What better place to post my 8,000 than of page 666 (since I use 30 per page) of the Fake Twitter thread.

DH, we had a thread on here some time ago about pink slime, iirc, and there was quite a bit of discussion about the fact that now most, if not all, meat processors aren't using it...at least as I understand it, Cargil, a major manufacturer of raw beef, said it doesn't use it. And I'm probably naive here, but aren't blood vessels part of what constitutes meat? I mean..are they supposed to remove every blood vessel from the meat before processing? See? I told you I was naive!

Thank goodness I rarely eat out at fast food places, but omg, when the craving hits for an A&W burger, nothing in this world can keep me from one. Except this diet.

So...your thoughts? BTW...are you vegetarian or vegan? I know you watch your nutrition very carefully and managed to turn your diabetes around....which is SO "good for you!"...

I'm vegan. No meat, dairy or eggs. That being said, I would hope that there would be a bit more "muscle" i.e. meat, in a meat product than 2 to 15 percent. I would not hazard a guess as to what that percentage is in Canada, but I don't think it would be all that much higher. Even the ones that say "All beef" don't tell you what parts they are.

I read an article similar to this a few years back. Turned me right off fast food altogether, although I never was one for burgers and such.

It really makes me rethink meat of any kind.

    FRIDAY THE 13th...............
Many people hold the folklore superstition,

On Friday the 13th, bad things come to fruition,
There's many origins out there of this enduring belief,
That on this day we'll experience misfortune or some grief,
I take some reassurance catastrophes occur all the time,
Just look at our economic climate and the hill we have to climb,
I think it's best to be practical and tickety boo as you can be,
Don't keep doom and gloom front & centre flashing on a marquis,
Always remember the ones you loves and who truly love you back,
and don't ignore your bills or you'll accumulate quite a stack,
I guess through all this banter, what I'm really saying
Friday the 13th is just a day that gets lots of overplaying,
So don your duds and off you go the weekend has arrived,
I hope it is a good one for all and you feel somewhat revived....

    p.s.
(Friday the 13th is responsible for a string of some very bad movies too)

    Have a great day all!!!

Congrats on passing the 8K mark!

With you being vegan, wondering if you are missing having booze?

What do you mean? Most booze is made from grains and water? I could live off beer and chips and be considered a vegan.

I can't have any Bailey's, but rye, rum, vodka, wine, beer are OK. That being said, I had one beer a few weeks bakc. (only one) and it made me feel like crap so I haven't had any since, not out of a real desire not to have any, just not to feel crappy so I probably won't have alcohol very often from now on.
