Very glad our cruise is nowhere near the middle East nor is our flight home. So many air and sea passengers are stranded or enduring missile strikes-very thankful we are not! I read of one cruise where the passengers are not allowed on the open decks or near windows(waste of money if you paid for a balcony cabin). They have however been given free internet which is quite expensive aboard.

My February savings total is $161.

Our kids continue to outgrow their clothes, so I’m getting them to try on items from their dressers to make room for other clothes. I keep bind of clothes that they try on as they grow into them. Ds outgrew more pants but fortunately fits 4 more pairs from his bin. I’ve developed some local connections and participate in an informal clothing exchange. I typically bring more clothing to give away than what I find that fits my family. I’m glad for this free option since people locally don’t buy clothes off Facebook anymore. I still try to buy clothing from our two second hand stores, particularly when they have a good sale.

Regarding coupons…mg local stores are basically limited to Sobeys, CO-OP, No Frills, Walmart, SDM, and Pharmasave. Sobeys used to be good at putting out coupons, but they’d pretty much quit putting on g out coupons over the last year. Similar lack of coupons at NF and CO-OP. In December I was happily surprised to find a few different coupons on the shelf.

I’m continuing to have pretty good luck with the fresh produce boxes from Flashfood. Today I noticed that their service fee went from $0.25 to now $0.32. This service fee is still significantly lower than the weed FoodHero app.

A member of SC who shall remain unnamed thought I was already back from my trip-hush, hush now I am going to enjoy the last 12 days! We are back in the Southern hemisphere where is it summer-yay. On the flight home we will cross the equator for the fourth and last time this trip-I hope to sleep through that one.

Angela that is great you get free clothing my daughter-in-law got a bunch of clothing for little Cara from a friend across the street ,so it really saves of course i am always buying them clothing from walmart ,gap,or second hand if it is really nice.My daughter and son have way more expenses than we do ,so i love to help .

I am off to walmart to get a few items .It is only around the corner so not much in gas.

Finally caught up on the laundry. I picked up a few groceries but my son is pretty good about making sure we have a meal plan for our 1st day back so depending on the weather I will likely do groceries tomorrow. I do need to do a Costco trip so that may be the plan. @Angela273 I am not sure if you have a local buy nothing or free Facebook site but we have a pretty robust one here and even I have picked up clothes for myself and it’s always my 1st choice when getting rid of clothes.

I read that a US sub sank an Iranian warship near Sri Lanka-cripes we were just there. Good thing our ship wasn't mistaken for a warship. Obviously time to get home as this war seems to be spreading.

My sis went on a ship excursion and I hired a taxi driver off the pier to take me around for a few hours. Saw a place where they handmade lovely batik, a temple, a monkey park, a bird park and a coffee grower and rice fields. I learned at the coffee place in Bali that mongoose eat the coffee beans-then then clean them( after they poop them out-lovely) and make really good tasting coffee. I didn't try it.

Declined the reptile park and a dozen more temples. Bought a bag for my daughter. The driver told me that all homes are built with a temple in the front yard-really quite amazing to me. There was a loud crash as we headed back to the ship-in high winds a branch had struck the roof of the taxi. Scared me but all was just fine. Off to Australia shortly.

Thursday already? Wow! This week is flying by.

Yesterday I popped out to Food Basics with no dinner plan. Found Fahita chicken on mark down (Mark Angelo brand I think it was?) On sale for $5.99 with 40% off that. So I grabbed a bag of onions and mini sweet peppers (we haven't had fresh in a long while so it was time!) It hurt grabbing the peppers since I knew they were going on sale today.....but they wouldn't scan and the cashier did his own over ride and asked me if $3.29 was ok and I said yes it was! It was super busy and I guess customers were giving him a hard time so he didn't want to wait for someone to help.
I wish I grabbed the other 2 packages of chicken for the freezer. That was a great quick meal!!

Work- I have 2 government filings I have to deal with today that I have been putting off. Today is the day! I am ignoring my email and getting them done first today.

Will toss a load of laundry in the washer and then hang it to dry. Few items left on the butcher block that I just need to make the decision to toss in the garbage and then the food portion of the kitchen cupboard clean up is done. Still need to go through the dishes, pots and tupperware! I will make that next week's project.

Well just like high school - Have a project to do and start cleaning and organizing! I did get the stuff for the project ready first but then I started shredding papers! Once I started I couldn't stop.
My portable table has my paper pile on it. Now to start the project

Just popped over to shoppers got my milk and antacids (even with the seniors discount i just noticed pharmasave is 2.00 cheaper in their new flyer with 15 airmiles)
Shoppers prices just seem to go up and up infact i have not done a 20 times the points yet this year in 2026.

I didnt see the flyer til i got home from shoppers.

I just cashed out of checkout51 $43.00 .

Got a good jump on my Spring Cleaning and wiped down all the walls. It just smells clean in the house.

Rescued 6x sandwiches, 2x donair, 4x Milk2Go shakes, a litre of choc milk, and 72x chocolate bars from my Shell station. Gave them away to anyone and everyone I met on the street, workers at the eco-station, people waiting for a bus, 2x kids out with their father to the toboggan hill.

Found an ice chipper on the sidewalk and lugged it 5km home, even though I already found 2 others.

Found a single red potato on a parking post in front of No Frills. Must have fallen out of someone's cart. Still good eating.

Found a shopping cart full of clothes abandoned by a bum at a bus stop. It looks like items stolen from a community donation bin. Some of them looked new, so I took them home to put to good use.

Did my quickie Metro " in & out " earlier today.
Bought 2 cartons 2L milk @ $3.99 ea., 2 x Lactose Free Tex Mex shreds @ $4.88 ea.
1 whole cored pineapple @ $3.99 and 1 x basket kiwis @ $3.99
I get laughs at the " savings " listed underneath each item(s). Metro's prices are generally
inflated so I know better. Convenience often wins out.

At NF ( close by ) I bought discounted Bartlett pears and 4 packages of cheese slices
to earn 3,000 points on the $20.00 spend.
Then at WM I scored on a box of 25 multi coloured letter sized hanging folders for $18.14
I was able to redeem a $5.00 savings from my WM card points. My " office " drawer will
be getting a makeover! Cannot wait to discard and replace those ratty old folders.

Wanted to post about my previous post. ^^^^ I just happened to be looking at my
NF receipt and DAMN if they didn't give me the 3,000 points for the $20.00 spend
on the cheese slices.
Put in a points inquiry last night and very early today the points were added.
No reason for me to be up at this hour but TGIF anyways!
