Thanks @22hicks . Yeah snow snow everywhere. 2 more days off for me sat and sun so I'm probably not going anywhere. Did everything I had to do tonight and carried back 6 full bags on the bus.

I think Lynn means "J"Jackson "P"ollack - (I may have spelled that wrong,) but I was thinking the same thing!
How special to have an original piece of art done by your uncle!
Oh my, such unexpected bad news from far and wide. I am so sad to hear about all the good friends and relatives that are going through hard times. Prayers for all.
Natalka, I have been taking the Turmuric AND using the "That Stuff For Pain" spray that Lynn recommended. They have been helping. It seems to me that you said, though, that you can't use sprays on your skin. Hope you feel better soon! My back would be in a constant spasm with the temperatures you have been telling us about!
Well, the sand-man calls! Keep warm and be careful in that ice-snow combination that we are supposed to get down here!

You know...... I COULD put on a couple layers of clothes under my long coat, some boots, gloves and my toque and go out and shovel the path and driveway
......OR.......
I could just keep peeking out the window at the newest snowfall and hope it will disappear on its own by the morning.
If I went out now I'd wake all the neighbours up anyways with the scraping sound of the metal shovel on the cement.
This is not over by a long shot, more snow is to fall Saturday as well.
@22hicks , so sorry about the " snow shoveling blues " and sore body you got from your efforts
I napped from 11 p.m. till 1:20 a.m. ( unintentionally of course ) after making a quadruple ( batch ) recipe of these cookies. After watching the video from Mrs Volfie of Our Half Acre Homestead ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4cEvTCT5zbo ) make them, I knew they were something both simple to make and mouthwatering to serve!
When they were all done I bagged them into cellophane pouches ( 20 cookies to a bag ), tied each tightly with a pretty red ribbon, locked the bags into a Xmas tin that has a keen see through front window feature. Now debating whether I will plop the whole can into the freezer till the 25th or trust them to stay fresh as is??
DD got in late and ate a couple along with me for " testing " purposes only....hee hee.
@cabmonk that is quite the abstract painting you did, hope your cousin likes it, will you be placing it into a frame for her as well?
Unique Christmas gift.

Well I'mmmmm back. Another night without sleep.
This is getting ridiculous.
@walkonby , 3 batches of cookies, good for you. Good decision, not shovelling before you went back to bed. I did some about midnight, and just went out back, and there's at least 4 more inches. If this keeps up, I may just have to invest in another snow blower. My old one died about 6 years ago.

Good morning, all!
I slept from after 11 til nearly 1, I think - boy was it painful to get out of bed.
walks, I make those cookies every few years, except about golfball-sized - they are melt-in-the-mouth, for sure! It seems that many cultures have a variation of them - Mexican wedding cakes, Russian teacakes - and some other Slavic countries make them as crescents.
I haven't done any baking yet... gah!
Happy Caturday!

hiya @22hicks !! ( oops maybe you've gone back to catch a few more zzz's ) it was 4 batches of cookies that I made, but considering DD, DS, DH and myself all sampled some, there is probably just 3 batches remaining....ha ha
I was just about to don my snow shoveling apparel, did a quick peek out the window and

ALL the footprints that DS and DH had made coming in from work ( AFTER 3:30 a.m.!! ) are now completely covered over!!
AND IT IS STILL FALLING!!
Should I even bother? I very much dislike shoveling when by the time you are at the end of the path/driveway the first part shoveled is starting to look covered up again.
I need coffee I think...and some courage.

Good morning every1.
Anyone done the LAST of their snow, & want to pop over & do mine too?
Well, it was worth a shot.

@walkonby, sorry, 4 batches. I watched the video, & it seemed pretty simple.
I've done Jake's doggie run out back, but now, well lets just say I hope the ice pack does it's job.
This could almost be him, just a little too small, & shorter hair. Poor pups.

Walks and Hicks- Two words of advice- condo minium- or trailer park in Florida. Or BOTH! That's why there are so many OLD people in Florida- They don't fall down on ice or get chronic back pain from shovelling.
I have a 3 hour respite time today- first time I will have been outside since Monday. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this much of an extreme but someone else shovels.
