There are not many things that turn me off more than people who get angry while driving.

i sTopped in the city tonight and managed to piss of some guy who then harassed me for blocks even after I calmly and cooly gave him every chance to proceed in peace.

I pulled into airport with him following me. I park, he gets out behind me.... I get out of my car. Realizing I could pacify him in 2 seconds, he changes from his aggressive tone to tell me in a whiny voice that my lane change skills suck.

I asked him if he'd like me to summons a police officer so he could file a complaint but he declined. Because I'm such a jive turkey, I asked him if he wished to punch me. He declined. I told him to beat it, he did.

Road ragers are horrible and I wish these types of people would be subject to firm consequences for doing what he did to me.

    That's just gross...

I was once followed on a highway, and into the city. Scared the crap outta me, but I wasn't confronted.

Road rage is interesting, I have been involved in a few incidents. I came to the conclusion though that these morons that cut you off, give you the finger, all that other fun stuff are not targeting you. They are just angry at the world and you happen to be there at the moment.

I usually end up feeling sorry for their families because they probably go home and take it out on them afterwards.

I would NEVER get out of my car if someone was following me due to RRage. You really don't know if the person is sane, or maybe carrying a weapon. If this happened to me and I felt threatened and the person wouldn't back down I definitely would call the police or go to the nearest police station and let them handle it.

I find people are just really impatient in my city. Tail-gating, honking when you take literally half a second too long to turn.. the list goes on.

Tailgaters are horrible! WHen I lived in Banff, I would drive to Calgary often and it never failed, city drivers would tailgate me dangerously on the highway. I placed a sticker similar to this on my Lincoln and this proved to be effective.

I agree completely. You never know who / what you could be dealing with.

Last year I was going out somewhere, I cannot remember where. I live on a cul-de-sac with 20 houses, and at the cross road, the stop sign is not for the traffic on my road but that of the opposing direction.
I was on my way, about to make a right at the intersection, and some poop in a truck runs the stop sign and nearly hits me. I ended up slamming on my breaks and hit the horn with my arm. What does the guy do who cut me off? The a$$ stops his truck, gets out and starts FLIPPING OUT on me. Well, since I do not tolerate people who are disrespectful very well, I ended up giving it back to him (glad my kids were not in the car, I used a lot of really nasty words ). I then wrote his plate down and went straight to the police station to report him. This guy was literally at my window foaming at the mouth, and thought it was okay to blame me for him running a stop sign.
What can the police do? FBA. Some psycho gets out of his car and verbally attacks me like a raging lunatic, and all they can do is "go talk to him, but people like take do not give a sh!t so I would be wasting my time, but if you want me too...."
So....months later there is a car accident. Some guy was running from the Police, they ended up calling off the pursuit, he pulls a U-turn at a busy intersection and slams head on into a car waiting to turn. I read about it in the newspaper and was looking at the pictures of the damaged vehicles. The guy running from the Police is driving the same make and model truck as the guy that I had the run in with....and from the pics in the paper, well I am pretty sure the plates matched too.

    Have fun in jail buddy.

    ^^^^^

based on that, I am glad you did not get out of the car. There are nutty people out there. I witnessed a road rage fight right in downtown Calgary about 10 years ago. It's so silly and immature.

People getting angry at the very same person who would risk there life to save you if you were in trouble. And that is a fact!

Love each other. Fighting is not kind.

People in my area want to drive at the speed limit in winter when its snowing and the roads are kind of semi cleared .

If you are driving a bit slow like 10-15 km/ hr below due to the weather they start honking and tailgating you even if you are in the right lane

The roads in my area are all major roads with a speed limit of 70 km/ hr ..no way I am doing that in bad or semi bad weather ! If the light changes no way I will be able to stop in time if the roads are slick , If I am doing 70 km/hr..I will probably end up going through a red light even if I brake (at that speed ) or end up spinning my car.

People don't realise that the speed limit is for dry pavement and good weather and not for bad weather like snow , heavr rain etc.

I had a woman behind me honking continuously for a few blocks. I was in a parking lot and turned in front of her...she was a long ways back when I turned but literally speeding like crazy in the parking lot. So I suppose I slowed her down and she was one upset lady. I just kept driving round the block and would have continued to drive to the police station if she kept at it. Sigh...people need to slow down and live a little.

I admit I get a little upset at stupid drivers sometimes.... like last week I stopped at a cross walk to let a woman cross the road (it was also an intersection... so I wasn't blocking the intersection) AND the light ahead at the next block was RED. (we would have been stopped anyways!!) and some idiot passes me in a NON-EXISTANT lane and almost runs over the poor woman trying to cross!!
Like, ok guy... I'm just stopped for NO apparent reason, right?!

But for the most part I have tried to practise patience and calm. It gets easier as time goes by.

I think it would help if everyone was more aware of everything going on while they are driving.
