Good Evening Everyone, @walkonby , your Sunday sounds amazing and feeling a little jealous.
I did not get all of my prep done before I had to head out to Dad's mainly because I remembered I needed to get gas went meant I need to be somewhat more presentable so I got ready for the day.
When I got to Dad's Step-Mom ask me to talk for a bit and we did and then Dad suggested we all go out to lunch which we also did. It was a nice outing, nice to catch up one-on-one most of the time other siblings and significant others are around and attention can be split.
I did manage to make Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with Berry Sauce (Yay!!!!! the frozen strawberries have been used) and Whipped Greek Yogurt.
For lunch I made Rice, then we had some sweet potatoes I needed to use up so I made Mexican Sweet Potatoes and then turned a package of Ground Chicken into Taco meat with Mushrooms, Peppers and Onions, I made a Mexican sauce to add and top with Lettuce, Cucumbers and Cheddar after I heat it up. I am loving bowls, for me it is all about how many veggies can I add.
Today I was in the office doing training, they were on a roll so we went later than normal but it is all good.
I was going to grocery shop my way home but I didn't have it in me. My slept has been horrible the last two nights, I think there is just too much going on and my brain isn't shutting off, not to mention I am feeling a little stressed being pulled in 500 directions at once. Between working later and being tired I decided to just come home, there is always tomorrow.
Happy Monday Everyone.2022 is going to be my year, the year I find organization in my life and the year I focus on myself,

Happy Tuesday! I think today will be a rain day. So more house chores!
I have a massage this afternoon. My RMT messages me with open appointments and I pick one and put it in my calendar and then it is a nice surprise when I see I have one booked that day!
Should pop a load of my laundry in the wash today. Will do so this afternoon just before jumping in the shower so I can add the clothing I am wearing now. (I've been wearing these yoga pants for days!)
It was looking like rain last night when we were going to BBQ so I took the lazy way out and put the chicken in the oven instead. I seasoned them up and then at the end I put BBQ sauce on them. It was really really good! I want it again tonight but didn't take chicken out. I meant to take ribs out to do in the slow cooker today but didn't do that either! So will have to figure out dinner.
I sent little gifts to my friend's kids the other day via Canada Post. I had bought them each an electric toothbrush/toothpaste gift set so added that plus chalk and some healthy granola bars to each bubble envelope. Cost to mail each- $17.74 lol oh well I had ton of stamps that were not being used and thought it is fun to get mail. I need to send an envelope to my niece this week but need to find some things to send. (before this pending strike again!)
Wrote out a "to do" list yesterday and didn't get everything done so I will add to it today and try and get at it ASAP.
Have a wonderful day!

got my $1.88 bag of russets from FB this morning. Other errands near that store made it easy to pop in and out.

Today was 10% off Tuesday at Sobeys.
$115oop
$25.93 for 10% discount
$41 coupons used
$80 in points redeemed
Earned 3,800 points.
I also submitted the receipt for basic rebates.
I bought 3 value packs of extra lean ground beef for about $4.20/lb Each value pack had $10 off sticker. It was 10% off day. I had 100pts per $5 offer. My receipt indicates that the points applied to the ground beef price before the $10 sticker and 10% discounts were applied. 1700 in points just on those 3 packs of extra lean ground beef.
I am going to turn this extra lean ground beef into hamburgers and meatballs.Last edited by Angela273; Tue, May 6th, 2025 at 10:59 PM.

Was out in the hot sun picking up litter and came upon a bottle of water sitting on a post; like it was an answer from the Gods.

I am headed to the thrift store today for 50% off day. The other day while out delivering school lunches I drove by a thrift store with 90% off but didn't stop. Off to Jasper tomorrow and then to Whistler to visit DD. Hoping I might spot some bears-but regardless the scenery will be lovely.

