Quick hello!
It's the sandcastle contest today so the beach is filled with families building castles, and sculptures.
Dinner will be the pig, corn roast, then "Chicks with Sticks" will entertain us...there will be partying and dancing....so...off to the beach!
Have a great day, everyone!

@Lynn49 Sounds fun, have fun.
Last night Food basics reduced their ready to go cooked chickens right before closing. I know most places will do that if they have a few left and they are closing soon. I bought a 1/2 cooked chicken for $2.39 which was great. In Vancouver the grocery store close to me had an even better deal and would do the same before they closed. Right before close whole cooked chickens were $3.00. I often got a huge take out tray of all their remaining potato wedges for like .50 cents and 10 egg rolls for $1.00. I also remember they had bins with individually wrapped bulk wieners (not cooked). They would reduce the wieners so they could replenish with new stock. Expiry dates were still 2-3 weeks away. They would take a bunch of wieners and pack them into produce bags to clear them out. I picked up a bag that had probably 25 wieners in it. It had no price on it so I asked and the meat department manager wrote $1.00 on it and initialed it. Not a bad deal lol and these were huge all beef.

(gah, I hate having to start replies over....)
I talked with my husband this afternoon, so good to hear his voice - so hard to not be with him! He's doing well.
Milan came here after seeing him, and told me that his dad really looks well, so much better than yesterday, and is doing okay. The surgeon said that things went even better than she had expected.
So, that's all good. Sigh.

Natalka, I am so glad that all went well with your husband. I know it's hard for sons (children in general) to see their parents incapacitated and vulnerable. It takes it's toll and so I am glad Milan was able to talk his feelings through with you.
Now what about you-how are you doing?
Lindi, your sand castle challenge sounds like lots of fun and then the rest of the great day!!!
I drove to London and picked up my frozen food, the cat and I I also bought a chair from the ReStore.
The chair was unexpected.
The meeting of the minds has not exactly been without challenges. But time will tell. I really don't know what we'll do if they don't settle. So far both are being a little "I'm the boss here".
Well, my heel has been killing me so I am not getting as much done as I would like.
But-one has to listen to her/his body, right?
Sleep well, folks!

Finally to bed, great evening, our GS tied for first place with his hippopotomus sculpture, the band was great but we all retreated to the comfy outdoor liviingroom on the kids' deck to listen to the music. It was fun to have our SIL and his friend (who has the band on the side) singing the lyrics to the songs; next week they're going to bring out their guitars and his song collection and entertain us all on the deck....it's likely to even draw others off the streets! It's really mind-boggling how we can ask them any questions about groups, song writers, etc, and they know exactly who did/sung/wrote them all!
Good night everyone, sweet dreams and have a lovely, relaxing Sunday.

Happy Sunday!
Packing up soon to head home....DD and GS are staying, SIL and 3 friends will be heading to the big city tomorrow for the Coldplay concert then staying at the 4-Seasons before coming home on Tuesday, with SIL heading back here to camp that day.....DD has taken the week off.
I'm ready to go home and relax.....2 physio appts next week, picking out fabrics with my GF on Tuesday, then lunch, who bought the same snowman panel, so that'll be fun, mixing and matching fabrics.

Have a great Sunday, everyone!!

Sorry for the misunderstanding @Lynn49 , I wasn't away.
I had to help out @ church early this morning, so left the house about 7, then, back to Rogers for about the 20th time to get my phone fixed.
They set it up with the wrong phone number, and they haven't been able to correct it.
So for about 3 weeks, I haven't had a phone.
I THINK it's ok now. It better be
