    TGIF!!! The sun is shining!

DS is golfing this afternoon afterschool. He and friends bought memberships so they can golf all the time. It is great that they all enjoy it and it gets them out in the fresh air for hours! (Don't all hockey players play golf? lol)

Dinner- Fend for yourself. Lots of leftovers in the fridge. I will pop whatever is left in the freezer tonight before bed.

Went to the laundromat last night and washed bedding. (saves wear on my machine and its just too big for the dryer) Was nice to crawl into a clean bed last night

    Have a wonderful day everyone!

    Good Morning Everyone,
Attended a work event yesterday, stayed longer than expected so that was my day by the time I got home and dealt with the work emails from the day.

Last night for dinner we just had waffles as neither of us were really that hungry. I ate at the event, we had a food truck.

I might have to change my plans for the weekend, I woke up with a horrible headache this morning. I seriously thought about emailing in sick as I was not functioning well, but it is starting to dull now. I also forgot Mom has an appointment this afternoon so she will not be home to help. We will see how the day goes and how I feel a little later.

Need to go grocery shopping, I was going to grocery shop on my way home yesterday but since I left so late, I did not. Was going to go today, but we shall see, right now I do not want to go. I also need to go to Costco as there are a few executive coupons I want to take advantage of.

Trying to be realistic on what we can get done this weekend and not expect too much. I am really trying to find the balance even though I just want all the things done and done now.

    Happy Friday Everyone

Did my last crazy day this week before it starts all over again next week . Managed to do my 20 min upper body weights after work plus a 15km ride. Strangely I have energy so I’m contemplating going for a run after dh finishes his workout.

Tomorrow is just the usual laundry and cleaning stuff. Bedding is on the to do list for sure. After I deep clean I’m going to wash out my vacuum and the filters. They have to air dry for a min 24 hours before I can use it again so I have to do a very thorough vacuum.

Also need to check the flyers and possibly get a veg list done.

Enjoying my coffee on the deck. It’s still a bit cool but it’s full sun so a blanket makes it ok. There is not much for groceries this week. A bit of produce and that’s it. Today I will spend some time in the garden. I really want to get my flowers but it’s too soon so I need to practice patience.

    Good Morning Everyone,
Was up early this morning had a cup of tea and debated my day.

After Mom's appointment yesterday she went to Wal-Mart and grabbed Raspberries, they were out of Blackberries. She also decided she wanted Mary Brown's for her Mother's day Dinner so she grabbed that on her way home, I paid.

This morning I was torn so I shop local or stay home. The more I thought about it I decided to go to Costco, Normally I go when I am working in our location close to Costco but we might be 3 or 4 people short this week so I am not sure how my week will shape up. I love that the sales lately are a month long but the executive coupons are only 2 weeks and this week coming is the last week and there are few things I wanted.

Off to Costco I went, I am happy, I came in under budget. I got:
Sandwich Meat $16.99 - $4 off (it is a 3-pack with turkey, ham and chicken)
    Kirkland Laundry Detergent $17.49 - $4.00 off
    Kirkland Chicken Broth $10.99 - $2.50 off
    2 x Popcorners $6.99 - $2.00 Off
    1 x Chicago Style Popcorn $6.99 - $2.00 off
    1 x Mr Clean Clean Freak $8.99 - $2.00 off
*I have heard good things about this for degreasing and I want to put in peel and stick backsplash so I will use this to clean the wall before hand
    1 x Dawn Platinum $11.99 - $2.00
*Will use this to wash the walls before we paint
Pickles - The Costco Jar will last us the summer
    Olives - Mom was out
    Tim Horton's Coffee
    Salad Topper
    Whipping Cream
    Cheddar Cheese
    Regular Chips
    Hot Dogs Buns
    Sandwich Buns
    Maple Syrup
    Ricotta

Not a large trip, mainly only went for the things that were on sale and grabbed the other things because I was there. I have noticed it is time to check prices again with sales prices going up there were some things I saw that Costco is now cheaper than the sale price. I did notice that their produce has really gone up in price, better to watch for sales. I feel like grocery shopping has become a bit of a sport to keep on budget.

I will still grab a few things locally next week, I thought about going after I put the Costco stuff away but got some stuff to tackle around the house.

    Happy Saturday Everyone

@lilo0003 I was at Costco today and the number of people I saw returning plants was unreal, it was actually kind of sad to see.

I counted one woman was returning at least 6 hanging baskets.

@SassyAshley is the Kirkland laundry detergent any good from Costco?
@coupongirl do you do knee exercises? By keeping the muscle around your knee strong, you can put off replacement, unless its' bone on bone. I have exercises my physio gave me when my knee pain flares up.

Beautiful but windy day. Any tips on ways to get rid of squirrels? I have beautiful cardinals that come to my feeder but are scared off by a big, nasty squirrel.

@barbis9 , I have not tried the Costco detergent yet but I have had a few people recommend it but most did say they prefer Free & Clear.

I actually have both as last time it was on sale they did not have the Free & Clear so I grabbed the Ultra Clean which will be the next bottle I use. But I felt confident grabbing a Free & Clear this time around due to recommendations from others who say they only use the Costco laundry detergent.

@barbis9 from what I have read about squirrels (we have a huge squirrel issue where I live because a neighbour behind us feeds them), it is mostly smells they do not like but with that being said I do not know if the smell would also determine the birds.

    Squirrels do not like:
    Peppermint
    Coffee
    Moth Balls
Spicy (Chili Powder, Cayenne Pepper) - There are a number of recipes on the internet to make a Spice Spray to deter them.
    Bleach

You can use an Owl Decoy to scare them but from the research I did it said if you use the owl decoy you need to keep moving it around or the Squirrels become smart and realize it is not real a threat.

Happy Mother's Day! Hope you have the beautiful sunshine we have today!

Dropped DS off at work this morning for 9am and then went to RCSS and FB. Lost of fresh fruit and veggies (bananas, strawberries and raspberries, cucumbers, mushrooms ) BLSL chicken breast and a package of Peameal ($1.99 Lb ) I have lots of peameal in the freezer but decided to get a fresh one and I will cook it up this week. Thinking breakfast for dinner one night and then breakfast sandwich for DS before school. (to use up the buns I bought)

I just cleaned out the fridge. I brought my portable table up from the basement and took EVERYTHING out! Totally cleaned it and tossed a grocery bag full of stuff we just aren't using or are past the date (salad dressing etc) 10 bottles of sauces DS needs to decide if he will use if not they will be tossed next. It looks so good now and I will keep on top of it now.

Washed up a few packages of raspberries and strawberries so they are ready to eat/pack DS's lunch tomorrow.

Found the $1 off any Hellman's product coupon today!!! This makes me happy lol. I can't believe the price of it now. So hopefully a MAY 24 sale will happen!!

    Have a wonderful day!

@Frugalbigmama I will need to watch for the Hellman’s coupons as we are almost out and yikes the price. I totally scored on peameal roast yesterday, 91 cents a kg. Yes I bought 8. They are short dates but I tossed in the freezer. I actually found some decent prices on Flashfood today and I have a nail appointment in the area so will stop to pick it up.
Is a sunny clear day so for the 1st time this year clothes are on the line. It’s a load of sheets and that’s the best thing to line dry, the fresh scent is heavenly.
