I used to be part of that group, travelling with a bunch of friends to stay at a cottage for a week. They would shop at the local marked up IGA and repeatedly refused my offer to bring up food (bought on sale, coupons, etc.) and insisted on buying at the local store. It was only 2.5 hours away. We'd all have to share in the cost, add in fireworks, and the cost would be astronomical! Nothing was purchased on sale and the higher priced the better.

I suppose it was their way of celebrating life. I'm not really sure....

We have had big bills at RCSS and have never shut down the lane (but there are usually non food items involved too). When I shop at FB, I typically spend $100. So I had 2.5 times the food I normally do. It is self bag...and they don't dare to help. Both runners at the end were filled with my food (they usually split, one is yours and one is the next customers) and I was unloading the whole time she was scanning. There wasn't room for anyone else. She looked at me and said. I guess I'll close and take my break.

This is the same store that when I went in 9 months pregnant with a preschooler and it was dead. The cashier watched (actually watch) me bag all my groceries with not one other customer to serve. She even had a non-work related conversation in front me with, yep, the manager.

I hate Food Basics, but when they have 99 cent deals and I am hosting my extended family for a BBQ, you can bet I am shopping there.

I probably spent $120 on our groceries (stocked up on a lot of staples), $80 on company, $35 gluten free, $15 on tax.

I remember those days lol. But we were young and money meant nothing right? lol. So glad we are smart shoppers now! I have already started picking up snacks etc for camping and boating season! No last minute store stops for marshmallows and chips! I'm ready!

Here the IGA is now FOODLAND and so expensive!!! I can't believe all the regulars there.

You hear it all the time living in cottage country, "I don't care the price, just grab it" must be nice but I think I would have panic attacks shopping like that.

@cath007 sending prayers for your family
@avoncallingu hope your hubby feels well after his treatment, I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your pet, it's so heart breaking, we don't realize how much we love them until they pass on. Eventhough it has been 3 years since my Jasper went to doggie heaven, I miss & think of him daily, he truly was a 1 in a million dog.

Well my May budget is out of wack and like many others not going to have enough for the month...sigh..

The contractor came this am and I was polite, I'm still pissy about the whole situation, he was supposed to tile my vestibule as well, everything is siting right by the front door and he can't miss the stuff BUT hasn't mentioned that at all.

He will be back this afternoon to add a little mud to the 1 spot that dh didn't get too until Sunday. he is planning on painting the ceiling in the bedroom tomorrow AND I will be asking him to paint the ceiling in the vestibule since he has it out. It will literally take 5 minutes as the room is so small if not I will do it myself.

Yesterday was a horrible day, 1st the contactor, then my inlaws I called over and MIL had me on speaker phone, I asked to speak to FIL and she said "I don't know what she wants now!!!", the calling the bank about mortgage 3 calls and nothing, called 1800 and she answered...hm...anyways dh will be picking up paperwork on Thursday and returning Friday am before work.

All I can say is dh called at noon and I just about broke down, oh well.

    Wishing everyone a great day

Well folks I have dusted off the old coupon binder, ds2 and I clipped the few coupons we have and we're back to couponing and trading. Tomorrow's goal is to start my tradelist.

Things are so tight this month my goals for my grocery category which includes everything (under the sun - haha) that goes into my cart (med, hygiene, food, cleaners, etc) will either have to be a really good deal and stockup on meat this month and that's it. Take advantage of the sales, sdm offers, etc.

    Wishing everyone a great evening.

J & C: let me know once it's done, it I have anything you need I will be happy to send them to you. I am not buying much so not using many coupons. I am back on weight watchers so little processed food is coming in. I am still having luck with the coupon board at Fotinos.
I did drag myself to Walmart today because my No Frills was out of the country natural hot dogs and even when they had them it was a limit of 2. So I bought 5 packages and they applied the coupon as 2.50 so nice to get overage. Logan is the only one the likes them bug they freeze and I will give a couple packs to a friend.
