I made that for today's turkey.
It's not fabulous for bread, but is good in the bird.

We are staying home for the holidays, we don't have any local family. I pulled the chicken thighs out of the freezer too late, so it will have to be tomorrow's supper. I just ordered two Domino's pizza with cheese bread with a discount card. So we are having pizza for Christmas.

Merry Christmas, everyone!
Part of me is very jealous of those of you having turkey and all the trimmings!
We had 'supper' at 3 p.m. I made crispy chicken thighs in the oven (wow, were they huge and not fatty, really tasty), and we had leftover perogies, cabbage rolls, kapusta - and to the leftover mushroom gravy I added the chicken drippings, and made a bit more gravy.
Packed up whatever was left for our son, plus leftover salmon - as well as a bunch of other food.
I guess if we get hungry in the evening, we'll find something to graze on!

I plan on baking chicken thighs in the oven with a little bbq sauce on top. Boiled potatoes with the skin on and home made coleslaw. I always try to have a glass of milk with my meals.

After two turkey meals yesterday and one today, DH and DS are a bit tired of regular turkey dinner. So tonight I made a turkey casserole kind of thing. Turkey of course, diced boiled potatoes, a couple strips of cooked bacon, frozen corn, black beans from the freezer that I'd cooked from dried, and a poultry based sauce that was not quite gravy - browned onions in butter, added garlic, a nice brown turkey wing, some Campbell's chicken broth and simmered awhile. Some flour to thicken a bit, then added the turkey, beans and corn, poured it over the diced potatoes and baked a bit. DS was in a crabby mood and said it did not taste good, but gobbled it up quickly.
I thought it was good too.

We were out visiting today but stopped into Burger King for some burgers before heading home. Nibbles only get you so far when you've missed supper.
