Until today.
I have 30 zantac coupons that I traded for $3 OFF ANY (no limitations).
So not to be a oinker, I grabbed 15 boxes today and continued with my grocery shop and left at least half the shelf there.
Up to the cash and then the fun started. Cashier became confused as the $3 coupon was more than the cost of the item. Yes, there is overage. Cashier calls over a manager. Manager first states there is a limit of six. I politely say, there is no sign posted? She says yes, we have the right to limit. Fine. Manager then looks at my item, then the picture on the coupon, says, thats not the right kind. I said yes, I know, is says ANY. Manager proceeds to argue and say that they will not get reimbursed if its not the exact item on the coupon. I say again, I know, the coupon says ANY ZANTAC. This carries on a few minutes and gets me nowhere. I end up leaving it all behind as they will not honor the coupon. I called head office when I got home to complain and they have referred me to a manager who has not called yet.

Sorry you are having a difficult time. I find with coupons that give overage I only pick up a few at a time. Way less problems that way.

Sorry to hear it, but my Wal-mart has been very strict lately. I went there last week and the usual cashier (who I see has been there for a long time) run to the manager about 5 times to check my coupons, I'm not sure if this is happening at all wal-mart. Can't wait to see how Target is with coupons.

Maybe they're confused as to the reasoning because they heard there were issues with this coupon? There are $3 off any Zantac that say "Limit one coupon per purchase and per person, and may not be combined with any other offer."
I'm not sure how the manufacturer can tell WM only sold one at a time, but there might have been whispers among management and cashiers to watch out for this particular coupon.

My friend a cashier at a WM in Ottawa and she said other cashiers were talking to watch out for that one and tena plus a few others. But she is happy now cause her WM isn't going to stock the zantac anymore and now they have limits on certain coupons. I just texted her to take a picture of the memo in the staff room about certain coupons.

i'm surprised thats the excuse they gave.. and not the "it says one coupon per customer" wording.. i think theres a love hate relationship with the overage policy.. it's great as a shopper to find something and get something with a few cents bonus.. get a great sale or a low count packaging that the coupon is valid on.. but like anything there are some that take it to the extreme.. and it's why the price of the small bottles of Nexus went up, and they stopped stocking it at many locations..

I had a similar situation happen! Another manager will probably ended up calling you, all sweet and inviting, apologizing and telling you to come back to use your coupons with them.
I've had good experiences with head office following up with the locations.

Yes I was just wanting to use them up and be done with them. Its actually a product we use (what?! lol) and I spent another $80 + on other items with only two other coupons so not a big deal. Still no call yet.....I may try again monday if no snow.

I had an incident at the Ajax ontario Walmart about the Garnier body lotions. A CSM just came up to me on the sales floor and told me I could not buy all of them that I was only allowed 6. As it turns out I told her I worked for Walmart and they didn't budge, even told me that I should just shop at my own store.....what. So two other of my walmart friends were in the store and they bought six each for me. The next day I called personally the store manager and he was appalled that this is what they are telling their customers. The point being that independent corner store owners are coming in to walmarts and buying bulk items for sale in their own store. They know who these people are, do I look like one of them? This is why they told me only 6. So I questioned why example if I was buying Michalena's and I wanted 6 of every kind the store carried or 10 mustard's or maybe I'm having a party and I need large quantities. Are they picking and choosing which 6 items in the store that I can and cannot have? made perfect sense then. He said he was going to talk to their staff and apologized for the inconvenience and I told him I would be back the same day and I will be buying more than 6 of this item. When I went in the Front End Manger who I knew came up and apologized for the previous day's problem.....they have spoken and wrote it in the communication book no more limits.. The store manager was also there and he did recognize me and apologized once again.....I hope everyone gets their problems solve. Ask for a manager, get their name, ask for the store manager, get their name. get the district managers name, posted at the courtsey desk write their phone number down and give them a call. When all else fails write to the president at Walmart.ca and complain until you get results.
