Day 7 of spending diet: 30.00 on laundry card (in an apartment, so have reloadable cards), and 4.70 for milk.

Can't seem to keep up with this thread but I do enjoy reading it. I spent yesterday painting my friend's place so it put me behind on my own stuff. Is it just me??? I raised 3 kids on my own, worked full time and took a kid to hockey 5x week..managing to get housework and stuff done before the weekend. Now I feel like I'm never on top of things. I probably sit around procrastinating more than ever and feel more stress than ever. Logic says this should work in the opposite way .I'm still reading back ...wishing you all the best..thanks for sharing a little of your lives here.

Today is catch up day from vacation-3 loads of laundry and grocery shopping-sister and bil came for lunch and I played Scrabble with my sister. Spent $75 on goceries which seemed good to me-No Frills had hams and boneless, skinless chicken breasts on so stocked up and lots of fresh fruit and veggies on sale. Coupon from Shoppers for milk. Nice sunny warm day here.

@avoncallingu geez your poor man is quite the trooper, I would definitely insist that his incision get checked out as infections can spread like wild fire, hugs to you as "nurse" and spouse and hope he starts to feel like his old self soon

    Hey all,

My parents came for a visit, it was okay, I don't want to go into it but it was very frustrating....sigh.

We all went to the re-use it centre, I got a bright pink Columbia fleece jacket and some summer capris and a stunning blue Jones New York Dress, I joked and told dh he needs to take me out (wink) as our 20th Anniversary is in May (lol).

And we got a awning in the same maroon color as accents of our house, we need to decide if it will go at the back door or in the front of the house, dh thinks it will fit in the back better BUT free!!!

Don't forget to post your name suggestions for the April thread.

    Chat later

Finally moved dresser to basement bedroom. Will move stuff into it tomorrow night. Waiting for dinner as I'm starved. My man made homemade scalloped potatoes, ham and green beans. It smells so good in here. Fried and boiled eggs for the next few days. Made oatmeal for the next 2 days. Made oatmeal/chocolate balls. We had chicken on bbq last night so had him cook 3 extra breasts for me to use for my work lunches this week with salad.

Lol, Terry you have grown up children. Try being 48 (in few weeks) with a 14 yr old and an 11 yr old, what was I thinking.
Baked 4 loaves of banana bread, it freezes so well so 1 will stay out for lunches this week.
Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

^ Kudos to you WONDERFUL moms, of whatever age!

I was 10 when my mom had her sixth child when she was 46. I know she had a hard time, but had lots of help with older siblings and some church ladies. When I was that age, our son was 16, he's now 23 and I'm 54.

Oh, we would have loved to have more children, at whatever age, I think! But at least we were blessed with our wonderful son!

Speaking of him, he was over for supper and a nice visit - hadn't seen him for a whole week, and though we talk through the week, he says just how much he misses us - and, of course, us - him!

Fed him well, sent him home with leftovers from today, plus another meal I cooked for him, some bagels, a case of iced tea, and corn muffins I baked this morning (he just loves them!).

avon, your husband is in my prayers - those darned infections are pesky critters. I've dealt with bouts of cellulitis in the past, and have had to go through stronger and stronger meds to combat it.

thriftygranny, you are in my prayers as well - hopefully you are okay til further investigation can be done.

Insane - hoping your son is doing alright, not having a diagnosis must be so frustrating.

Well, I think I'll head to bed to read for a while.
