Loocie- every time I type your name, my Kindle autocorrects it to "Police"! It makes me smile every time!
I am so very glad to hear that your surgery went well and that you are celebrating with a weekend away!
I entered bids into an online auction to support a dog rescue in Chatham.
Well, I don't think that they advertised it very well, because I "won" quite a few of my bids that were meant just to get things rolling! My family members are going to get some odd presents for Christmas ! Last year, I used Tim's cards as stocking stuffers but warned them all that I thought I might have already used one to buy a cup of tea. (My nephews are beginning to think that I am like the senile old lady in "National Lampoon' s Christmas Vacation" who wraps up the cat and also her jello salary meant for dinner!)
Enjoy the first fall weekend!Last edited by avoncallingu; Sun, Sep 25th, 2016 at 02:38 PM.

Hi Loocie!
The full, impenetrable leaves on the tree just outside our windows has started to be more "lacy" now. I was hoping for scarlet red leaves but will have to be satisfied with the yellows she is offering.
We all do our best at the jobs we have to do and, I guess she just didn't get enough moisture this summer.
I saw a mourning dove sitting very contentedly on one of her branches this morning. I don't think she was aware that I can peak in on her now when she thinks she has a few quiet minutes to herself. Whatever babies she may have busily fed and taught to fly and coo are off making their own places. "The empty nest." I wonder if she observes us and says, "Yes, that family is going through the 'empty house' time of their lives?"
There are two branches outside of our kitchen window that I can see when I eat. They form a moving heart shape. It always sends me a nice message.
So, I hope you are able to take some quiet time and think about the many changes of this lovely season!
Take care, my friend!

Hoping your Thanksgiving was a warm, close time with your family. Big family celebrations can be stressful or fun and sometimes, there's no predicting how they will turn out. We were literally on the road to DH's sister's home before he made a decision to go. He hadn't been feeling well but did take some meds and as we headed down the highway, he felt better. It was a nice time to get to know our new BIL's family. The logistics of the day weren't great but the person-to-person time was great.
Tomorrow DH gets the results of his latest CT scan and plans will be made about how to proceed, I'm hoping. So many tentative plans rely on how the next few weeks will unfold. Think about you lots! Best wishes, my friend!

I am glad to be here. Over the last week, I was admitted to Princess Margaret for some rest, some tests & just to get my ducks in a row. The treatment I have been taking for nearly 2 years has concluded. We will be looking into the feasibility of another clinical trial (don't kn ow if there is one that would be a good fit for me, but we'll see) This sarcoma does not respond to traditional chemotherapy. So, I am between a rock & a hard place. I am kinda glad that I won't have to take that drug anymore it was so brutal. Now I can eat too.
Lots to think about, but right now I get a rest from treatment.
