I did my first chocolate baking! Last week I made brownies but they were not that bad. Today, I made dark chocolates truffles from scratch! They looked ugly but they were tasty! My bro caught me so I had to share with him LOL
Here is my brownies photo:

I made cornbread tonight, using this recipe: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Homesteader-Cornbread/
It's yummy! Took the advice of the reviews and mixed for five minutes.

Birthday cake for our son yesterday. Yep, he's a man, and knows I can make any kind of cake, but he absolutely loves from a mix rainbow bits cake, lol! Made with buttercream icing, jam and icing in the middle, with candy decorations.

I made "Housekeeper's Bread" from an old Quebec recipe. It uses potato yeast as a starter. I guess yeast was expensive back then as it really stretches it out.

hahahaha! Seems like everyone is making banana cakes, muffins and loaves! This morning i made a banana cake for the Remembrance Day celebration at the Legion on Saturday, but hubby started eating it! So gotta make another one. I also made a new recipe that i never tried before. Applesauce cinnamon cookies with yogurt frosting. I didnt do the frosting because i didnt have any plain greek yogurt. Just made the cookies, they came out more like gallettes which is ok anyway. Not bad.

Last time i made this i used blueberry jam. This time i used homemade peach jam.
RASPBERRY SQUARES
2 cups all purpose flour
2 cups Quaker oats
1 cup Brown sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup butter, softened
2 cups raspberry jam (or any other fruit jam)
In large bowl, stir together flour, oats, sugar, baking soda and salt. Using pastry blender, cut in butter until crumbly. Press 2/3 of mixture into greased 13 x 9 inch cake pan. spread with jam. Cover with remaining mixture.
Bake in 350F oven for 35-40 minutes or until golden Brown and jam begins to bubble. Let pan cool on rack. Run knife around edge to prevent sticking. Makes 24 squares.

I'm baking fruit-filled oatmeal bars for a baby shower this weekend. I might also make rice krispie squares and apple crisp. We shall see.
