@Redneck Charger ...morphine and rye....yeeess...sounds lovely, earthy...I prefer Oxy and scotch myself...
Okay, people, settle down, I'm out of Oxy, so no requests, thank you, and have never taken it with scotch. At the same time.I'm thankful that most of the time now I don't even need any pain relief; it's only when I've overdone it that I take a couple xtra strength tylenol and lots of rest. And the pain is usually in my lower back, dang it.
SIL just drove home here to pick up our GS and he said it looks like Alaska here compared to the south. You know...where all those softies live. His brother lives in Georgetown and their grass is greening up already!! I hate that.
Wish you could smell my turkey veg soup...I had about 4 cups of stock (jelly) from that turkey so this is going to be so nice and rich and mmmm...those parsnips! Love 'em!! And everything else I toss in...anybody hungry?
Have you all seen the CBC article/tv report about TD's frontling operations, and the way the tellers are having to upsell their clients??
http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/td-tellers-desperate-to-meet-increasing-sales-goals-1.4006743
It must be hitting the fan over there...SO happy DD doesn't have to deal with that!! I think she left just in time.
She was always one smart cookie.

Came to bed to rest for an hour- having panic attacks about this trip- but my stepson is taking us on a canal cruise in Tampa Bay and going to take us to a neat restaurant to eat outside so he can bring his very sweet doggie- Holland. In 2 days! Yoiks! I have decided I need GPS- sorry now that I sold ours but my brother is going to phone me about an app he has on his phone.
Cabbie- be very careful with that "chaser" you have with your morphine or you may find yourself staring up at a doctor again from a hospital bed. If your pain meds aren't cutting it, I am glad you are seeing a pain specialist.
Well my headache seems to have subsided- back to planning which things go in which suitcases. I think I am just not giving enough credence to the fact that it was always DH and I doing all the packing and thinking and such. We had very different "get it done" styles when it came to travel but I could always rely on him to remember the things that I forgot.
Well, we are not going to Bora Bora, so if I forget it, I can buy it there! Back to it and stop snivelling!
See you later, folks!

Aw, @avoncallingu, it must be so difficult coping with the changes you're going through; I can only imagine how every event seems to be tied somehow with your beloved Husband. However, knowing him, he's probably looking at you and just smiling and shaking his head at how ... ahem ... unorganized you are rght now. Right? At least you're providing him with some entertainment.
Honey, don't fret so much over the details...they have underwear, toothpaste in Tampa Bay, I hear, so not to worry about what you might forget. Money, passport. That's it. Really...and esp if you want to buy new clothes...that's it in a nutshell!!
Now relax..deep breaths, your stepson has wonderful adventures planned for you and we all want you to have a wonderful time!! Love ya!
PS...give that cutie-pie a big hug from me!
And for you....group hug!

Hey everyone hope you are having a good day. Avon..
No flowers for RC lol.
Got my tax refund at 2am so I went down and paid my rent and bought the big boss oil less fryer online from walmart. Did all my groceries for a little while and spent $260. Bought a bunch of stuff to use with the oil less fryer like chicken breasts to make air fried chicken. But I forgot flour damn it lol. I should have the fryer by thursday. So I took the 2 - 8 pack chicken breasts and put them 2 to a pack in freezer bags. Also took the 2 - 2lb ground beef and separated them into 1lb bags. @Lynn49 I didn't buy any pop or frozen meals lol.

I had one of the oil-less fryers before a few years ago and I liked it. I had it for a couple years but had to get rid of it. I will tell you how it works out, it always made good air fried chicken for me in the past. It's not a bad device for $85 but it can't do any battered items. I used to use it every day.

Yay, good for you, Cabbie!!! Love that you didn't buy pop, either. I wish my DH didn't drink the stuff...drain cleaner. Ugh.
I hope you have really good success with that air fryer; we have an Actifry and love the french fries it makes, so much better for us than deep fried or frozen whatever they put in it, in the oven.
We do the same thing with meats...DH divides them up and freezes 2-3 depending on the sizes of chicken breasts, pork loin chops. But never, ever has to divide the boneless, skinless chicken thighs....honestly...all he does is dip them into an egg wash, then into Aurora breadcrumbs and bakes them for about an hour. I could eat the entire pan myself, they're that good. I have no idea why, they're just the best things ever! Not, unfortunately for your new fryer, but at least they're not deep fried, either.
Enjoy cooking, Chef!!

Thanks Lynn, I'll see how it goes. It's often hard for me to make meals being single but I try. I'll make the "fried" chicken but also burgers, meatloaf and meatballs with the ground beef. Today I also bought a pan set with 2 non stick pans.

Well, looks like we are sticking to usual weather patterns; we do usually get 1/3 of our snow in March.
One of my older sisters took this photo - hits that irony...

Oh, my goodness, Natalka!!! Those Ukrainian photos brought back so many memories...where on earth did she find that setting with the enamel-ware, log cabin siding and the lace shelf coverings?! That was so beautiful!!
I still have one of my Mom's red and white enamel pot covers...the darn thing fits on everything!!
What a talent and gift your Sister has!!

You are coming along splendidly, Cabbie!! I can sure understand how difficult it is to cook for one...whenever my DH was out of town overnight dinner usually consisted of poached eggs on toast or french toast...something fast and easy, but certainly not something that would make me svelte in any way!!!
I made a big pot of turkey soup this afternoon for us and oh my was it wonderful! I'll live on it for the next several days and hope to knock off a few more pounds; that is...as long as I don't bake bread to dunk into it!!
