I think although a lot of people like to try to look at the post mark unless what you are sending has tracking it is hit or miss.

I always try to go in and give it to them so it gets post marked but one local Post Office will do it another one is hit and miss. Sometimes they will post mark it right then and there but if they are busy (which they usually are) they will just put it to the side and you have to hope they do it.

The envie that I got from you wasn't post marked at all. Just the stamp had too bold lines across it. Not understanding CP at all .

I just got one were they had taken a blue pen and made squiggly lines through the stamps it made me laugh

While trade ratings are recommended (it helps others know if someone is trustworthy) they are not required. You could PM the person and ask them to leave you one

This isn't directly related to the topic of the thread and I'm pretty sure TG12 knows I'm not trying to start a riot here. I think it should be mentioned that for those of us with higher trade ratings it's easy to forget that getting past the 15 rating threshold is important when you're first trying to get traders to trust you... so every rating "counts" for newbie traders.

On a personal note, one of the reasons I feel "safer" trading on SC than anywhere else is because of our rating system, which wouldn't exist if everyone omitted to rate.... just sayin'

IMO low or high rating one should leave a rating especially when asked!!! Lets the other trade know the trade was received. Ticks me right off and I messaged a trader just last week to ask if my end was received and no reply and no rating!??!! RUDE !!

i just left a positive rating as a "train passenger" instead of a "trade" - does it make a difference?

Not really, they count the same
The only way it would not is if the person has not conducted a train and people see a rating from a passenger

Hi everyone, ok so I did a trade with a new member last week and her envie arrived today. One of the coupons I traded for was a Gay Lea Spreadables FPC. But it doesn't have a barcode. I don't feel right about trying to use this coupon in stores because they won't get any money back from a coupon as there is no address on it or anything. What should be done in this instance?

Just wanted to let everyone know that this new trader worked out her end and all is well. Thanks again for the friendly advice

A rider on one of my trains just rec`d a negative from someone totally unrelated to mine. I have yet to receive a confirmation that the person in queston has mailed after sending a PM and posting a message on her profile. When I did visit her profile I was alarmed because there were several people inquiring about where their trades were. Like I said there were no negatives when she joined. This Friday is the 2nd week mark for my train and envies will be sent home on Tuesday with or without her envie.

My question is, what type of rating should I provide. Missing envies happen all the time yet it would seem that there is an underlying problem(s) with this rider who prior to joining my train had a spotless trade rating.
