Welcome back Lynn, and Nat, I'm glad you're starting to feel better.

Aaron Sanchez has been named to the all star team too.
They're currently winning the last game before the break 5 - 1 at the bottom of the 7th.

I hope you're all having a good day.
    Ribs again today.

^ I'd be in rib heaven, hicks! Unfortunately, the items at our Rib Fest are way to expensive for the average bear... but are good, we did do it a few years ago, and we freaked at the prices!

Feeling better in the woozy way, but not so much in the gut dept. Gah, if it isn't one thing, it's another...

It's certainly not cheap Nat. A rack of ribs is $23.; 1/2 rack $14.; and 1/3 rack $9.
The Bloomin Onion was $10., and the Funnel Cake $13. All drinks were $2.00

I bought a full rack today, but that'll do me 3 meals.

I don't know how I'll get through tomorrow, when I can't get to sleep tonight.

hicks, prices were similar here - I sure hope you got to sleep after you posted!

I first went to sleep after 11, and ended up sleeping a half hour then couldn't get back to sleep til after 1. Woke up at 2:30 crying and with a horrid headache; I had a nightmare - too much to explain, but it involved a wolf.

Well, it's the last day of holiday for my husband - the whole staff gets it off, for Orangemen's Day (courtesy of the owners, must be their heritage).

Hope everyone has a super day, and a nice start to the week!

a quick Monday hello to you all..... and there WILL be mail!
( ha ha CP withdrew their 72 hr lockout threat )

    I read back ( RIBS! ) a few posts ( RIBS! ) and noticed there was ( RIBS! ) mention of ( RIBS! )

argh!! I know what you both mean @22hicks and @Natalka . Those Ribfest celebrations are quite fun but they have always been too rich for our blood. I like doing my own up anyways.
Have a lovely day all, enjoy the rays!! ( and don't forget to watch the HR Derby tonight!! )

They are, but I can't make funnel cakes, nor have I ever cooked RIBS, ever. That was my DH's job, but alas ...........
So I splurge once a year.

Nothing wrong with that at ALL!

I make ribs, they are good, just not as wonderful as the restauranty type.

I tried making funnel cakes once - what a mess, but they tasted good. Why wouldn't fried dough taste good, lol!

They look so easy, but I think it just that they make it look that way.

Well I think I'm all sorted out for the w/end. My niece is getting married on Friday in Jordan, Ont. It's not far from Niagara On The Lake, so I'm staying overnight. It's a good 2 hour drive, and it'll be too late to drive home. I'm staying @ a B. & B., which is an Historical Site from the 1700's. I even have a king bed. My niece is marrying the son of a diplomat, so everything is elegant and very expensive. Even the dinner is $450. a plate, plus tax. That doesn't include the open bar, nor the late night meal, etc.

The gift is bought and wrapped; all directions printed out; mani & pedi booked for Thurs.; and my dog walker is going to look after Jake.

The biggest problem, what to wear. So, I had to find an appropriate dress, at a reasonable price, along with a light dressy jacket, and figure out all the accessories. The jacket is white, short, with 3/4 length sleeves. The dress is sleeveless, and a deep glittery blue. All the jewelry is sterling silver. It all looks so elegant, that is, till I get to the shoes. My leg is so bad, with a torn tendon, and ligaments, that I can't wear heels, which the dress really needs. The few flats I tried, just dig into my foot, right below the ankle, where they are the most painful. The only shoes I can wear are running shoes, and flip flops, and even with those, I need physio tape and a brace for support. Looks really great - NOT !!! I finally decided on a white pair of dressy sandals, and they'll have to do.

Even though it's occupied a lot of my time and thoughts, I'm really looking forward to it.

Wowsers, hicks, that sounds wonderful - hope you have an absolutely fabulous time!

Well, it has rained all afternoon - and looks like that will extend into the evening, overnight, and into tomorrow. It's just steady drizzling, not like a downpour, like some of the places have had to deal with in the province, so that's good for us.
