Ok I am going to start by saying I am sorry but here is my little rant.

This is why I hate reality shows about people losing weight because what you see is not the real reality and it not reality for someone not on the show. They want to make it seem like anyone can it but it is everything you don't see, these people are living "normal" lives well on these shows and they are not losing weight the way a "normal" person would. They put unrealistic ideas and goals in people's head and than they wonder why people do stupid things.

But I also feel the same way about celebrity diet secrets. Do not tell me how easy your diet plan is when you have a personal chief cooking all of your meals, money is no object you are not budgeting to feed a family on a "nornmal" income, you have a personal trainer and you do lead a normal life. I am sorry but especially these celebs that do the losing the weight after the baby no "normal" person can have a baby and than work out for 8 hours a day to get our body back. We do not have a nanny to care for the kids well we work out or at night so we can get 8 hours of sleep, nor do we have a personal chief cooking our meals, nor do we have maids to clean out houses. A lot of these celebs talk about making yourself and your body a priority well if I lived your life maybe I could but my reality is I am up at 5 am each morning in the office by 6:30 am work till 4 pm have to come home cook dinner, clean up dinner and keep the house running, no I do not have time to fit in 4 to 8 hours of working out and I cannot just buy whatever food we want nor can I have these afford to have these diet meal delivered to me. These people want to make it sound so simple but really it is not.

    Sorry for my rant.

Ashley you just posted what I said to someone at work years ago! It was a ways back when Oprah was on her weight loss kick and I thought, geesh! give me just half of the advantages you have at your disposal ( chef, maid, time, money,) and I might be able to do it as well.
Meanwhile back in the real world Ashley, hang in there with the rest of us losers ( without the perks ), we will accomplish ours over time AND thank goodness with no paparazzi hounding us, lol

Very true, Ashlely, but just as we understand it all as 'hype' to sell products (just as celebs try to sell me a wrinkle cream that works! when they're still in their 30s!), there are the easily-lead, easily-duped gals out there who believe whatever they see on tv, through their rose-coloured glasses to be the honest truth, and shell out hundreds of dollars on absolute crap.
What surprises me is not the fact that we 'get it', but that others don't!!

    Okay.
THIS is the absolute last day I plan on cheating on this diet! I feel like a cow!!!
I have no idea how much I've gained back, but I'm also confident that it'll come off
when I stick faithfully to my diet.
    Seriously.
    THE last day!!!!

Had my dad at the hospital today, his BP spiked really high so we took him by ambulance. He is ok now , no damage to his heart but I feel like round 2 is about to begin

    Walks, yep, definitely tomorrow.
Had yummy leftovers to finish today.
    But they're gone now.
So. No more excuses, I promise!

Keep up the good work, everyone!!
Use me as your bad example...living with regret....sniff....

ouch Patty! Your poor Dad. Well I may not be showing a 2 lb. loss tomorrow, something is amiss. Not sure what is going in with my metabolism because I have been very disciplined and have been eating very clean. We'll see. It is not that I am gaining, I am sort of stuck-ish?? This will not do.
Good luck everyone for your weigh ins!

Ouch, Patty! Really glad it's been stabilized! Was there a med change to help him get it down! It can be frightening when it suddenly spikes like that...believe me, I know! I hope it settles down now.

Walks, Sweetie, I PM'd you;,we'll get you over this slump!

I AM back on track today with firm resolve to lose what .i gained back last month!

Walks, big business could care less about the health of the plebeians who purchase food from them; it's all about the bottom line - more money in their pockets. And if we get sick and need drugs to help us deal with the illnesses from their food, the big prescription companies then make the money. The rich get richer, the middle class disappears, and the poor become the guinea pigs for more of their drug experiments. I can guarantee that the families who own Monsanto don't ingest those chemicals!
I love corn, esp on the cob, but this year I'll forgo that pleasure.

Day 1 of my return to my diet is done...now on to day 2. It's so hard to get back on track after misbehaving! But I remember how wonderful I felt before I went off it, so that's a very good incentive!

It's tough, isn't it, Patty? One pound here, another one there, two steps forward, one step back....it's tough to imagine any progress is being made. Last year (I know, I keep harping about my past glory days.., I set little goals for myself rather than looking at the BIG picture and I think that helped a lot; I'm doing the same this time, and with the trip over and done, it's time to pay the piper, damn him!
Stay the course, Sweetie, it will pay off!
