The doctor said the spreading itchy spots are caused by a virus. I was given a prescription antihistamine for the itching and scheduled a followup appointment for next week Friday.
edit: it’s not a cure, but the prescription antihistamine significantly reduced my current level of itchiness. Since it’s a prescription, most of the cost is covered vs the expensive Benadryl that I was taking on the weekend.
edit update: The antihistamine helped for most of the afternoon, but it’s clear that it’s already wearing off…I’m becoming increasingly more itchy.Last edited by Angela273; Tue, Jul 19th, 2022 at 07:15 PM.

For some reason I had a large food credit amount on my card at casino so decided on my way home today to order food for boys to go.
Ordered 2 x wings, chicken parm and a beef dip sandwich with sweet potato fries.
I wasn't going to gamble but he said be about 15 mins for the food so I put a $20 in and cashed out with $74! So it paid for my gas top up plus extra to put in my wallet And now I don't have to cook dinner
I think I would actually go swimming in the lake now. It feels hot enough Will see if DS wants to come for a swim later.Last edited by Frugalbigmama; Tue, Jul 19th, 2022 at 02:58 PM.

Glad you have gotten some kind of relief @Angela273 . Dry frustrating.
@coupon girl it must be so had on your SIL being alone. So nice that you can visit and hopefully make things a bit better for her.
Nothing exciting here. Sun and hot weather has returned so I’m taking it easy during the hot part of the day but will head out later for some exercise and garden maintenance.
Long days and hard days are happening this week so I need to conserve my energy . Off to finish the vacuuming before Dh comes home.

@coupongirl I have had better luck selling on facebook than Kijiji. Too many no shows, low balling etc. I hope you sell it at asking price.

@Angela273 would having an oatmeal bath help? Curious what type of virus your doctor thinks you have. Have you tried calamine lotion on the itchiest spots?

I wonder if you are reacting to something @Angela273 as an allergic reaction i.e. contact with noxious plant, an object with unknown material content, OTC, vitamin C (too high dosage)? Stress+ another factor (heat?) could also trip the body into reacting.
The other thing is based on where the spots are showing up, maybe an internal organ is having an issue?
I say this as someone dealing with ongoing itching on my upper torso and arms for at least a few years-I definitely have an organ issue (internal based on the pain) related to my major health issue and there are days this summer where I wish I could walk out of this skin away from the urge to scratch. Putting hand cream on my hands at night is not always a solution...reading sometimes helps but the heat has impacted that too (have a graphic novel waiting for me).
I intend to break open the bottle of bubble mix in the morning as a distraction from everything, after I do a quick morning shop for bevvies and snacks."This is the Way." The Mandalorian

Nordstrom's Live event (3pm EDT or 12pm PST)for what to wear for fall (part of Anniversary Sale celebrations) was interesting. Seems most of the items of interest that I put on my wish list (I was not a winner of any of the gift cards) are available in the US but not on the Cdn store site. Hmm-did like the plaid shirtdress in the first look. Some shoppers' reviews are not promising about fit or fabric but I still like that there's a touch of purple in the gray plaid dress.
Dark or vivid pinks will be strong in fall fashion. Moto jackets over long dresses. A couple of menswear looks-one suited (model had great eyeglasses) and one casual (the meh gray jacket, token blue plaid shirt and denim jeans). Tote bag and a few purses.
Next week's Live will focus on Back to School fashion. Have to RSVP online or via e-mail to be entered into the draw for gift cards (open to Canada but not QC)."This is the Way." The Mandalorian
