Queen, David Cameron lead Britain's reactions to Orlando shooting
The Queen has led tributes to the victims of the Orlando nightclub massacre as Britons shared messages of support on social media.
David Cameron, George Osborne and graffiti artist Banksy were among the high profile figures who took to Twitter to share their condolences after 50 party-goers were shot dead at a gay club in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Many Britons urged America to 'stay strong', evoking the spirit of defiance seen following the 7/7 London bombings in 2005. Scores used #LoveWins in a show of support for the LGBT community.

We don't get CNN on tv, though I was able to follow their coverage on radio all day yesterday.

Seems the shooter may have been visiting Pulse for 3 years and been on a gay phone app for a year and a half...and his father is so anti-gay...

Could have been scoping the club out...could have been gay or bi..
Could just have been an a$$hole with a legally bought semi-automatic gun...
Could be using religion to validate his a$$holiness

I laugh at people who interpret Nostradamus...except those who predict the forthcoming Penguinocracy because those are 110% correct.
Nostradamus predicted that Obama would be victorious in the 2013 elections, but he also predicted that Mr Barack Obama would be America’s LAST president. Does that mean that the time has come for the United States to pass the torch to someone else? Who will be the next superpower? China? Russia? North Korea? Nothing is certain.
But if you want to publish your interpretations of the prophesies , get your basic facts right..

Shooter may not have understood differences between ISIS, al-Qaida and Hezbollah
Comey said that during the calls, Mateen also mentioned Moner Mohammad Abusalha, a fellow Floridian who had traveled to Syria to fight with Jabhat al-Nusra, the al-Qaida affiliate in Syria. Mateen had been investigated by the FBI for his contact with Abusalha in 2014, but the case was quickly closed. Abusalha returned to Syria, where he killed himself in a suicide attack.
Further confusing matters, Comey also revealed that in "inflammatory and contradictory" comments to co-workers in 2013, Mateen had claimed to be a member of Hezbollah, the Shiite militia based in Lebanon.
To be clear, these groups named by Mateen are not allies. The Islamic State and al-Qaida both derive their theology from an extreme view of Sunni Islamism, but in practical terms the pair split in 2014, with the more established al-Qaida publicly disavowing the actions of the more extreme Islamic State. Jabhat al-Nusra, al-Qaida's affiliate in Syria, often fights the Islamic State in the Syrian conflict. Meanwhile, Hezbollah is a Shiite Islamist group. In Syria, it supports the government of Bashar al-Assad, effectively meaning it fights both the Islamic State and al-Qaida.

Changing the anthem - irks me to no end!
O Canada bill passes final Commons vote
Dying Liberal MP Mauril Belanger's private member's bill to make the national anthem more gender neutral cleared its final hurdle in the House of Commons today, passing by a vote of 225 to 74.
Bill C-210, which would change the second line of the anthem from "in all thy sons command" to "in all of us command," will now go to the Senate. Bélanger was in the House for the vote.
But the bill will still need to clear the Senate before it becomes law.

Well it doesn't irk me because while the French version has mostly stayed the same, there are piles of English versions, the standard English version has been changed a few times, and we don't even sing all of it anyway.

Nice clear article about the state of the assisted dying legislation right now:
http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/sena...-c14-1.3636488
The senate wants assited death to be open to anyone who wants it who is suffering, not just those who are going to die in the foreseeable future.
Also interesting is amendment 6, which would make it illegal for someone to assist in assisted death or be involved in signing on anyone's behalf if they were to monetarily benefit from that person's death. This is tricky though: that would rule out a spouse, a child...

Boys put rope round girl's neck, drag her around
bold mine....A Desire for sport?????? some strange kinda sport IMHO..A shocking lawsuit this week alleges that officials at the Live Oak Classical School in Waco, Tx. looked the other way after three white boys put a rope around a 12-year-old black girl’s neck and dragged her around.
WacoTrib.com reports that Levi McCathern, the attorney representing the girl’s family, alleges that the girl was continuously bullied even as school officials downplayed her treatment. The $3 million lawsuit alleges negligence, gross negligence and intentional infliction of emotional distress against the school.
The alleged incident took place during a school field trip to the Germer Ranch. The girl was watching some of her fellow students play on a rope swing when she suddenly felt a rope go around her neck. She subsequently slipped and fell to the ground while three white boys pulled on the rope, McCathern alleges.
“It looked like somebody had ripped her neck apart and stitched it back together,” the girl’s mother, Sandy Rougely, told The Dallas Morning News.
For its part, the school has claimed that the entire incident was an accident and the boys were just being playful when they put a rope around the girl’s neck. The Daily Beast flags some recently released emails between Sandy Rougely and school dean Allison Buras that show Buras tried really hard to downplay the seriousness of the incident.
“It sounds like he may have pushed on the back of her leg to make her leg buckle, which is something the kids sometimes do,” Buras wrote in one email. “Rarely is that done out of meanness but more out of a desire for sport.”
