen to make a Thanksgiving type meal, Mom mentioned yesterday it would be nice. We will see if we make it tonight or tomorrow, doesn't matter to me but will see how Mom feels.
I should write a meal plan for this week and I think I need to plan some lunches as well. We have been struggling with lunch which leads to us eating late and then messing with Dinner because we aren't hungry. Now that cooler weather is here I am thinking of making a soup, thinking Broccoli Cheddar and maybe a nice homemade bread or focaccia to go with it. Also Mom can make a small batch of Chicken Soup after we make the whole chicken oh and I think I found a second one in the freezer, hmmmm a plan I love it.
Happy Sunday Everyone.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

Happy Thanksgiving!
I was suppose to be in New York State by now at a state park hiking (leaving at 4am this morning!) for girls road trip but unfortunately my bestie's mom was admitted to hospice last week. I am so sad for her and family. Also, my oldest lost a friend last weekend in a terrible accident. He also has a friend going through a cancer battle so it has not been a good year for him either.
So, I put together a dinner for tonight. Ham, scalloped potatoes, mac and cheese, veggies. I cleaned the kitchen this morning and will start making the mac and cheese and scallop potatoes around 3pm. Wanting to have it all ready to eat at 5pm since oldest has a client to meet with at 7pm (Sunday's he usually works doing music recordings)
I am also dog sitting my sister's dog. I had no because we were going away and then no again when I said I was home this weekend since we had stuff to get done outside. But the person they had lined up has Covid so they were desperate for me to take him. Of course I said yes - glad to have him and it wasn't too bad yesterday even though he really wanted to come outside.
We borrowed a trailer and filled it 2 times already and have another load or 2 to go (to the dump). So many shrubs/trees trimmed! The yard looks huge now. The house addition was hidden by trees/shrubs and is now cleaned up. It looks so weird now seeing it from the driveway when you pull up.
I also did a good job on cleaning the garage. I shredded many boxes of paper (work stuff) and have many empty banker boxes. DS just has to clean up his tools and hang up the 3 golf bags and hockey net and then it is empty and ready for him to change his tires and then we are able to park in there once the snow flies.
We have the snow blower and bucket of ice melter ready to go. Have about 3 bags back up in the basement (I buy at end of season on clearance- and we didn't really use it much last year)
I was exhausted last night after all the work in the yard. Dinner will be pretty simple to prepare and have everything we need so thinking I will have a shower now and get dressed for the day and then grab my winter coat and head to the lake for a walk with the pup.
Have a wonderful day!

Found an abandoned bicycle on my garden path. I think it may be from one of the homeless bums; probably checking my property for things to steal. I took it, along with a cheap e-bike I found a couple of years ago, down to a sport re-cycling store. Hopefully, they go to children in need of them. I suspect they are stolen. The reception clerk at the store thought the same. Oh, well. I didn't steal them. If they check the serial numbers and find that they are indeed stolen, hope that they get back to their rightful owners, at least.
My food may not befit a king, but I eat like a horse.

My younger brother got married last weekend. Our twins were in the bridal party. The day went great!
We were looking forward to being home this weekend. I switched our kids’ wardrobes for the cold weather ahead. Winter clothes are freshly washed. I was glad to see that I already have the right size winter boots for our kids. Since kids are always growing I’ll keep an eye out for bigger winter clothes and boots. I have a big bag of clothing to donate too.
I worked on meal planning for the week ahead. It’s good to know what to cook in advance.Help me out with Swagbucks and we can both earn gift cards and PayPal money

Good Morning Everyone,
Another super slow morning over here, I am feeling so done, probably does not help that all day yesterday I kept thinking it was Saturday not Sunday. I think it was because I was going to make my weekend extra long and take an extra day or two off but then my scheduled flipped at the last minute and taking time off was no longer an option.
Mom decided she did not want the chicken last night because th stuffing was still frozen so that will be tonight's dinner. Roasted Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Potato Stuffing and I am thinking Carrots for a veggies. I should make a dessert but as much as I tell myself to get up my butt has not left this couch.
Last night I ended up making French Onion Pasta Bake (better known to some ad adult Mac & Cheese) it was funny because I was not at all feeling it but Mom wanted it but oh my gosh once I had it made it was amazing.
Well I cooked dinner I did a little bit of prep in the kitchen but nothing major, I should be prepping now but still my butt has not left this couch.
I did write a meal plan for the week, we do not assign days but I came up with 11 options for this week.
Not quite sure what this week will bring yet, my boss is off and we are moving one of our shipping departments next weekend so we shall see how that goes.
I am working from home tomorrow so thinking I might find a no-knead recipe I can make tonight and bake off tomorrow to go with the soup I still need to make. I always like something to go with my soup.
Alright need to find some lunch.

Good Morning Everyone,
I have decided it is time to get back into 5 am routine. I have been letting myself sleep in more often and even when I do not sleep in, I tend to linger in bed. No more, I need my morning routine back although this weather is not helping, it was a little chilly this morning and I did not want to leave my warm cozy bed.
Also, I find the older I get the more the shorter days affect me, even this morning I was up at 5 but sitting here in the dark left me with no motivation but we are pushing through, I am forcing myself to focus and get things done. I also find at night now as soon as we are done dinner, I am done as well, my body says oh it is dark out time for bed.
Last night we had the roast chicken for dinner, I wasn't sure it was going to happen Mom wasn't having the best day and she wanted to make it but we got it done. I did end up making Butternut Squash instead of carrots as our side, oh my, forgot how much I love it, I only made half of the squash and was regretting it I could have ate the whole thing.
Tonight's dinner I am not sure I am having one of those days where everything sounds good and I cannot land on one thing. Originally I was thinking Shawarma Bowls, then thought pizza and then I saw the spaghetti squash when I was making breakfast so who knows.
I have our larundy going, towels are in the dryer regular clothes in the washer. Thinking I might do the bedding tomorrow, we shall see how tomorrow goes.
I still need to take the AC units out of the windows, I see one night this week we go down to 1 so need to make that a priority.
Happy Tuesday that feels like a Monday everyone.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

I wasn’t sure if I wanted to post this on here, since it’s not happy news but it is life. My husband’s grandpa was admitted to the hospital last week in Alberta. Aunty provided us with updates. Doctors refused to do the necessary surgery because they weren’t certain grandpa’s heart would handle it. Grandpa died early Friday morning. Although grandpa was 98yrs old, he wasn’t done living life yet. In recent years grandma and grandpa had been in assisted living. Now that grandpa has passed grandma has to move.