@cath007 You were generous to update relatives about your father's health and your viewpoint on the situation. Brace yourself for either someone wanting more of your time to provide updates (no, you do not need extra stress) or lack of offers to sit with Dad for two hours and talk with him while you go out. Remember the rule in air flights: make sure you have your own oxygen mask on before you help someone else.
Meaning: take care of yourself first. Make sure your cellphone plan is in your own name and that your phone will still work when the 3G network is shutdown this summer. Find out the cost of 1 bedroom apartments in your building, region or bigger cities. See if there are any cooperative apartment buildings that offer a studio or 1 bedroom apartment you could afford from your funds(I assume that your funds are in cash or easily converted to cash should you need it). Prepare for Eve the cat's future. Take bus trip for day to Montreal or outer boroughs now to assess resources and apartments and maybe reach out to past schoolmates for any accommodation (see what has few stairs to climb, is close to places to shop/visit doctor, get job or training opportunities) leads. Assess what belongings you will take with you when you find a new place or have to move after Dad dies.
The point is to not be overwhelmed if Dad's health worsens or if he passes away, therefore plan for you right now. You do not want to be stuck without phone if current tv/internet/phone billing is in his name and provider makes cancellation hard when Dad is too sick to do it or he passes away. Would you be able to afford Internet on own or would you want to live near a library with Internet?
Be the change you want to see. My phone service is paid until mid-July but I cannot renew it now without going without something if I spend the funds this month. My phone does not have voLTE ability (voicemail is 3G on Freedom)but the phone number is needed for two email accounts, Google Play store access and certain loyalty accounts so I have reason to keep phone number. Also it is handy to have separate phone provider from Internet provider during hydro or Internet issues, as I have experienced several such occurrences since last July. The idea is that Mom will have the phone after I pass.
My health is worsening and if I want my passing to happen in hospice, I have to plan this passage soon as I have been avoiding it for two months. Whatever concerns (lots) I have about hospice will be overruled by main desire to die in hospice-that is all I can control.

I posted about Hakim Optical's filing for creditor protection in News. Thought to ask if you have any orders, credits or coupons/gift certificates, to find out what the status is currently.

Good afternoon. Finally getting a chance to sit down. I’ve been busy doing laundry, tidying up, bills and budgeting.
I hit up NF on Monday and did pretty well.
NN pasta- 400 pts
Tortillas- 800 pts
Bananas- 200 pts
Unico Beans- 3,700 pts
15,000 wub $100 cumulative shops
Total OOP $102.98
earned 20,100 pts
Made the lady behind me happy by giving her my stamps.
We then hit up Costco again. What can I say? It’s a love hate relationship.
I grabbed another bag of frozen strawberries and 3 pks (2lb each) fresh strawberries.
I’m loving these strawberries. They’re reeeeally sweet and I can easily go through a 2lb packin a few days. So I kept 4lbs for me and gave 1 pack to my mom.
Lastly, we picked up our bikes as they got the tune up for the start of the season and it’s under our warranty so FREE.
I'm looking for a deal on russet potatoes so I can make loads of mashed potatoes and some roasted ones. A friend of ours wife is in the hospital in the ICU with sepsis and he’s still working while going for prostate cancer treatment for the second time (he’s in his 70’s) so I’m planning to make some meals for him to try to make things easier. Also planning to make something for dessert like muffins or loaves…..

I almost missed saving my PCO. I did not realize it was already Wednesday. It was a typical long drive back to NS but we had pretty good weather. I picked up a few groceries today and had to take a pass on yogurt as it’s nearly 9.00 for Siggis this week. I may buy the Kirkland when I am in the city next week. Plain yogurt and frozen berries are my fave for breakfast.
Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

Good Morning!
Yesterday was a $0 spend day. I wanted to pick up a few things on the last day of sale but nothing was a need so didn't bother.
Made steak fahitas for dinner last night. I wanted a different cheese then we had but just used what we had and it was fine.
I did take ribs and chicken out of the freezer last night so that is on the menu tonight for dinner. Plus there is lots of leftover steak strips.
Our fridge is nice and empty so I guess I am allowed to buy some groceries
Food Basics is my first stop for fresh stuff on sale! Now I can re-stock my walnuts and almonds! My #1 go to snack that I bring in the car all the time!
I worked later then normal yesterday to finish something up and so happy I did. Nice to know it was completed and I don't have to deal with it today!
Finish my coffee and then get ready for the day so I can make sure to get out at some point to do some errands.
Have a wonderful day!
