Lol, I forgot I added a bit of ketchup too..

Last night was a crockpot creation (yup, I'm the one who used to be 'scared' to use it!) - onions, celery, mushrooms, broccoli with pre-sauteed ground pork, in a hearty mushroom gravy - yay, was eaten up with all the leftover smashed taters.

Tonight, roast chicken dinner. I'm trying the 'new' Granny's ginseng chicken, so I'm going to spice and roast it as I would normally, make gravy from the juices, serve with similar sides, etc. - just to see if there is a difference.
The chicken was on sale at Co-op for 4.17/kg - cheapest any chicken has been around here lately.

i just caught up with all the yummy dinners everyone posted... about 5 pages of catching up to do!

tonight is going to be leftover bbq chicky, with roti for hubby.

i will be having spaghetti and meatballs, and a big pile of sauteed mushrooms/zuchinni on the side. it sounds odd, but is so totally yummy.

desert is phillipino style fruit salad made with condensed milk and whipped cream. naughty!!! i can't help it i have a sweet tooth, plus i had leftover condensed milk i didn't want to waste!

Parchment paper perch-- which is essentially perch steamed in parchment paper on a bed of snow peas and carrots and seasoned with salt and pepper, fresh garlic, fresh ginger, and shallots. Thank you "Today's Parent" for that little gem!

(My faith is marginally restored after the disastrous black bean soup with goat cheese balls recipe from the same mag that I tried a few months ago. LOL.) hehe. Think my pride might've recovered from that one.

Anyhoo-- along with the tasty perch, we had honey garlic asian noodles, some chicken fried rice and fresh green beans.

Did you have a coupon? My dd bought a couple of those.
We found some $2 off coupons at Co-Op just before christmas, so she used those. Let us know what you think about the chicken.

Tonights dinner is Alaskan King Crab legs, baked spuds and a greek salad. Was shopping all day and really tired. At the RCSS, they had the crab legs on sale for $17.97 for a huge bag of froze legs, sooooo, easy meal, pop them in some salted water and we're good to go, can't wait to eat

Oh, holly, I had given away several coupons I had for them, thinking that I was never going to buy 'such weird chicken', lol!

The verdict: the chicken was awesome! Because I made it just exactly the same way I would a regular chicken, it was easy to judge. There was no taste difference in the chicken itself - and the bonus was the roasted breast was very juicy, which as we know is sometimes a concern.
My son said he wanted this chicken every day! We don't normally have such a big "Sunday" meal on a Tuesday, but I wanted to try it because if it were good, I would buy more, so we bought two more chickens last night.

I've prepared some baked pasta and added a bit of cheese to it. Hope to have it for dinner with my girlfriend.
