We had a Chicken Caesar Salad with a rotini pasta salad. I thought it was pretty good since it was one of those throw together at the last minute dinners. I used my homemade caesar salad dressing recipe & it turned out so good. There is something so satisfying about fresh garlic. In the pasta salad, I put grape tomatoes, green & red pepper, cucumber & dh caramelized the onions all by himself (an amazing feat for a dh with the sorest back in the history of sore backs). I used fresh basil, chives & a shake of this & a shake of that....turned out so good!!!
Now I'm craving something sweet. I think I'll have a slice of banana bread & a cup of tea.
Speaking of banana bread, I was looking for more interesting ways to make banana bread & came across this idea. Making it in mason jars!! Also they have a recipe for peach crisp. This is such a good idea for a picnic or a party favour.

I find this dressing to be one of the best ones when it comes to homemade.
- I have anchovy haters in my house so I leave them out
- I used 1 tsp or so of dry mustard
- I also add more garlic.

have 3 different shallow pans of ribs slow cooking, 2 of them are brushed very sparsely with a few strokes of General Tao sauce, one 1/3 of the last pan I left plain, DS wanted to know what they taste like nekkid! and the last 2/3 of the pan are brushed with pure honey watered down a bit with some garlic powder. Someone should really get off her duff and get a salad going!!

My DH is wonderful, cleans, tidies, does laundry, loads/empties the dishwasher. But OMG, there are some nights I wish he could cook!
It's about 30 degrees here today. I had taken steak out to cook for supper, and had some chicken thighs to grill for the next day or two for supper/lunches. We have our A/C installed in the living room and bedroom now, so it's comfortable in our living areas, but it was steaming out on the deck, hardly had to turn on the grill. So I was mostly out there for an hour, while DS and DH were in air conditioned comfort.
Looking on the bright side, I asked DH to tidy up the kitchen before I started (which he never argues about), and he will load the dishwasher later, and do most of the lunches. Plus they both appreciated the meal I made, although DS asked for chicken instead of steak. Oh well, steak for my lunch tomorrow!

BBQ Turkey Breast with roasted potatoes and grilled zucchini and yellow pepper. I love BBQ season but it is almost too hot to BBQ here today.

Still plenty of meal leftovers everyone is nibbling on so did not have to cook anything new. ( relief it was warm today) however, I made up some healthy cold pops for DH ( like a popsicle) from 4 cups of mixed berries ( raspberry, blueberries and cherries I pitted ) boiled down the mixture added lime juice, stevia then sieved through my fine mesh strainer, added % Greek yogurt and some milk. Poured into long moulds, will add the stick when it firms up partway.
Then made DD her own cold treats. Banana cut in two, each piece shoved onto a popsicle stick, coated with coconut milk, rolled into ground almonds, then melted chocolate drizzled coating the outside ( yikes, it was tricky) then they are placed into freezer.
Yeah, I did lick the spoon on those! lol

Ate lunch late so didn't feel like a big meal. Ds had leftover pasta from last night (I'm saving mine for lunch tomorrow) and I had leftover rice lol. Others will fend for themselves.
