Son is away for the weekend, so I'm making a big pot of chicken soup (gosh, it smells heavenly, simmering away!), so my husband and I can eat it - and the chicken - all weekend, lol!

Got home last night to a very empty fridge. Had some salad fixings, eggs that were about to be "best before" (I refuse to say bad/expire because they don't have a ticking clock in them) and some frozen perogies. Ended up with a big salad with a boiled egg, and perogies and sour cream. Yum! I love those dinners that turn out great and were so quick/easy.

Ds did the table, the girls washed up and tidied away...

And I got all the stores Mother's Day pressies since the girls went with Mr Penguin and told them it was my birthday today...

My birthday is sunday but my cousins did a little thing tonight for me. My aun't and my cousins inlaws. We had some appetizers first then pizza, and this very rich chocolate cake.

Chicken I made for supper yesterday!





I seasoned my chicken with my home made rub and basted the chicken with some Bone Sucking Sauce thick version which is my favorite BBQ sauce!

To all you Smart Canuck Moms, its Mother’s Day greetings I’m sending,
I hope your house is filled with helping hands willing for the lending,
I’ve been a Mom for 27 years & wonder how it went by so fast,
I’m reflecting on how the day to day stuff become memories from the past,
The cards they made, the cups of tea & breakfast served on a tray,
Coming down to the kitchen to be welcomed by a floral bouquet,
The little things your kids do for you remind you motherhood is a perk!
In spite of all the times beyond frustration & you were going berserk,
Many of us have lost our own Mom’s & reflect on all they gave,
& now know they were on the money when they told us to behave,
If you’re a new Mom I can tell you that it is a pretty good gig indeed,
& just let your kids really believe that you’re not quite up to speed,
Once you’ve become a Mom your intuition switch is stuck in the “on” mode,
But all us Moms know the travels of motherhood is a most rewarding road,
Happy Mother’s Day ladies enjoy your day, time for a motherly review,
& any offspring who’ve forgotten what today is, that’s a major shame on you!
