And here we are back to Monday! Starting off with sunshine so that is a good thing!
We received lots of snow yesterday. DS went out when it had stopped around 6pm to clear the driveway. It was the perfect timing since it is still clear this morning but the neighbours had to do theirs again since they did it early yesterday!
I have started wearing running shoes indoors (new clean pair- my sister ordered for me from Amazon years ago and I don't love them so they are perfect for in the house) They are making the difference! (No rug but in our basement...rest of the house is mostly hardwood/tile.)
Enjoying my coffee and then will make eggs with rye toast for breakfast at some point this morning. I should eat some of the melon I have cut up and ready too! Since I bought a back up one yesterday!
Ok I better get at it!
Have a wonderful day!

Good morning. Nothing planned for today except I’m headed to physio this afternoon. The chiropractor isn’t doing much for my shoulder. It’s better but that also happens when I avoid strength training so hoping physio will actually fix it. No snow here just rain……

Good Morning Everyone,
Sunshine here but I know it is cold out. I heard a neighbour leaving this morning and the snow has that crunch.
All I got done yesterday was cleaning the bathroom and then I sat curled up in my blanket and worked on my Santa Gnome. I got all the piece made except the beard because I realized it talks about the beard but doesn't tell you how to make it, so I will have to figure that out.
Mom suggested Enchiladas for Dinner but I am out of small whole wheat Tortillas, they disappeared from my store for a few weeks and when they came back they went up over $1 in price. We had some large tortillas so instead we made it like a lasagna, it was good but we used too much sauce.
Today we are doing all the work things. Half way through trying to get through the weekend emails my email decided to stop working, took me almost an hour to get it working again.
Tonight's dinner is another mystery, maybe Steak Sandwiches, maybe something else.

The Leaf's game is only aired on Prime tonight, big whoop. We get it but not crazy about the voices and style of the announcers that call the game.
We're up 1-0 after 1 period...........for now. ha ha

@flemeth Does your family make rude criticisms after every word the announcers say?

Just one way we get through watching it. We know it's juvenile to behave this way but
we're alone so it's funny!

Good Morning Everyone,
I keep waking up during the night thinking I am hearing a bang (I think, I think it is Mom's cane) but last night I was up at 3:30 so I ended up sleeping in today.
I have laundry going.
I did end up shovelling yesterday so that is done but more snow to come today and for the next 7 days. Trying not to hate winter but when you look at the long range forecast and for 7 days all you see is snow, it is affecting my mood. Not to mention I find it hard to plan anything, there are things we need from Costco but any chance I have to go it is supposed to be snowing so that won't be happening.
I think on my lunch I need to run out grab some more ice melter, I have some but don't know if it will last for 7 (maybe more) days of snow.
I did not take out the steak yesterday so I ended up making Chicken Burgers instead which is just a chicken breast sliced in half on a bun with Lettuce and Pickle.
Tonight is a mystery.

Well today hubby and i went to visit his sister in the hospital ,she is 62 and fell in her apt .She also has epelipsy. She fractured her arm so she is having an operation soon.Hope all goes well with her.
We grabbed a spot that someone had left 30 minutes on so only cost me 3.00 to park for 2 hours on the street.
Hubby is estranged from some of his siblings so he was hoping that no one was there and there wasnt just us.
It was hard to see that they had 3 people set up in the hall outside rooms .Wow our healthcare ,but the therapist and the nurses were nice.

A moderately cold day at -16C with wind chill to -19 or so. Was still sweating during my run. Took my toque off to cool and the sweat was freezing in my hair!

My iPhone6 was in a pouch around my neck and was covered by a t-shirt, sweatshirt, and a fleece pull-over. It STILL felt cold when I took it out to make a call. It just died after 10 seconds in my hand. Went from 100% charge to 10% to auto-shutdown. Luckily, I managed to warm it, before making my call. I'm, amazed how cold it can get, just one layer away from my skin.

We found a neighbour willing to do our driveway in NS for a decent price. My brother will do it but he is so busy with work and the neighbour is charging next to nothing because we don’t need it during a snowfall we just need it once the plows are through to keep the ends clear. We heat with oil so the oil company needs access. We already had three storms in 10 days so we just want to have a plan in place. When we are here DH will keep it clear as we have a good snowblower.
I took advantage of the Scene promo and the bonus points paid out so I was able to do it again with the bonus points. I opted for the Sobey’s/FreshCo gift cards and was happy to see I could download to my Apple wallet. I wish we could do this with the Air Miles GC.Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

I’m thankful that we can afford extras for our family. I think I’m done our Christmas shopping. Christmas stockings contain mostly treats…some items I scoped, other items I won, and the rest were purchased with coupons, rebates, and bonus redemption at SDM. I placed my Amazon order yesterday as part of the Air Miles shop the block promotion. This year we have more “share gifts” aka family gifts. Bought a refurbished iPad to replace our iPad that broke in the summer. I won that iPad during covid, it eventually broke when someone accidentally dropped it while it was charging…the charging port got damaged, which is connected to the motherboard in this version. No way to fix that device. Also bought a microscope for our kids to share. Ds received a telescope last year for his birthday. Finally bought a new CPU to replace my 10yr old desktop computer, which still works but is slow. I also bought a variety of treats for the holidays, which will come out on Christmas Day. Some of those items were bought with coupons, rebates, bonus points, No Frills freebies, etc.
My son has a gift exchange next week. He happily picked out items from my gift stash and reused a gift bag, which saved our family over 50% off the cost of the gifts. I’m thinking about adopting a senior from a local program this year.
Our kids’ school is doing their tree of giving again this year. For the 10 days before Christmas break each class picks a labelled ornament from the Christmas tree to tell their class what items to bring to school to donate the next day. The next day the ornament is exchanged for a different ornament from the tree. So far my kids are brining KD & toothpaste to school tomorrow. All of the items will be donated to our local Salvation Army.Last edited by Angela273; Wed, Dec 10th, 2025 at 11:33 AM.

Good Morning Everyone,
It is snowing, and there are no signs of it stopping.
It was bothering me that I needed to get Ice Melter. I think I have enough for this storm, but still, it was one of those things; it was in my mind, and my mind couldn't let it go. So I took my lunch early since I had a meeting right after lunch and ran to Wal-Mart, grabbed 2 bags of Ice Melter and some more donations for the Toy Drive at work, what can I say those gift packs pull me in everytime.
When shopping for the Toy Drives, I always try to buy for older kids as they tend to get forgotten. I find girls easy to shop for but boys so hard, but I found a couple cool gift packs.
Then I came home and grabbed the loaner so I could put gas in it, that was a fail. I do not know what it was but the pump kept turning off, I only got $5 in and the pump shut off 4 times so I stopped. I didn't have time to google it because of my meeting but did when I got home as I wasn't sure if there is a trick to filling a hybrid. According to google not really so will try again.
Also ran into No Frills to grab Milk and remembered I had a deal for butter which was on sale for $4.95 and I had two points offers that would stack. I got 2200 points for spending $15 and 1800 points from a personal offer. I had to grab 4 to spend $15, I didn't want to risk being under $15. We will use it.
Guess it is time to stop putting it off and build the electric shovel, it looks like I am going to need it.
Will also check the flyers, there isn't much we need but will see if there are any good sales.

Good morning. Off to work early today since it’s raining and the roads are starting to flood so the hwy should be fun
.
I had my first physio appointment on Monday and afterwards she taped my shoulder. I was told to keep it as long as I felt it was comfortable and that it would last 2-3 days. It had to come off yesterday as it was irritating my skin. Well….. it actually removed a quarter size piece of skin
. Work today will be fun.
Have a great day everyone
