Haha....honestly, Avon, they're not any different to me than any other helpless little critter out there: frightened, alone, hungry, in need of love, nurturing and security. I can't get enough of watching them eat solid food for the first time, fitting 4 grapes into their wee mouths and simply enjoying that small luxury...it just makes my heart so happy!

Well, April has arrived. Happy Easter! I seem to be caught in a time warp.
Our new neighbour will be moving in tomorrow. Lots of commotion in our little foyer. Hope she likes dogs!
Very tired. Hope our friend Walks is ok and has some great medicine to make her feel better.
No sunrise service for me tomorrow but do have to get there early to practice our anthem.
I'll end by saying, "Hallelujah, He is Risen. He is Risen, Indeed!"
Wishing Peace and Light to everyone.

Good day and a Blessed Easter Sunday to everyone. Thanks for all the well wishes, I am definitely feeling improved. The congestion is now a minor aggravation rather than a choking hazard. Our family dinner is today, but gosh, with all the night owl behaviours that everyone has we'll be lucky to get everyone up and awake before 4 today.
Fingers crossed though, DH made the whole meal himself!
Chicken Parmesan, ( he used plump fresh skinless boneless breasts ) and penne with sauce, garlic toast.
No chocolate, no dessert, other than fruit. It's a start!

Good morning!
Easter basket from yesterday, prepared for blessing.
Христос Воскрес! (Khrystos Voskres!) Christ is Risen!
Воїстину Воскрес! (Voyistynu Voskres!) Truly He is Risen!
Husband has gone to Resurrection Matins and Easter Divine Liturgy, started at 7:30.
I'll be making cabbage rolls...

Good morning, everyone and Happy EASTER!!
@walkonby , I'm so relieved to hear that you're feeling so much better and that your family is chipping in with your Easter dinner. Isn't it great to have Hubbys who can cook?? Our SIL made them a pork and mushroom risotto the other day that I want the recipe for! I hope you feel better as each day passes, Walks.
@Natalka , sorry my bats creep you out, I won't post them on here anymore. It's funny (maybe funny isn't the right word) how as children we're taught to fear something that is more frightened of us than we should be of them. Those idiots who spew the lies that they "dive for our hair" or "suck our blood" aught to be put in a cage with those beautiful little beings to learn how wonderful they really are and how much good they do for our human and animal populations.
Fun Facts:
Bats control the insect population by eating tons of them every night. Without bats our world would be overwhelmed with insects. They can eat over one thousand insects in an hour, including disease carrying varmints such as mosquitoes. The bats use a high frequency built in navigation system that can spot out insects immediately.
Unfortunately, because WE are taking over their natural habitats, they've been forced to move into our cities. Still they maintain a distance with humans and prefer their own company. It's rare for a bat to carry rabies.
@GoJays, yes, absolutely agree, most breeds are absolutely adorable!
What a nice feeling not to have to prepare a dinner for guests, let alone ourselves today!! I can just imagine what our DD's MIL is going through right now...all I have to do is prepare a veggie dish which will be a creamy cauliflower, broccoli, carrot casserole.
Everyone, have a blessed Easter Sunday however you choose to celebrate it!!

Lynn, I didn't mean to imply you should not post them, feel free! My son has been enjoying bats, he is out on an acreage and they hang around his bedroom window. As a kid he loved the book Stellaluna, which you might look into for your grandson.
Husband helping to cook here, too. He fried the bacon, sauteed the onions, and did the legwork for cooking the rice. Just waiting for the mixture to cool so I can start rolling holubtsi. Everything else is cooked. Milan will come for an early supper, which makes it three days in a row! Ah, the lure of cabbage rolls...
So aside from it being Easter and April fool's day, it's also the anniversary of when my +Dad was ordained to the Diaconate. That was a very special day!
Have a great day, everyone!
