i wish i had the nerve too...can justify spending that kind of money cause when you think about how much you actually spend on perscriptions and new frames its worth it
i hate glasses too always have but not much i can do about it at this point cause im so blind without them
just got my new ones today like them way better then my old ones but the nose pieces are messed up and need to be fixed before i can wear them they were wayyyyy too tight and the chick kept saying "well they look fine" ugh i dont care if they look fine the point was they are like squeezing my nose together and she wouldnt touch them grrrrrr so may take them to walmart with me tomorrow and see if they will do them for me even though i didnt get them there cause i would at least like to wear them sunday (its my bday gotta look good!) LOL

rose: the little plastic nose thing usually has screws that can be adjusted to suit yer honker that girl just didn't want to do it.

i have one ear that's higher than another. it's nasty trying to get glasses that fit.

has anyone here had lasik eye surgery done before??? im so very depressed about how bad my eyes are (just got my new glasses and even with the lenses thinned they look like coke bottles) it makes me so depressed...kind of thinking about the lasik thing they have a lasik MD clinic in k-town would be awesome to be able to see without glasses or even with a thinner perscription but im soooo terrified of it at the same time

DH had Lasik done, and he loves it!! He had about the same prescription as you do, Rose, and he is at 20/20 with no correction now. He had it done about 3 years ago now, and he has absolutely no regrets. However, he was on the border with whether or not he could get it done because of the slope of one of his eyes. The head surgeon had to do a consult and he had it done the "old" way (they just remove the flap, instead of putting it back after the laser), so his healing time was a little longer than most people's.

Sorry, I somehow missed this.

What sort of food are you thinking of? Are you looking for cheap, elegant, ethnic? Also, whereabouts downtown do you prefer? & are you looking for something to do while downtown? If it's Yorkville you're thinking of (Yorkdale is off of the 401), be prepared to mortgage your home (just joking).

If you want a decent meal at a not-bad price, Le Bifteque is good (sorta like Keg, but better meal). It's in the Sheraton Centre, across from City Hall. Lots of pubs around, which serve decent food. If you're looking for Chinese/Vietnamese/Korean, there are little (& I mean little) restaurants along Dundas, east of Spadina, or right on Spadina.

There was a kerfuffle recently, where a rat was found in a restaurant (sitting in the front window after hours, freaking out tourists - hey, rodents have to eat too! ), so the health dept has really cracked down, so they're fairly safe.

Let me know what you're thinking of, & I'll ask my friend who frequents the restaurants (she works downtown & knows all the hotspots - I used to, but all my favourites from 10yrs ago have changed).

So I was up last night to 2am (got home from work at 12am) playing that stupid PS. Man, is it addictive! I was trying to win another Jester doll but I didn't and lost 3,000 coins. Bah.

I got a call this morning from a friend who said she found a Sat. morning drop in play group. I am very excited as the one I usually went to was Fri morning but ever since I went back to work (and working straight afternoons) I usually can't get there. DD gets a lot out of it as do I. So we are meeting them after we have lunch with my SIL at Timmy's (she is working today). Then we might even hit Costco! So my day went from doing nothing, to being busy!

DD is 13 months. When i was on mat leave, we were at various groups/playgroups/swimming lessons 3 days a week! It was fun for both of us and I met some great moms. I still keep in contact with some.
