My friend is 21, and she's had her fair share of roommates, and she told me, the worst thing that could happen to a friendship, is if they live together. I can totally see it! hehe

But ginger...how thinly do you slice it? How long does it take to dehydrate it?
This is very interesting!! I've got to try it!!!
It takes longer for my ginger than usual as I do it at a lower temperature than what they recommend to keep the enzymes active. It takes about 24 hours in the dehydrator at 105F. As for the slicing, it can be roughly 3-7mm thick, even then, it seems to dry out at the same rate so I've noticed. I do almost 5lbs to get 1/2 lbs of dried. I then put it in a coffee grinder to make the powder and it fits nicely in a 500ml jar.

Loocie is stopping in just to say what the heck!
Am I dating myself by my reference to my tape deck?
I still have an Eaton Viking player where I'd play my cassettes,
Even long before the days of disc packs & floppy diskettes,
I've been reviewing my tapes with fondness & memories so vivid,
Songs I'd play over & over till my father would become livid,
I've got The Captain and Me & BTO,
& that dreamy & hunky Cat Stevens (man he was a beau!)
Band on The Run, Dark Side of the Moon,
Goats Head Soup used to blast in my room,
In my basement haven with burnt orange shag carpeting,
Life was grand....till you lost an earring,
My musical mementos sit upon my book case,
If you remember Deep Purple can't you just feel the bass?
Is Loocie a wee bit dated?…yes this just might be true,
But my tape deck is now working almost as good as new!
So on a sweltering July day, I just may get reacquainted,
& touch base with some times before life was not so tainted.

Dog, cat & I are squeaky clean. Taking a 5 minute break before I go back into the bathroom & shave the walls.

Wow, as little as that?! Thank you, Patty, this is something I really want to try...when life settles down a bit in the fall...nothing like hot ginger tea when the weather turns nasty...
