    @kidsteph @Anna Michele

    My Mom had sorrel in her garden, and made the most amazing soup from it - called shchavel.
    I don't have the recipe (she probably didn't use one, she rarely did), and when I look at the ones online I'm not sure which it would be - even when searching Ukrainian sorrel soup.
    But wow, it was SO yummy!
    Alas, the things we lose when our Moms are gone...

    There is a recipe for Sorrel Borsch in Savella Stechishin's Traditional Ukrainian Cookery book. She was a wonderful lady and her book is a staple. Maybe that is a recipe you may find similar?

    Thanks for the info! They`ve lasted a week+ so far, however, the info you sent it appears I`m going to kill them pretty soon (Not in a proper draining pot, over watering...)

    I just found it online for $89.00 plus shipping ... not sure where you are looking. This is from a bookseller in Victoria BC.

    If you would like the recipe I referred to @Natalka , let me know. If not, no worries.

    Right now I've got two little miniature iris like plantlets! out of I think about 15 big round seeds that I planted. Not bad But otherwise a sad looking seed tray. I got a veggie raised bed for mom's day and it is all set to go, I am going to get some seedlings instead of seeds.

    Happy gardening! I was able to prep my raised beds and plant seed and the purchased seedlings. Plus hubby built 5 deck cedar boxes and 2 have flowers and the matching 3 have herbs and lettuce. This weekend I plant my heirloom seedlings which are thriving.

    @GoJays
    So they`re actually doing really well! They seemed to be kind of at a standstill until...

    Wouldn`t put these on my catgrass (Which grew without any sunshine or help really) or herbs but for flowers it's perfect!

    As much as I`d love to hang the diamond one, the loop snapped off and I don`t want to risk it smashing to pieces so it's staying as is with some repair glue.

    Waiting for the warmer weather, going to start my mini greenhouse to grow some cat grass. Have some herbs as well.

    I gave the sorel soup recipe a try. I blended it up nice and smooth in the vitamix. It was different but something I'd likely not make again.

    Everything is coming up nicely, albeit slower this year. My fruit trees are doing great though. I see lots of plums and pears where last year I had 1 plum. And I see tonnes of apples forming. And my blueberry bushes have lots of berries forming (I planted them last year).
