Last night, my wonderful husband made sarma for us, it was wonderful. Gave lots to our son to take home, and we'll have the leftovers tonight for supper.

Wow I haven't posted in a while but don't worry we've been eating
I've been busy working and being very sick with bronchitis . Now that I'm feeling way better it's back into the kitchen.
I've done more osso bucco and risotto (man I love that stuff ), a Thai style lettuce cups ( one with chicken and one with shrimp), frekideller(Danish meatballs).
Tonight I'm going to grill some corn on the BBQ with some streaks and roasted taters. I'm also going to be making a tomato & cucumber salad (the tomatoes are from Kwantlan university's horticultural program) they are both cheap and SO DELICIOUS!!!!! And for dessert, creme brûlée

I suppose best way to describe it is very meaty cabbage rolls, Serbian-style - traditionally done with sauerkraut leaves, with a mixture of ground meat, rice, and seasonings.
However, buying the cabbage leaves is very expensive, so we just add sauerkraut to the pot.
We mix up a 1/2 kilo each of ground beef and ground pork (though this last time used all ground pork), add some raw rice, garlic, s+p, Vegeta seasoning - and make rolls out of them. Put in giant pot of water, bring to a boil. After a while, add tomato paste (or sauce or soup) and 1/2 jar of sauerkraut. Needs close to two hours to cook.
It's SO yummy!

Tonight, in one big roaster, cut up chicken pieces, lots of potatoes, onions slices; just checked it, 3/4 way done, just turned over the potatoes and left the lid off to brown the chicken. Will serve with peas.

Sent the guys to work with a mish mash of leftovers, a bit of pressure cooked steak with onions, steamed veggies, baked butternut squash and beets. I had the basa again with same veggies. That means I have to create new dishes again.....hmmm there might be an early morning cook off tomorrow.

Chili Fiesta Sloppy Joes from the Mennonite Cookbook. Good, but needs more seasoning for my taste.
