Yesterday, I had an offer of 40% back in points when you redeem 10K or more and I had $8 worth of coupons.
It was discussed here that after you redeem, you can use coupons to pay for tax.
We bought slightly over $350 and wanted to redeem $350. She would not redeem first and insisted in processing the coupons first. I look at the receipt and saw that the items were reduced by the coupon and not entered as a coupon.
i.e. The Royale TP were $5.99 and I got 4 with $1 coupons. The receipt says $19.96 making them $4.99 each.
Nowhere on the receipt shows coupons being used.
And the way she did the coupons, I lost out on 40% back on that $8.
So now I don't know if I'm ahead or behind (too lazy to do the math) because since she took off the coupons against the product, I don't have to pay extra tax.Last edited by couponmummy; Tue, Oct 18th, 2022 at 10:38 AM.

amazon.ca ......fast? yup. Reasonable deals? ...yup. Strange way of sending me the WRONG size of charcoal filters for my cat water fountain TWO TIMES!! refund process easy? ....yup.
Still...... good grief the photo of the rectangular filters and size are right there on the page I ordered from. Third times a charm hopefully. I enlisted the help of a CS rep who made bold large print notes on my order for this time.
Less than Third World Issues....I know.

@bhlombardy ha ha ! You know in the olden days we just placed a " hand held " plastic double water dish down, washing it out and refilling it every few days.
The cats MAKE you buy stuff that they truly can do without, so I applaud you for not having cats, they are EVIL! ha ha

For #1 rant it is the same one as @Tweets77: Hardly find tears pad coupons anymore in major grocery stores...always empty the first days...
For #2 rant.Even without coupons found I wanted the 2.97$ deal at IGA QC for Nutrigrain,Kashi and Rice Krispies bars...nothing left on the shelves...
For rant # 3.Asked my IGA if they still sliced fine cheese like swiss and gouda...I was told no...Wow..no service...I will stick my business with public harvest for that.At least they do it with pleasureLast edited by cath007; Sun, Apr 9th, 2023 at 03:54 PM.

PCO is really sneaky. This is happening practically every time when I get an offer of 40% back in points when I redeem.
Last week, I got the offer and redeemed 140K and got back 56K as shown on my receipt and on my online account which is correct.
I check my account everyday and today it says I received 53,808 points, a difference of 2192 points.
Are they hoping that after a few days, I wouldn't notice that they are trying to rip me off?
This happened to me 2 weeks ago when I got the same offer.
I did an inquiry and got my missing 2192 points for this week and 2600 points from last time.
I don't trust them at all.

Was in RCSS at 2000H and saw a stack of prime rib roast with a best before date of 4/12. Since it is 4/11 today, they would 'expire' in 3 hours and be tossed into the LOOP for pig feed or dumpster, I asked if they were willing to negotiate on the $9/lb price. No interest whatsoever in discounting it. They would rather throw it out or sell it for pennies to feed pigs. What arrogance. I guess Galen makes enough off his suckers to not even bother trying to save throwing out saleable food.
Too bad so sad. You still didn't make a penny from me.My food may not befit a king, but I eat like a horse.

My love and hate relationship continue today with my IGA.....
I finally found the snack o clock coupons and I roaked 2 persons with those coupons btw
So I purchased 20 boxes of Special K grain and nuts bars ...disclamer this is one of the only bars I eat at school and I left plenty on the shelves
So ...the problem is ...arrived at the till.. I had 10 coupons...No it is 1 per puchase so we can just take 1 coupon at all...I explained the difference of those terms..fine they said
Noticed I was charged 9$ of darn *)&*(&&(* taxes on those when it is more than 1 bar we do not have to paid taxes..I said it...ho but t he system is this way,we cannot do nothing about that
So the deal was 2 for 6,00$ and 3,00$ wub 2 coupons + 100 scene points per 2 boxes. should be paying like 1,00$ no with taxes I paid way more than that...
And she entered the coupons at 2,99$ not 3,00$..so what is the point???? like seriously
So pissed right now...
It is the same thing with fpcs never I pass fpcs there...the taxes said it is included on the coupons but always beiing charged...
Thanks for reading... still happy but ...not so a fun shopping..being so much more harder to use coupons now..Last edited by cath007; Sat, Apr 15th, 2023 at 10:25 AM.

According to the tax acts of Canada and Quebec, anything with less than 6 bars is considered a "snack" and needs to be taxed. So, the shrinkflation that has been happening and has reduced the Nutrigrain, Special K crisps, granola bars down to 5 bars in each package, has caused them to now be taxed.
Same thing has happened with Ben & Jerry's and Haagen Dazs ice cream - went from 500ml to 473ml and it is now taxed.

Actually, according to the IGA coupon policy (found here : https://www.iga.net/en/at_your_servi...coupons_rabais), there should be no tax charged on free taxable products when we have an FPC. I quote:"For free taxable products, the customer does not pay the taxes on the product." I always have pull up their website to show the manager the policy.
As for the "one coupon per purchase", I get that so often at Pharmaprix but not IGA. I have stopped shopping at so many places LOL.
