Dealing with a weird situation & not sure how to react. I just found out some friends of mine betrayed me" They did things I would not have expected them to do. These are folks I see & chat with regularly & I'm not so much angry as disappointed that they acted as they did. Long convoluted story short, they are friends with an individual I do not like (I don't do well with folks who are obvious manipulators and use people). There are very few people I cannot get along with, this is one of them (I never bash this person, just chalk it up to personality clashes, but there is a lot more to it than that). At this point, I'm going to just go along with things as if I never found out about this, but I will certainly have to re-examine just how much I confide in them. The one friend really disappointed me, I went through a year of helping this individual with things that would have cost her over $1K, but she didn't have to pay a dime because of what I did (sometimes causing me a lot of bother).

At this point, I'm not going to cut anyone out of my life (we're all part of a larger group that gets together, so it's not feasible). I just won't go out of my way to help these folks. Which really makes me sad.

So sorry to hear of this betrayal.... it's so frustrating when you try to help and get stabbed in the back...

I'm sorry you have to go through this Andi, esp after helping them out, but a friend's betrayal is very upsetting. You don't deserve to be hurt like that.

The picture with the pink insulation is the old material. I was worried about the plywood under the old insulation but so far it is in really good shape. So glad we covered it in tar 25 years ago before installing the last roof. The new material is the white cover board and under that is the sloped foam and reflective foam. And the last picture is pulling back the old rubber, the new rubber will go over the entire roof once all the foam is replaced. But when I went to pull the old rubber back it was too short. It had pulled tight in 25 years of shrinkage and I never though of that, so of course your exhausted and now you have to work another 1-1/2 hours to add a section to the edge so it does not leak.

OMG KT - what a massive undertaking, esp with all the wind & rain we've been having. Take care.

I Thought I Knew someone and was Betrayed... I wound up taking it in the back.
I had to give up my Standby that I did for over a Decade until that "someone" wanted the Duties.

No one had the guts to say anything to me beside "turn in the cell phone".
My direct Manager did show me the Email, though... and it was not "polite".

It Depressed and Bothered me.
I had to be Professional, though.
Went to w*rk each day, did my job and spoke to him only when Necessary.

In looking for Extra Weekend w*rk, I had a Company Contact me.
I Start Tomorrow... so some Things Happen for Reasons.

Take what You have Learned as a Lesson.
You let You Guard down (as I had) and were taken Advantage.

You are Wise and will Learn & be Cautious.
When "they" come Begging for Help, just let them Know that Your Schedule is Booked.

The Hurt does not go away... but it does Lessen.
