Down 1 pound. But my clothes fit better, I feel better And I plan on trucking on. Especially since I'm still half a pound heavier than when I started this leg of challenge. Lol. I told a few of you that I been struggling With losing this last 10 pounds. I thought of running and hiding from this thread, not posting anything, But it is better to struggle with your weight and stay the same, than to put on more. So I am here Struggling with the rest of you To win this battle for better health.

It doesn't really bother me to gain a pound, that just means I am almost maintaining, which is ok. Gaining 4 or 5 in a week as I have sometimes in the past would be scary. I can control that better now.

Just did my groceries at Sami fruit this morning. Not one thing in a box , nothing sinful in the house. My dad is coming home for a weekend visit and next Thursday will be discharged for good so I will be back to cooking for 6.

The stress has been at a pretty high level for the past 6 weeks but hopefully if I pass this challenge with my sanity all will go well for a while until the next crisis.

I have notcied a kind of weird coincidence in all the years I have been looking after my folks. All the bad stuff seems to happen in January. Breast cancer, pnemonia, broken hip, now this operation for my dad. Kind of weird. I actually remember telling someone around Halloween when they were asking about my folks I said I take it one day at a time especially during the winter months when stuff tends to happen.

I gained 1.5 this week...darnit all. I am not surprised, work has been crazy this week and have been sitting at my desk an extra 2-3 hours a day instead of moving RSP season will be done soon so back to walking at lunch and not filling my face mindlessly at my desk while I am workng! It doesn't help that our admin assistant's lunches consist of gummie bears and chex mix.she has worked for me for 5 years and she eats chocolate and candy every day and not just a bit. She has a knock out figure maybe a size 2 or 3 in her late 40's. How do people do this , She always has her snacks at her desk and I walk in with my yougurt and apple and spend the day wanting to steal her gummie bears!!!!!

-2.2 this week. Which is just fine since I had 3 glasses of wine last evening; DD had a dinner meeting, so we went to pick her up as well as her car (had a glass of wine there, at the Keg), then went to her house and had another 2 glasses with her and her hubby and mine, of course...1/2bag of Orville's buttery popcorn the night before (salt!)...so it's all good!!
I can't wait to see our doc on Monday...he'll be so happy with me!!

Patty......you're so right about winters and old folks..I remember chatting with a funeral home director, and (pardon the expression, it's his not mine) he said that summer funerals were spaced out quite nicely, but in winter "we've got them stacked in the hallways"! Mostly old folks.....My Dad passed away in winter, Dec 22nd, and my Mom, Nov 16th...

However! I hope your Dad does well at home again and gosh...cooking for 6 every night...I can't even begin to imagine what that's like, since it's been just my hubby and I for about 16 years! Good luck, Hon...

Thriftygranny, I've known people like that and they must have the metabolism of race-horses!! I'm like you...even inhaling cake makes my hips swell!! Better times ahead, Hon.

Yikes! Must run and get this TB test checked!!!!

    Have a lovely weekend, everyone!!

I wonder why? I wonder if it's just here where we have 4 seasons and maybe the winter blues play a role? Holidays? I would love to see a study on that.

Oh Lynn! You did great! I stayed where I was and was soooo happy to not gain at least. Well just a week left and I am back to work, so the positive side of that is I will finally be active again! There will be plenty of lifting, squatting, pushing and exertion going on.....and THAT will just be going on in the washroom!!
    Yeah, I know I'm nutbars!
O.K. so I am going to try taking some new supplements ( I watched Dr Oz yesterday and was influenced immediately ) They are Krill oil, and Chromium....I'll keep you posted.
Good luck everyone on your weigh in today! Congrats to the losers so far. Thriftygranny, I feel your pain on working with someone who always eats bad but looks so good?? Not fair

Walks...I'm just taking CLA and maybe that's what's keeping me on track, because I certainly wasn't an this week!
I've heard of chromium, also...but I just want to stick to one at a time...and it seems to be working!
Time to take 2 more, actually!!!

Hang in there....Hon.....and yes, being active at work and in the washroom should make quite a difference! LOL!!

Patty, I get S.A.D this time every year, which is why my hubby has taken me south in March (we can't go in Jan or Feb since our DD works 60hrs a week and we're sometimes on call to pick our grandson up if her hubby has a late meeting)....I've considered that "light" therapy thingy which our DD suggested I try, but I guess I'm keeping busy enough this year with Jenny and her visitations, that February flew by! And believe me, I've never said that before! I'm usually catatonic with cabin fever.

I hope your spirits lift, Hon.....you're in such a tough time of life...the "Sandwich Generation", caught between caring for children and parents....I wish you well....

    - 3.

The interview wasn't really much of one. He just described the company and what I would be doing and asked if I had any questions. I will know next week if I got it.

I am also peeved. I witnessed someone driving their vehicle with the whole windshield covered in about 2 inches of snow, except a small section. What an idiot. And people who don't put their shopping carts back, drives me nuts. I ended up putting a couple back.

Way to go, Curt!! -3! I think that's the record this week!!!
Did you ask any questions in the interview? I hate when they do that...I just used to want to say, "Yah. Do I get the job?!!" LOL!!
As for shopping carts, ugh...had that happen this morning at our Staples. Because of my vision, I always have to find a parking space that I can pull through, so I don't have to back out when I leave. There was one pull-though, but it had a shopping cart just plunked in the middle of the spot! Not between the cars where at least someone coming the other way could at least get in, but where no one could! I got out of my car, pushed it away, then took it into the store. Geez. I figure if anyone does that, they should at least get a 10% discount! It's almost as bad as people who park in Handicapped spots. I'm SO tempted to run my key down their car or at least scribble (mentally handicapped?) in the wintery dirt or dust on the car. I never have, but I did hear of someone in the US who had printed up stickers with something like that saying on it, and plastered it onto the front windshield of those cars! LOL! Now.....if we ALL did that.....
