@Giseledta , I keep an offer for spend $300 get get 45,000 points. That is more than half of my monthly budget and not going to happen.
We know they track our purchases and they know I never spend that much and I have never spent $300 in a week, in a month maybe.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

500 is alot. I've done it, re large family, great points.but it's rare But, average. Nope. No where close . And the bonus points, on top of the 75 don't make it worth my while.
I just wrote out my whole list...
Vinegar.1.50.. will grab for pantry.
Rest of the list, is 100. Besides dog food .
Hate that i am not going to take advantage of it. But, just not worth it

@Giseledta
The highest offer I have ever gotten is $200/30000 points and I would never take advantage of that because I want my threshold to be between $100-$150 since I am not usually buying any meat or seafood . I do stock up on meat and seafood once I have a good sale and offer . We are mostly shopping for fruits and veggies , French fries for the past few months I am trying to used stuff from my stock pile

It's not hard to understand why the algorithm predominantly gives total spend offers that are well above our usual spend amounts. They aren't eager to give us extra points for spending as we normally do. They want us to spend meaningfully more, and the offers are to entice us to do so. How enticing is YMMV.

Good Morning Everyone,
A much needed work from home day, there is so much going on at work right now I don't think anyone fully knows everything going on at this point.
Had my catch up meeting with my boss, yep a lot on the go, do the best we can. I am soon going to be juggling 7 trainees but what is "interesting" this time is they are all current employees expect one. The current staff are moving to new positions or getting "add-on" training.
Today, I have a lot to get done for work but it is going to be a lot of data so I know breaks will be needed so hoping to tackle some of the smaller house stuff. Anything I can do to get a little ahead for the weekend.
Right now I am trying to embrace the insanity instead of letting it stress me out.

I don't disagree but you would think it would be more within reach. I on average spent $20 to $100 a week at a PC Store, I realize they want me to spend more in their store but $300 is just not realistic for me. Maybe it is because I am budget driven but honestly, it has made me not really pay attention to these offers, I see them there I see $300 I keep scrolling.

Happy Friday! Rainy day here!
Has been a good week off...getting things done around home.
Yesterday was the plan to get away...so didn't want to go to far or spend on hotel and have wanted to go to IKEA for a long time (haven't been in probably over 5 years) So decided to stay a night at the Woodbine Casino (went 2 years ago and they send free hotel offers monthly so have used them when they suited us!)
Went to IKEA first....looked at most things. Left spending $0. Then to the casino. No free play offer so brought $. Left a winner. Went to bed at a decent time and yesterday I totaled 19,000 steps! That place is huge so lots of walking around I love it for that.
On the way home stopped at OLD NAVY and Dollar store after getting coffee at McDonalds. (only spend on coffee)
Happy to be home. Overnight bags emptied and now time to figure out some food. Going to enjoy a lazy rainy day and watch a movie.
Will get up early tomorrow and make coffee and do the running around. Then home to tidy and hopefully putter in the garage!Last edited by Frugalbigmama; Fri, May 23rd, 2025 at 02:24 PM.

Our local movie theatre was one of many downtown businesses that received flood damage last August. It is finally opening May 31 after major renovations and delays. I lucked out and received 4x free adult movie passes to the theatre from a different local business that is helping to promote their reopening. $48 savings in future movie tickets.
edit: Our community has a population of 11,000ppl. Saying entertainment options are limited would be putting it mildly. It’s nice to have the movie theatre as an option again, even if it can make for an expensive outing. This family run theatre was opened 111yr ago and is not a part of a chain movie theatre, therefore it does not participate in coupon promotions, etc. The next closest movie theatre is over 2hrs away. There was a theatre located 1hr away from us, but it closed permanently 7yrs ago. We are thankful that this long awaited reopening has arrived. Now we wait for movies to see as a family.Last edited by Angela273; Sat, May 24th, 2025 at 09:22 AM.

Good Morning Everyone,
Super slow morning here. Enjoying a cup of tea and catching up on some of my shows.
I ended up working late last night, something I have been trying to get done for 2 weeks but was not getting back feedback on became a rush yesterday. It would not have been an issue as my part was ready to go and should have taken me 5 minutes but they made a change. So I had to wait for someone else to do something first and then I had to try to re-script something I do not script and it wasn't working. Turns out it wasn't my part not working but it took awhile to figure it out. Now it is done, just have to send an email to our staff telling them the programming is done.
There are tons of things I should be working on today but my body is not feeling so, we will see where the day takes us.
I started on my meal plan last night, since I got some Asparagus this week I think I might do a Steak night, I have some mini potatoes I can smash, maybe we will have this tonight.
I need to get a plan in place for this week as last week was not my best when it came to dinners. I am in a food rut (no cravings, no wants, really dinner again mood) plus since I am on the go so much with work right now by the time dinner comes, honestly, I don't want to cook so hoping I can find some meals I can pre-prep and just cooked off at dinner time.

Happy Saturday! Stayed in bed later then I planned this morning. Finally showered and out the door just before 10am. Made my coffee to go.
Hit FB/SDM/FL. Spent $52.75 (Loonies from Casino visit
)
2 x Extra Lean beef 2 x garlic toast (40% off $2.99- popped these right into the freezer for DS) bananas, blackberries, asparagus, cucumber, 2 x eggs and one box of chicken strips for DS. At SDM I noticed the muffins in 2 spots with 2 different prices $7.79 and $8.29. Grabbed blueberry for DS. Of course they rang in for $8.29 and I asked for SCOP. At first she said no you would get them for $7.79 and I said nothing and let her have time to remember the policy
Who is paying either price for those geez! So high in sugar and not good for you anyway but a treat for DS and free is good
Came home and cleaned the kitchen and fridge out. Everything put away. Now to figure out the plan for the ground beef. Thinking meatballs one night with the asparagus and waffle fries/mashed/baked potatoes and a few pieces of garlic toast for whoever wants it (One large waffle fry bag in the freezer that I am trying to use up) Not feeling like cooking tonight but we will see. I should find something to eat now before I make terrible choices
Have a great Saturday!

Also gave some money on a go fund me page to my sister-in-laws cousin ,single mom of 3 boys 2 with heart conditions .Nice to help someone out,she has to go back and forth to toronto's sick kids hospital and take a leave from her job.Last edited by coupon girl; Sat, May 24th, 2025 at 03:07 PM.

We bought 10 raffle tickets for $10, the type where you put the ticket in the paper bag for the specific item you hope to win. All the raffle items were donated. We won two metal water bottles with gift cards. $100 Canadian Tire gc and a free 10” DQ icecream cake to our local DQ. That was well worth the $10 investment.

@Angela273 that was money well spent.
I took advantage of DS2 employee discount this week. I rarely do but he wanted to shop with me as he is trying to expand his food choices and wanted to watch me use the app to price match. He does not work cash so has never had the opportunity to learn. I did restock the house for them and they buy the groceries when we are not here and he tends to entertain more so needs to manage his money. I saved 12.00 and he had two FPC that employees received for items in the new insiders report. They get the discount on FPCs which was a nice surprise. I can confirm the new lemonade flavour was “unique”. It was not something we would buy again.Friends don't let real friends pay full price.
